Working Ovens and Sinks

Honestly don't know as you can see i only edited as on each mod and add the rest as per instructions, the oven works fine, it's just the sink no error just plain won't fill up a jar which is the Action it should do.

 

So i will edit and put it below and see what happens and report back, thanks for looking and helping me out stalionsden.

Edited the code placed it below the 100 group, started a new SP game and still nothing.

No worries i most likely wrong. But can you also post your output.log found in common/7 days to die/7daystodie_data if it still occurs as well

Yeah i remember getting a error to the gearmechanism (that's why i recalled it as soon as i saw it) on console when it was loading and would not load the game in 14.3, tried it again now for 14.4 and since didn't get any errors figured it was ok, guess will have to wait for Valdar as that is also from 1 of his mods, but thank you for trying man really!

So first, unrelated to the sinks, lets fix that recipe problem. Its my fault. It comes from my expanded player storage mod. I accidentally left that line in one of the recipes. Sorry about that. Open the recipes.xml and search for gearMechanism. There is only one in the recipes.xml, fro the cntEPSWallSafe. Sorry again.

 

 

Now, the sink issue. Actually... it works fine for me. I left click a working sink with the empty jar and it was filled. This is with using your config folder with no modification.

 

1971 and 1972 are the working sinks. The other two are not. Again, are you sure you're using the correct ones?

I'm a MORON, but do me a favor on your OP, make the font bigger, bold and change the color to where it clearly says it uses LEFT CLICK of mouse...i kept using right click lmao, force of habit, but hey at least we got that little code thing fixed LOL!

 

What the hell now that I sorted that out I guess I'll start from 0 again so i can update to 14.5 and try the Unofficial XML as i have never used them, thanks again and sorry for wasting your time guys!

On a server the instructions are practically identical to how you'd do it on a single-player game. The difference is on a rented server inorder to access the files you'd need FTP access with something like FileZilla. Though a lot of game hosts do have some in-browser way for you to change the files.

 

The xml files are in your game directory - data folder - config folder.

 

There are some guides in the tutorial section I believe.

Small update. Only making a post about it because other modders might find it interesting. Turns out we don't need to make a whole list of extra recipes specifically for this to work.

 

<property name="CraftingAreaRecipes" value="campfire" />

 

This property tells the workstation to use the recipe list of the campfire. So now any recipe you make for a campfire will also work with the oven without you having to make separate recipes specifically for the oven. Helps keep things tidy.

Is there any reason you set it to action 0 instead of 1?

I just manually added your bowls, and bucket to be able to get filled in your sinks, and noticed it was set to left mouse (as you wrote in the post).

Buckets doesn't fill murky water, so i just added the sink to the list of of action1. So my question is, instead of adding clean water to action0 is it not possible to 'duplicate' the action1 class, and in the 'duplicate' add change_item_to on jars to bottledWater on action1?

The reason i ask this, even though it should be obvious that it doesn't work like that is because:

I added your modified jars and forgot to remove the old jars. So i ended up with jars that could be filled in a sink, BUT because of the duplicate entry, their stack size was 15 (Original) even though i made the stack size 100 (on your modded).

So it seemed as if it got the 'fill this jar in a sink' part from your code, but kept the 'stack size is 15 biartch' from the original. I hope you see where i am going with this. :p

 

Edit: So i went ahead and tested this out, having a duplicate entry with the jars, where one had action1 set to murkywater, and the other clean. Does not work. :p

 

Edit2: Neither does having duplicate action1 class. :p

 

Edit3: This post is void, unless you have given it more thoughts to a workaround. :)

I'm using the oven you made, but i can get the sound to work. when you open and close the oven. any idea ?

The campfire cooking sound is attached to the particle effect. As the oven is not setup to have such an effect it will not produce any sound.
