  1. Two bears. TWO EFFIN BEARS! Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam reload oh God hurry up Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam Bam That's enough to turn a book lover off of books.
  2. If you see a wolf and its eyes are glowing, it's a direwolf. they are nothing but death on four legs. Unfortunately they're very easily mistaken for a regular wolf which can be one shotted (head shot) with a primitive bow and an iron arrow. This does not hold for a direwolf in which case "oh gawd, feet don't fail me now"
  3. This happens from time to time. The tree was put on top of a purse or a piece of trash or something like that.
  4. You probably need at least 10 potatoes to be sustainable. Some people have said six I personally feel better with 10. I've been harvesting enough to plant 10 plants and have sufficient to make enough meat stew to get me through the day. If you put another point in living off the land it gets much better and you can probably get by with less than 10 if you want
  5. I came up on a zombie with a chicken 10 or 15 ft behind him. Wasn't interested in the zombie but I needed the meat. I couldn't get close enough to shoot the chicken without aggravating the zombie. If I got close enough to club the zombie, the chicken would run off. So I aimed high up from far away with my primitive bow and the arrow arced over the zombie and hit the chicken. Then I compensated and shot the zombie. Whoever designed the bow and the bow physics did a very good job on it. A fun mini game is hunting chickens and rabbits with the primitive bow. That takes real skill with the bow and the real patience of a hunter.
  6. Yeah I can see how playing that way would make the workbench the most important thing you can find. I've rarely had more than one beaker.
  7. The wrench is useful as soon as you get it. The chemistry station and the workbench not as much early on.
  8. I have found forges at gas stations in back.
  9. You sell the 27k you just got for more than 27k
  10. Yes it happens but I rarely encounter them on the first day or two. It might be because I'm not looking for them.
  11. There was a time when you could just open up the forge window and make a lot of iron arrowheads to level up. It was too fast.
  12. I knew there had to be somebody that could do the math. Lol looks like 10 will be enough but I better have some backup.
  13. Just got the seed schematic. It's part of my DNA now. And I know where there's lots of taters I haven't bothered because I'm living off of chicken bacon and eggs at present. But I always put two points into MasterChef. Got some pumpkins growing and I like to make pumpkin cheesecake. I always have plenty of beer, lol. Still haven't decided on how many taters I need to plant. I'm thinking at least 10. Went through two harvests in the last game who played and that seemed to be working. You can probably make up for a shortfall by buying potatoes and corn from a trader but that hadn't happened. I only have a two harvest sample though.
  14. It is very rare that I don't find a scope but it has happened.
  15. I check the first trader I go to daily. When I have the second or third or fourth trader, I check my main trader daily and then the other traders every other day or so. I don't have a problem finding plenty of items I can equip or modify my weapons with. The problem is I'm looking for not one but two specific items and that is hard to do. I've been playing this game since alpha 7, I don't hate the game.
  16. The random nature of the way equipment appears can keep me from equipping the way I want. I like to put scopes and silencers on my guns. I can play the entire game and not get either one. Usually I'll get one but not the other. Only occasionally will I get them both. I must cheat. I don't think I should get these things right away starting out. There should be a reasonable period of time where I'm struggling to get situated and develop my character where I must rely upon a bow and a club. When I reach the point where begin the transition into the more difficult adversaries, I want to use a 9mm and a crossbow. By that time I almost always have the parts and can spec into the skill sets that I need to get both. I can't spec into anything that'll let me build a scope or a silencer. So I go into creative mode and give myself whichever one I need or both on the rare times that I don't have either. I do not see this as giving me an unfair advantage. If I don't have a workbench, I'll put points into int until I can build it. I'm okay with that. By that time I usually have a hammer and a wrench. If not, I can spec into what I need to build both if necessary. I'm okay with that. I would be just fine with the bow if I could put a scope on it. It doesn't make sense. I agree.
  17. Yes but he wasn't wearing women's clothes. He was fighting a big cat. Been fighting the same cat for 3 days.
  18. Fortunately Rekt had some meat for sale. I looked it over pretty good and didn't see anything green, gave it the sniff test. I knew better than to ask where it came from. Starvers can't be choosers anyway. Next day I went hunting wabbits with a pipe machine gun. Just couldn't channel my inner Elmer Fudd.
  19. Perhaps I am agrowing the dog as I go into the base. I'll look around for it before I enter next time.
