On consistency, balance and gear mods (a21 direction)

I am big fan of creative games like 7d2d but there are are things that could get focused in future alphas . After some thought it would be better to look at systems that don't work or re-balance the game in wider sense then add more new shiny stuff without some consideration . When i say balance i mean looking where did game go with certain ideas and where it didn't. I give you two examples, first with electricity and engineering. Most of the high tech stuff went into direction of horde night defense ( traps, electric fences, gates, turrets etc.) and mobility/exploration (vehicles, new vehicle mods, drones). On the other side of the spectrum we have more static and peaceful part of the game that makes my base feel like home/workshop. Now this part didn't evolved that much. With electricity we got few lights and with a20 new block shapes. Do not get me wrong you can build beautiful base in this game but it feels a little bit empty. With all the motion sensors, turrets and gyrocopters we still cook food on campfires. So to balance things out we should get now electric cookers ,electric forges and other "tier 2" workstations plus getting some new home appliances like coffee makers, drink chillers, cornmeal grinders, new lights, electric neon signs etc. Now for the second example lets take zombies. So again development heavily focused on horde nights adding demo zombies, nerfing pole/plate blocks working on AI ,but your average "12 oclock middle of the main street" experience is rather poor. We got empty streets with zombies "hiding" in POI's cupboards. So again maybe a21 should go in direction of making your average day experience much more exiting. Now as for balance in regular sense i think the resource economy have top priority, survival game should "eat up" more resources then 7d2d does its not easy task but i would like to see more changes like with farming but maybe with some more insight ( what we lost in vegetables we got back in absurd amounts of animals) Next point would be fixing these little inconsistencies where you going with certain idea and doing some weird exceptions or making holes. Lets take weapons for example. Most  melee weapons got 3 tiers ( primitive, iron and steel ) but stun baton was left without any progression, now it got tier 1 but still no tier 3.  All weapons got power attack except spear that got really bad alternative that leaves you empty handed. Now lets look at mods for weapons, some of them got some decent choice (mace) and for some i can hardly find enough to fill the slots (spear). So in general i would like to see more consistency. Last point would be redoing whole armor/weapon/vehicle mod system. There is simply not enough mods to make your gear somewhat unique. I think weapons and armor should get more stats like crit chance, armor penetration, haste and just go full RPG road to make more mods possible without to much coding. I think we could get Alpha that is balancing the game and adds new stuff at the same time if there is enough insight and testing.

OP wants:

  • Electric cookers (stoves I guess?)
  • Electric forges (and other Tier 2 workstations)
  • Coffee makers
  • Drink chillers
  • Cornmeal grinders
  • Neon lights (and more lights in general)
  • More zombies in the streets
  • Higher resource consumption and/or balance (lost vegetables but gained meat?)
  • Tier 3 stun baton
  • Get rid of/change the spear's alternate (thrown) attack
  • More spear mods
  • Redo the entire armor/weapon/vehicle mod system
  • More mod stat effects - crit chance, haste, armor penetration, etc.

I have a few small things I'd really like to see get added for improvements as well:

  • navy beans
  • a hobo stove to better represent how we use campfires
  • usable shopping carts that we can push around town
  • more colors of duck tape. There's at least 20 different colors and patterns available at the hardware store but we only have one?
  • add the suicide effect of glass to acid bottles
  • wrenching an acid barrel should give us a 2% chance to turn into a Batman villain
  • zip lines and grapnels so I can turn into Batman and PvP people who wrench acid barrels
  • more dances added to the emote menu
  • an emote menu
  • edible glue that you can make the glue fingerprints with
  • fishing (Seriously. Every game has fishing but this one)

FFS it's duct tape! DUCT tape!

Nm, you're an obvious troll from the @%$#ed things on this list.

Edible glue indeed. You really need to stop eating that @%$#!

I could respond several ways here but I won't. I've reached my daily allotment of tomfoolery, chicanery and shenanigans and it's only 3:13pm.

On topic, I'd be happy with 4 mod slots regardless of tier.

I can deal with the inferior stats but when I plan out a build and I actually have the mods I want to be able to use them and not be dependant on RNJesus.

The tier 5 at a minimum, if you're going to invest that many points you deserve it.
