  1. Hello, i just want to add, that a player on our dedicated server has the exact same problem. Trying to start the game via Steam results in the above mentioned popup stating "invalid filename". She can only run the game through the 7DaysToDie exe in the game folder. It started with the version before A20.5 B2 Stable, which only fixed the EAC error that was mentioned in the patchnotes. She is also running Windows 11 She was always on the stable branch She cleaned game data with the launcher She verified the file integrity twice through Steam Here are some players, which seem to have the same issue: wont launch on steam Invalid file name invalid filename

  3. Hi, well i am not an expert, but what i would do is generate the same seed on the server again and after that upload the backed up files. I'd assume that should work.
  4. Well, maybe the green arrows of the Dart Traps, that indicate the firing direction, could be reused for that purpose?
  5. I had the same issue on our server, when spawning in traders. My guess would be, all quest POIs are too far away, so the trader only offers buried supplies quests.
  6. Hello, it would be great, if the writable storage boxes could be painted, just like the normal storages boxes, to better fit the base design. To make sure, the text written on the storage box is still readable on every texture, the font could be white with a black outline.
  7. I also noticed, my drone likes to hover over my forge and/or campfire, thus catching fire and taking damage. You can hear the burning sound, whent it happens.
  8. Oh, too bad then I can recommend the mod ServerTools. It has an option for automated backups. Just set it up once and you will always have recent backups. https://github.com/dmustanger/7dtd-ServerTools
  9. On our dedicated server, everything works fine after the 20.5 update. Maybe try to restore your "power.dat" from your latest backup.
  10. Summary: EAC kick on MP Server connect, because loading DMesh files takes too long Output log: https://pastebin.com/dQX6F8QY Console Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/RLJKyvT Game Version: 20.5 (b2) stable Platform: Steam OS/Version: Windows 10 (10.0.19044) 64bit CPU Model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz (cores: 4) System Memory: 32 GB dualchan GPU Model and VRAM: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Video Settings: Custom Game mode: Client on dedi, RWG Did you wipe old saves? Yes (Server started fresh map with a20 stable), local data was deleted via launcher Did you start a new game? Yes (Server started fresh map with a20 stable) Did you validate your files? Yes Are you using any mods? No, not locally. The server has some a20 compatible modlets (like vehicle respawner, etc) EAC on Status: NEW Bug Description: When connecting to the MP Server, the loading of the DMesh files takes too long (using a freshly defragmented 5400 rpm HDD, not a SDD), which results in the error: When connecting again to the same Server, without quitting 7 Days to die, i can connect fine as most DMesh files are already buffered in RAM, resulting in a shorter loading time. This behavior started with the first version that introduced the DMesh system. I think it happened the first time, when the amount of DMesh files had grown to a larger amount/size. Actual result: see above Expected result: The game (or EAC) should wait long enoug, until all DMesh files are loaded.
  11. Well, the ServerAdmin would need to pass the *.ttp & *.ttp.bak files to the player and the player would have to copy them into a SP game, start & quit it and then give the 2 "repaired" files back to the ServerAdmin, who can upload them to the server. Of course it is a bit work, but at least the player won't have to restart from lvl 1, when using the second option, which is deleting the player profile on the server. Or we just wait, if the latest patch "repairs" the bloated profiles if the stable version is released.
  12. I want to add some additional info. When i had the "ERR NCSimple_Serializer (ch=0)" & "EXC Memory stream is not expendable" error on our hosted Multiplayer server, i did shut down the server, deleted the drones.dat and drones.dat.bak files, restarted the server and the error was gone, along with all drones of course. I did not ever deploy a new drone after that. I am currently NOT having any problems on our server, but i just noticed, checking via ftp, that my player profile (*.ttp & *.ttp.bak) files are 2093913 bytes large. So > 2 MB. So just the fact, that my profile is larger than 2 MB, does not seem to cause an error with 100% certainity. I looked at the last part of my profile with a text- & hex editor and will attach screenshots, in case it will be helpful for the devs (if they read in this forum anyway). The data in the screenshots repeats until the end of file.
  13. I also deleted the drones. dat and my problem is gone... I did not deploy a new drone tho, because i don't want the error to return
  14. Oh, i was just writing a "real" bugreport... I guess i don't have to do it then ? So is there any way i can still play? I guess deleting "drones.dat" would fix it, but everyone on the server would lose his/her drone ? Anything i can do?
  15. Hello, After the current gameupdate 20.4 (b42) i have an issue on the multiplayer server i am playing (and co-admining) on. At first, everything worked with the new version. After playing a few hours, the console popped up with thes flollowing errors, which causes that boxes can't be opened anymore (nothing happens when pressing 'e') and the sound of jumping and walking is also gone. The nature sound is still there. ERR NCSimple_Serializer (ch=0) EXC Memory stream is not expendable I quit the game, restarted it and after i am loggin in the game and doing nothing, a few seconds (5-10) later the same 2 errors pop up in the console. I deleted the mapdata of this server with the launcher, rebooted my machine and connected again. The map downloaded completely, but after a few seconds the 2 errors popped up again. Now i am out of ideas what to do and can't play anymore. Any pointers to what is going on there? In the server log are no entries connected to this problem, it seems to be locally only. Outputlog -> https://pastebin.com/BsWfACg8 I just validated my gamefiles via Steam, reconnected and did nothing (just staring at the screen) after i was logged in and after 17 seconds the 2 errors appeared again.
  16. I noticed the same on our server... Only Burried Supplies quest, Tier I-III
  17. I agree, the drone should keep 1 block more distance to the player in either x/y/z axis, because it is always disturbing when you are placing blocks or want to replant your garden. The "stay here" option doesn't do me any good, since i always forget to let my drone follow me again... lol
  18. I like that idea... I also would prefer to be able to craft a level 1 clawhammer to craft a workbench. It would also be nice to be able to craft low level tools, to sell them in a shop (vending machine) on a MP Server for low level players, which usually can not afford high level tools yet
  19. Hi, i also experience the same problem and it happened in A19 already. The info i can add is: If you can't turn the forge off, put some fuel (eg wood) in the 2nd or 3d fuel slot. Then you can turn the forge off and remove the fuel from all slots. I think everytime, or most of the time, this happened, when i smelted something in the forge (eg. 6000 stone to fill the max amount of 30000 in the forge) and the fuel was burning longer then the smelting needed. It is also possible, that i maybe left the chunk of my base, as i went looting or questing in the meantime. I usually put 16 woodlogs in fuelslot #1, and 3000 stone in each of the 2 smelting slots. That's all i can add, maybe something can be helpful for investigating. Oh, and since i only play on MP Servers, i don't know if it would happen in a SP game too.
