  1. This mod is an ongoing project to speed up building bases without reducing item costs or making the game "easy". Currently, the mod has one set of steel blocks targeted at mid- to end-game players who are building walls or other defenses (such as a pit) and spend a lot of time stacking blocks. There are seven steel blocks added (search for DHTA in creative or build menus) which, when placed, will spawn one to seven other steel blocks on top of the initial block. For example, placing "DHTA_GrowSteelBlock02" will place one steel block on the ground and one will appear on top of the first one. Placing "DHTA_GrowSteelBlock08" will place one steel block on the ground, then one on top of it, then one on top of that one, and so on until it is eight blocks high. This makes building walls up to eight blocks high much quicker. Do note that each one costs the amount of steel block resources that it would require if placing the blocks manually. The blocks that are both placed and the ones that spawn are normal steel blocks from the built-in game files. This means that you can remove the modlet and everything that you built using the modlet will remain. Note that I fully intend to add blocks for each type of material in the game and I intend to tie them to the correct skills. I will update this post when I release a new version. 2. Okay, I figured it out. <property name="PlantGrowing.Next" value="steelShapes:cube"/> I had no idea I could do that. My only remaining option is the "CustomIcon" field. Is there a way to set that to the steel cube icon? I've tried several things and nothing seems to work. The icon is always blank or the mod fails to apply.
  3. I'm having an issue with a modlet I am porting from A19 to A21. A19 had a "CustomIcon" value and I had it set to the stainless steel block. That's gone so I just removed the custom icon line for now. However, the growing line is confusing me. I cannot figure out how to tell it to grow a steel block. <property name="PlantGrowing.Next" value="steelBlock"/> This does not work. I see something called "steelShapes" in the official blocks.xml file, but I am not sure how to use that in my modlet. This thing basically costs the same as X steel blocks, you place it down, and it grows up X blocks to speed building. How do I tell it to place a steel cube in A21?
  4. Okay, maybe that's what it was then. CTRL+SHIFT+V actually shows what you are placing in the blue box bounds. The copied structures appear in red.
  5. I just noticed your reply, stallion. CTRL+V does not paste anything on my end, but CTRL+SHIFT+V does. Can you verify that CTRL+V works for you? When I copy and use CTRL+V I get a big blue outlined box, but it is empty.
  6. Okay, I finally figured it out. I remembered in DOS it was CTRL+SHIFT+DEL to cut and CTRL+SHIFT+INS to paste. I tried both and they failed, but eventually tried CTRL+SHIFT+V and it works if you press it twice. Hope this helps other POI makers. Again, CTRL+C to copy, but CTRL+SHIFT+V once to paste and move where you want it, then again to finalize it.
  7. Okay, so I know how to select, fill/clear, and do other fun things in the prefab editor, but how do I copy and paste? I want to copy one section of my POI and duplicate it as a second floor and then texture/edit it. I cannot figure out basic copy and paste in the editor though. Is this even possible?
  8. Roland, I was referring to a newer POI that had excessive use of the triggers. Every other room I was being attacked by six or eight just because I was there. In other words, the POI was designed for Rambo or Conan. I survived, but I try to conserve my ammo for horde nights, not POIs.
  9. We have it set so we can only kill people not allied with us (kill strangers).
  10. I started a fresh game with a friend and the bug exists there too. This also works in vehicles. So long as you're in a group, you cannot be hurt by radiation.
  11. I never compared, but good find. I would assume it's a bug, but I am not a dev so it might be for a reason. Hopefully, a team member can chime in. Meganoth, it was random in the creative menu in A20 and I THINK A19. A19 was a while ago, so I may be wrong, but if you type M60 and take a bunch, they're identical. When you type "M60" again, the stats change with each keypress.
  12. So am I the only one who finds empty plots of land away from things and builds a base designed to deal with zombies these days?
  13. This happens on all tiers. Enable creative mode, open the creative window, type in "M60". If a purple shows up, check its stats or even copy it into your inventory. Delete the zero in "M60" and add it back until another purple spawns in the creative window. Check the stats. They can vary wildly. Same for any other tier. Type "M60" until a tier 3 shows up. Check stats, repeat. Stats are random, even when crafting an item. I made four AKs a day or two ago. All four were tier five and all four had different stats. I do agree though, the highest tier 5 should not be better than the lowest tier 6.
  14. Yeah, the chunk reset option makes a lot of older mods and batch scripts obsolete. It resets the entire chunk every X days. This includes resetting damage from explosions and such.
