When I press "Shift+Q" to teleport, my drone appears behind me and 5 more copies of it. Yesterday there was only 1 copy but they are multiplying!
Is there some kind of console command to fix?
    Restart doesent help
    Su@cide doesent help
    break apart drones doesent help

I apologize in advance if I posted the topic in the wrong place.

Have you tried shooting them? They do take damage. They might not go away but can't follow if they're broken. Just an afterthough. Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

    Hello - Engineer here 😀

Lol. Engineer here too. But being a whole-brainer, I see anything as possible provided I can secure the funding  to implement/develop the concept . 🤯

It's worked well thus far. My contraptions are still producing widgets. Didn't make me rich. That's where I messed up...🤓 A lot of fun along the journey though.

Perhaps individual slabs of natural slate just vary a lot in thickness and luster?  We need a geologist... @DaVegaNL?

I can say that indeed layers of slate vary in thickness and appearance. Trust me. I'm not a geologist but I always wanted to be one.  (Kinda  like Trader Jen - she's not displayed her shingle (diploma) - hold up there @SnowDog1942). At one time not too long ago, slate shingles were common on roofs. These were replaced by more modern (lighter weight) materials and since these slate tiles were hand-hewn and had perceived value, they were stored.  To come back as machined-out coasters for this game. Wouldn't mind having one but probably kinda late for that.

Now, if some amusement park would create a zombie roller coaster based on this game, I'd at least own the plastic sippy cup with the 7Dtd logo on it. Assuredly the ride would be finished before a Gold version of the game was released. 🎢

Anyone remember when months ago I expressed concern about how the perk trees would be repopulated/reorganized because of the gaps left by removing the crafting perks?

Splitting SexRex into individual perks papers over some of those gaps without any increase in functionality for the player, but this also implies incentivizing the use of less popular melee weapons by not forcing spending outside of the attribute to reduce stamina usage.  Is this enough though when melee is primarily used early game to conserve ammo and is better served by points into Rule #1: Cardio and a hit and run strategy? It isn't stamina use that causes the sledge and club to be chosen early game, but that knockdown and knockback can create space for the player, neither the spear nor the baton does this in early game.  This could be addressed by massaging the crit rate for both to cause more limb damage and also create space for the player without altering the fundamental playstyle for either.

As for the remaining gaps in the perk tree, the lack of utility in both the intellect and perception trees is still the elephant in the room and I'm still concerned about how those will be addressed.

    Hold me?

Don't intend to burst the bubble, but I for one can't remember what I read yesterday, let alone some post from a number of weeks ago. Just say that what we do (and expect) now will no longer be valid in A21. That's a given. How it all pans out we'll just have to wait and see. Oh, I won't forget the sexy saurus memes though. Kinda burned into my psyche for all time to come. 😉

  5. Once the novelty wore off, I just stopped deploying a drone. As I found them to be more of a nuisance than a help. It's still a bit of a new feature, so they'll fix it soon enough. I must look into shift-Q and what that might do. And I haven't teleported. Might be fun, though being tailed by 4 or more drones doesn't sound like fun. I'd say just start over. You will eventually 🙂

I frequently play with settings and I can tell you that less time or more time is pretty relevant when you trim the amount of resources you can reasonably gather in that time.  This includes mission rewards, looting, mining, xp gain, etc etc.  It means you can dilate or tighten up how much time you intend to spend doing this things before horde nights.  These are the biggest impacts I have gathered.  Finding the right equilibrium of fun Vs resource gathering Vs building is sublime if you hit it right where it feels the most satisfying.   I play longest days possible, but my gathering and looting is tuned down, making sure I need to fill that day doing what I NEED to do for my character to survive.  Every day is a grind for that survival and just feels the most fulfilling to me.

Effectively what this does for me is to extend the early game quite a bit, which is arguably my most enjoyable part of the game.  I get much more bored with well built characters because most of my needs are already met by the time I'm level 100 ish.

Well said. I on the other hand boost my loot to 150, diminsh the zed damage and give my self a boost in the ability to take damage, much prefer longer days. And, horrors, I've been playing with horde nights off as of late. Still plenty of opportunities to get my buttocks handed to me by the zeds. But that comes later, like at gamestage 150 ish. Thanks for the options TFP.

Every now and then there's going to be a buzzard in the forest biome that just flies around and doesn't do anything, unless I take damage then it attacks me. Lol.

Sometimes the buzzer will swoop along the ground just like the brothers do here. Always reminds me of them. I like the buzzards here they're kind of cool. I despise the buzzerds in this game.

Having said that, I'd like to have a pet buzzard. Wouldn't be hard to feed.

