  1. that's a lot of ram usage, way too much the entire map isn't loaded in a game, only areas directly surrounding a player. maybe about a 175 block radius, give or take? are your cities more frequent than this, out of curiosity? those big squares are regions, i think there are 256 chunks in a region. in your options panel, view distance (default 7, max 11) controls how many "chunks" you see outward from your location how many chunks and things in the chunks that are loaded at that time you could try lowering that and see if it improves performance. (for server owners, 20 people running max view distance will tax the server much more than everyone on 8.) lowering the number of cities wouldn't make a difference there ARE ways to control city spawn though, but i have no experience in the actual mixer, but i'm sure someone can help with that. sorry not too helpful, but maybe some will learn things ^^
  2. i know my brain is mud, can't imagine what jax's wife is cleaning out from his brainpan on a daily basis. just want to highlight this bit-
  3. really still want to build or at least do some decorating, but between bus trip, being sick and this finishing i'm pooped lol. you can lock down notifications on the discord pretty easily, by whole server or individual channels on a server, just so you know the next time one beeps mercilessly at you. i belong to a few servers where i literally only get @mentions from a single channel in it or i'd go bat♥♥♥♥ebonkers.
  4. it's an artifact of the additional recipes added to the mod, 3.0 will have some fixes to help it out, and a17 is supposed to address it in general (hopefully).
  5. Scrap sphere for sticks, got it ooh that sneaky caps lock filter!
  6. i believe if you go to assemble a shotgun, going off of the receiver (i think) it will give you options as to what gun you want to assemble, and one of those choices would be boomstick. i'm a little hazy on 2.2 at this point, but hopefully that helps you along. - - - Updated - - - is this the first time running ravenhearst with them, or you have been running it and suddenly there is an issue? ravenhearst is very memory heavy, i don't know what kinds of limits server providers try to hang over the user heads, but that could be it. if you HAVE been running ravenhearst already and this is a new problem, no idea as the files for 2.2 haven't changed in months.
  7. and then there's all the people with upwards of 5 separate installs, crazycakes!
  8. very happy all are enjoying it. love the towel idea, knightstalker710, creative! wanted to say, while jax initially developed the mod with us FOR his mp server, it's not necessarily aimed at GROUP play. on the server, most play solo, some with trading. we have some couples, and a few "groups" that come and go, but it's built for all. the main thing pointed at server play was the 21 day hordes that sphere made for us, because on an active server you could wind up with 3-4 hordes a day, which got really taxing after a while. with 21 day hordes, at 90 minute days, 24/7 activity, was only popping 1 horde roughly in a 24 hour period. the other thing was gamestage progression, which wound up being too slow for single player, and also a tad slow for mp progression as well. gamestage and 7th day hordes received a lot of attention in 3.0, and at 2k+ gs, hordes might be a bit terrifying now. filemachete, i'm sure jax will love pouring through your feedback. see you in the next version ^_^
  9. working stiffs, construction boxes, etc. also find them on the trader with secret stash. not sure if rank 1 or 2 begins to show calipers.
  10. hi, you need to apply the wiring on the "open hatches" of these generators for it to take properly. i don't think the sewers are interactive (kind of like the road decals), so you can't destroy them themselves. block under you can break to collapse it though. - - - Updated - - - like sphere said, definitely doesn't sound like the mod launched on a clean copy of the game. delete your steam copy of 7d2d, reinstall and keep it clean! a lot of mods can bug out being in the steam folder, best to keep them separate.
  11. we have a copy/paste of instructions from a mac user that's been very helpful when people have had trouble installing on mac, i don't know if something like that would be good for linux users also? or a list of tips for linux? not sure! but if a linux user feels something like that could be beneficial and would like to write something up, i would save it and put on the trouble shooting area of our discord, too.
  12. i have a 970 and 16g of ram, and takes about 3.5 minutes for me to load... no ssd.. and a 10$keyboard.... lol.
  13. all i read was fix it with a rocket launcher, and i must say i approve!
  14. is it only the one in said position? is it playing music? which version is it you're playing on? if you're able to pastebin your output log from sp since you're seeing it there too, could be helpful.
  15. yeah, our version is much more basic than their awesome sounding one tho ^_~ but at least you'll have some bag space out looting!
  16. i'm not sure what you're asking, the point of the 21 day bms is you only get bloodmoons every 21 days. this was done largely for high pop servers that would be seeing bm hordes 3 times a real life day. but it works well for people that want to relax more between hordes. if you want weekly bm hordes, play the 7day version. it almost sounds like you think there's another horde type? aside from "screamer" hordes, there are only wandering hordes, and bloodmoon "7th day" hordes.
  17. it's a vanilla issue thanks for taking the time to look around the thread, glad you guys are having fun
  18. i see A LOT of wood frames, so many i probably don't see all of them. when they upgraded to the 3d frames this started occurring. it was so bad at one point early on they reverted to 2d frames, and then brought them back. tl;dr, careful how many frames you use.
  19. heya, i'm afraid your mod did not install properly, you do not need a tool in EITHER campfire to cook charred meat. i don't think you even need a tool on vanilla to cook charred meat.
  20. i'm pretty sure it's 100% in my testing, but playing it safe, you know? lol.
  21. are you putting the wood IN the fuel slot in the campfire? - - - Updated - - - canned boiled water and charred meat, that's it for starter fire. thanks for the little faq, also! it's still recommended to use any consumables (food/books/meds) carefully, but thanks to sphereii the crafting lag is much much better, users will notice that there are now sometimes categories in the modded workbenches, and the "all" tab is on the right side of the crafting tabs. this means when you open a workbench initially, you're not loading in every recipe it offers off the bat. and thanks to tormentedemu, eating and drinking in menus isn't quite as devastating, but still tread carefully. and reminder to those with discord, feel free to join us over there, tons of helpful people and info laying around https://discord.gg/0uy8OaV8YAMGZKeS
  22. always better to assume that your outputlog will be needed and include it. you can use pastebin.com and provide the link, makes it super easy ^^ - - - Updated - - - sounds like you're magical, to me
  23. we have a couple of polls on the discord and a curiosity poll on terrain generation https://strawpoll.com/6g794hz9
  24. yeah the wrench is crafted in the advanced bench, don't believe it was touched at all. congrats though, our server is on day 456 and i personally have never found a crowbar. plenty seem to drop for others though -_-
  25. you didn't say it right omg!
