Wsiegel
Thanks Hal, I can see everything now. :) But I did find something weird going on. ( or maybe it's me ) Entity placement: I placed 4 cars, 2 at 90 x, and 2 at 270 x, they showed up just where I wanted them in game... however when I go back to the editor ( after already placing entities ) the last entity I placed, turns into a Supply Crate Random. Not sure what is going on. Thanks again.
HAL9000
using the newest editor (circa 7.8) w/ a 7.7 world/prefab results in the exception. using the previous editor (circa 7.7) w/ a 7.8 world/7.7 prefab results in a blank edit area.
Good spot LeadingZero. Can you send me a 7.7 prefab as an example? I didn't back my game up before the update. I doubt I'll support migration but I can at least notify you if there's a block in a prefab that doesn't have a texture anymore.
today I have used your prefab builder for a new project and it's pretty awesome! Fast usage, great overview and some new brilliant options like the import prefab function. This enables to create whole new towns very easily. Thank you for your work Hal!
Thanks Peppino, glad you're finding it useful! Yeah the original idea for the importer was my way of trying to create dynamic towns based on a few house prefabs. Swap the placements around a bit so you don't go through the same generic town every time.
Thanks Hal, I can see everything now. :) But I did find something weird going on. Wsiegel
So far the last entity will revert to a supply crate when I reload the prefab for further edits. I think it only happens when I place more than one entity of the same type... but will check.
DarkNightsComing
This may be related to cars. I can not replicate it. Although I've tried using 7.7 b7 and converting to 7.8 and created a new 7.8 prefab. Neither had an issue. I'll make a prefab with a car and test this real quick like. Back in a jiffy. EDIT: Threw together a 50 cube deep 20x20 grid area. On every floor I threw cars of differing types. Loaded it into the world, shows up correctly. Does not revert to any other block type. Maybe its possible to had a bad block come in during the upgrade? I did not copy my previous editor or its settings, prior to extracting the new editor. Give it a shot straight out of the zip file and resetting up your config settings from scratch (shouldn't take but a minute to do so Wsiegel). [note: there are dupes in the prefab to test "same entity" type issue, still nothing] You could always compress the prefab and I'll give it a shot to see if it does it to me. Your call. Sorry I'm only able to help that much bro.
Wsiegel
The other block type only appeared when I reloaded the prefab back into the editor. I noticed it happened on the cars once I changed the rotation and updated the entity. it shows in game okay ( rotated )... then I reload into the editor and I see a supply crate and the info displays this also. To test I play one car at 0x one at 90x one at 180x and one at 270 x save then reload... One has changed during reload. sent my .tts to Hal to test. Thanks for the test. Wsiegel
No worries, just trying to help out. :0)
Thanks.. I just repeated the problem... Create a new file 10x10x10, 1st level all grass blocks. hit "+" to next level. Added one of each car ( gray, yellow, red, blue ) one space diagonal in from each corner block. Switched to Info and left clicked on each block. Changed the X to 90 and update, 180 and update, and 270 and update on three of the cars. switched back to block mode and saved the file. Closed the program. restarted the program and reloaded... now a supply crate in one of the car spots.
DarkNightsComing
@Wsiegel Good to know the steps taken. I wasn't clicking anything else (info or anything). Going to give this a shot. @Hal Bro I tried replying with a congratulations but your inbox is full lol :0) PS: Inbox me if there is anything I can do to assist. Cheers to both
HAL9000
Found the problem for the random supply crate. My bad - I'd left some debugging code in there. The coding gods are not pleased with me. I may have to sacrifice a mouse to appease them. Usual link for the updated version Cheers, Hal

DarkNightsComing
This error when clicking in the white box again hehe :0) Same goes for the right side and most likely the main middle if no prefab is started. DarkNightsComing
Removing the bottom row from a prefab will create an "air" filled left side column through all layers
Wsiegel
I couldn't get the white box click error tried several methods, start new but place nothing, no created file.. no error for me. I did get the left column cleared when removing the bottom row. Nice find.
DarkNightsComing
The left column add with "air" will overwrite all left side first columns, not "add" a new column. Just so I word this correctly. ;0) The other error with the clicking. You have to click it to death in the white area of the: 1. big box on the left side, 2. big box on the right side, or 3. in the middle of just loading up the prefab editor without creating a new prefab / not loading a prefab. HAL9000
Thanks guys, Next round of bug stomping is done. Fixed: Error message when clicking the listboxes when they have nothing selected. Fixed: Removing bottom layer would wipe all blocks in the first column. Fixed: Click mashing the main area would cause the prefab to stop drawing. Added: Program should warn you if you load a layer with un-recognised blocks and paint the area black. (untested) Usual link Cheers, Hal

Sho'nuff
Love the editor Hal. Had an idea for an addition, if it wouldn't be to difficult it may be nice to have a launch game button inside the editor.

Laz Man
Hi Hal, Just tried your new build and because of some of the blocks in my previous prefabs have been removed in 7.8, an infinite loop of error messages pop up when trying to open said prefab. One of the errors mention that the block was removed and will show up black, however, because of the constant stream of error messages, I am unable to replace the old blocks with new ones. You should be able to replicate this problem by loading up my school prefab. I am eager to go back to all of my released prefabs to update them. Thanks. HAL9000
Hey Laz Man, Thanks for that. I didn't know I had one to test with. It's updated now (usual link ) It will now just show one message box when you change the layer to let you know there's unknown blocks. Cheers, Danny
Hi Hal, Just tried your new build and because of some of the blocks in my previous prefabs have been removed in 7.8, an infinite loop of error messages pop up when trying to open said prefab.