It's rumored that they're kinda smelly. Never managed to get close enough to those that live in the midwest (buzzards that is) because me driving by the road kill always caused them to just up and go. But yeah, feeding them may not be such a challenge, since they don't seem to be picky eaters 🤢. Kinda miss their old style in-game AI though. Seeing one would pretty much ensure a whallop to the back of the head at some point.

I have seen the vultures in the African sub-continent, with their necks blood red from burrowing into the carcass of some gazelle. But I crept up on foot armed with a 35 mm 📸....:sneakiness:

I might contribute to Adopt a Buzzard if Trader Jen would be their spokesperson though.

  8. 🤠Gonna try this again. I laid down a few sentences when the whole site took a bow. Grrr.

Nice work. I have usually 18 to 21 crates on my left, and 2 for metals and concrete on my right. Never was a Jay Leno, had at most a motorcycle and maybe a 4x4, so didn't consider parking as a priority. Nice base.

I did research it. Thanks (I think). I don't have an aviary. And feather fluff triggers my nose to itch, a lot.  But I was just presented with a dish of the largest strawberries ever! Let's drag this thread down another notch. They're not quite ripe enough, but flavor is good!

Ok, next time I'll behave Roland. Strawberries were tasty though.

I have eaten at least 12 (big fat strawberries, not feathers).  After a while one can gather too many feathers to craft iron arrows, steel tips are a bit better. Never tried to sell Trader Joel a bunch of feathers. They become something eggstra from the nest, then just put into the archery chest.

    Was it Prom Night?

My final years of high school were weird enough without pulling zombies into the story, but then again I'd bet I was quite a few thousand Km's away from that high school dance. Really? The girls were ugly or the teachers were gonna eat yer brains?😊

We didn't have Prom Night, and not all of the girls would make it on the front of some magazine, but they were all pleasant. Some of the teachers though managed to get by with sucking up our souls though. Some I wouldn't mind confronting today. Like on horde night.

Unless you have a high wall. If you don't they will also go over the wall by stepping on each others shoulders, but in that case they are easy to snipe head shots as they poke their heads over a 3 high wall.

Also, I meant 2 "thick" / five "high" steel walls not 2 "high" walls, that would not work do to their hopping on each others shoulder to easily and over the wall . I always have 3 high walls to start my temp base.

And yes, I do exploit their degree in engineering (finding a block that has 1 HP less than another one right next to it) by leaving 2 lesser material blocks 2 high, to have easy paths for me to defend myself, and guilt free I might add.

About mid-game I'll have concrete walls 5 high, except one place. Yep, just need one block of cobblestone on the second row. That's where the zeds go and punch. Head shots!  Later one can have upgraded to steel all around, and place a single strength vault door to do the same thing. Zeds must have been graduates of Social Engineering rather than the the real thing. Lol.

However, if I try to repurpose an existing poi, they seem to remember where a door was (I bricked it up). Headshots again.

I'm not a fan of double thick walls, because I can't from the inside see the damage, so its kind of a false sense of security. But, since I have to go outside to effect repairs anyway (can't get to the corner blocks from inside) it's probably a toss-up. We all have our spin on how to play.

  14. It may be a bot, but it's certainly a restrictive one. I tried a login but was informed it's not available in my region. Like it should make a difference as to what parcel of the planet I reside in. Probably a local thing though. I'm used to it.

Would be willing to wager dollars to doughnuts that some of the bot contributors have ensured that at least 1.3 billion people can't access it.

Ah, upon further research I learned that Microsoft is involved, and that's probably why it's blocked here. Not surprised in the least now. At all. Should rename the concept, because its not 'OpenAI' Its more like 'SelectiveAI'.

I played around with the Dalle-E image generator weeks ago, and even then it was a hit-and-miss scenario. It kinda all comes together now. Useful for some, declined to others.

    Thanks anyways.

Yeah, I've been remiss on this thread. I've not re-tested anything. What i desire is the door to open for me, me only. Yes, trip wires and the plates do work, but for the enemy also. Guess I wasn't clear enough with my intent.

We'll progress. Or we'll continue to put our vehicle in our pocket as we ascend the ladder.

Yer good. thanks for the input. Lolz. They dropped all covid testing here as of yesterday. I'll still wear a mask.

Well, now that you said that, I went and checked my game - I wasn't sure if the "self" setting of the motion sensor would recognize the vehicle. Seeing the vehicle instead of the player would be a plausible source for issues, but I'm happy to report it seemed to work fine. Solo game, so the vehicle was placed by me - who knows, ownership might matter... :)

See what happens when you leave things to cold simple logic? No mention of 9 years and going in early access or the removal of the bot's favorite feature..... lol

    Pretty cool though!

Yep Roland. No where in the game description did I see trhe word 'perfect'. I've blasted my negativity too. But after more than 11k of game hours I haven't tired of the thing yet. And the next iteration will probably give cause to me complaining again. But I'll be back.

Hope you'll still be here with us.