  15. Righ-click the desktop, choose nVidia Control Panel. Go to the "Manage 3D Settings" option on the left. On the right, choose the "Program Settings" tab. First, see if 7 Days shows up int he drop-down menu on that tab. If it does, select it from the drop-down and find the setting for multiple GPUs in the list below the game name. Set it to use only one GPU. Hit apply, close the panel, and see what happens.
  16. Seems like your GPU's are not stressed. I would go into the nVidia settings and then the profile for 7 Days and force it to use only one GPU. There's no reason for low fps on minimum settings on a 1080 Ti unless you're running a ridiculous resolution. If you're in 1080p you should be fine.
  17. It was adopted for years by many engines, but nVidia killed theirs in 2018 and I am not sure about Crossfire by AMD. As you said, it's dead now, but it did help me in many games in years gone by. To be honest, though, I am glad it is gone. Two identical cards that are worth anything are EXPENSIVE. I am so happy with the 3080 Ti though. It's about 30% faster than my 2080 Ti, and the 4080 Ti is supposed to be even better. If we fork out the cash for one GOOD card now, we shouldn't need two to four cards. I'll miss the crazy setups, but this is better for everybody. As for the fps hit, what resolution are you playing on? Motion blur takes a huge hit to fps, and anything above "high" for the reflection quality seems to only lower the framerate and cause strange reflection issues, such as the sky reflecting off of an indoor floor... five stories deep in a bunker...
  18. Jugginator, SLI does not hurt performance. I ran two GTX 1070's in SLI using the high-bandwidth bridge and played 7 Days for quite a while that way and it helped. Unless this is new to A21, what you're saying is the opposite of my personal experience. I later sold the two cards and HB bridge to another member here and as far as I know it helped that user. I hope it did anyway. I am trying to recall if it was 7 Days, but for at least one Unity game I played I had to do something special to get SLI really cooking like it does in Unreal Engine. I cannot remember which game or what, but at the time, Unity trailed in multiple GPU support for both AMD and nVidia. You may want to search for Unity and AFR (alternate frame rendering) and see if anything jumps out at you. Update: I did some searching. It appears that the Unity Engine never gained official SLI/Crossfire support. There are ways to make it work via nVidia Inspector or other external programs, but the benefits are NOT what they would be on an engine with native support. This tells me that it is very likely that I used something to make it give me a boost in 7 Days. I never needed SLI in Subnautica or The Long Dark and remember using only one GPU in those games. My main game at the time was Ark: Survival Evolved and it DID work there, granting a 50%-60% boost in FPS. Perhaps Jugginator is correct and, since SLI is now dead to nVidia, 7 Days cannot use it at all. Maybe sell the 1080 Ti's and get a 2080 Ti or 3070? I run a single 3080 Ti now and it roasts 7 Days!
  19. Sometimes the triggers are fun. I just did a POI in a new city and when I entered a room, the elevator to my left dinged, the doors opened, and a feral charged me. This was cliche and fun. I do agree though. When I got to the roof of said building, the second I stepped outside (no trash to step on) every zed on the roof charged my location, including irradiated cops. This was just annoying as my entire stealth trip up the tower meant nothing at the end. In other words, keep the triggers, but don't over-use them.

  21. Verify your game files first. Might also want to run a memory test (memtest86+). Are you running stock or modded? If modded, remove mods and try again. If stock, verify game files first. If the problem persists I would check my memory next. Beyond that, somebody more experienced may need to chime in.
  22. This modlet allows a user to select a day length of three, four, five, or even six hours instead of the default maximum of two hours. Useful if you're new to the game and need some time to learn before your first horde night, or if you prefer a slower pace of gameplay. Just unzip the modlet into your mods folder and enjoy the increased selections when starting a new game or continuing an existing game! Download: https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/3145/
  23. Since so many people seem to be bothered by the new water creation method introduced in A21 I decided to modify the new dew collectors. This mod reduces the max heat that a dew collector produces from 10% down to 1% and the collectors now create a jar of water every four to six hours instead of every six to ten hours, which means that you will need fewer of the collectors overall, reducing footprint for large groups and reducing heat further. Just unzip the mod to your mods folder and enjoy! Note: If you already have a save or dedicated server with dew collectors deployed, you will need to pick up and replace the existing collectors in my experience or they will remain at the old settings. 24. That's not you or your vehicles, it's stock ones also. I can force-reproduce that on any vehicle, stock OR modded in. The jeep is the easiest stock vehicle to do this on. Just tap the accelerator a few times before it "changes gears" and it goes silent until the max rpm sound starts.
  25. As long as I get a mech-suit of equal size, sounds good!
