I also looked around the ground to see if it would be there but didn't see it. I would just like to think someone picked it up to use as a weapon and walked off with it. That puts my mind at ease.  :)

..maybe add some paint chipping texture to where it should be...

  2. The only critique I ever had that was linked to the female character was not about the character itself, but how and when it was presented to the community. That I would have appreciated if devs had presented it alongside other female options to give a more balanced overview.

... did they not show another female, one that is all bundled up as a bandit?

And they've already said that is likely the only outfit like that, and that all the others more closely mirror the male versions. Yet people get so hung up on one. single. outfit. I'd be willing to bet this offended people will end up even using that outfit in game once it arrives. Lol.

Of course, A22 will likely be delayed now thanks to these 2-3 overly-sensitive people. 😂

What doesn't make the sense to me is the acknowledgment that different people have different tastes, but then they go after the other person's taste. Doesn't make any sense.

I was trying to help those that forget about our modding community that were complaining about no new zombies yet. Sorry I didn't realize they were from A15 but at least it's something. I think there are other Zombie mods out there so..

... People play video games to immerse themselves in their player. To roleplay.

Male characters tend to be buff and muscular, female characters tend to be thin and big breasted.

Is not new, and certainly not wrong.  These are physical ideals that most people have.

I'm sure there may be one or two people in the universe who want to play as a genetic mutation created by inbreeding, but we are definitely not the norm and I am not opposed to a company catering to the masses.

This entire woke conversation is stupid.

I'm glad the pimps are not catering to the 0.001% that seem to complain the most.

Besides, if I recall correctly, the game is set after a nuclear war and then after a zombie apocalypse, so the people who would have survived would most likely be in great shape.

I'm just picking at you a bit. 🙂

There are a few working Mods that add different zombies to satisfy the want for different or new zombies, while The Fun Pimps work on the game. Simply add the mod and BAM!

...when trying to push the idea of variety, showing off ugly old a15 UMA zombies may not be the best sell. 😃

Yes. But it never went past the idea phase.  I really like the burnt zombie model for an undead zombie model and wouldn't mind replacing most of the models in the game with that model and having the rest be rare sightings as if the nukes burnt everyone to a crisp but didn't kill them but making them look basically the same. But then there would be some exceptions that were perhaps more recently turned people. Seems like that would be a pretty easy modlet to make...maybe.

Oddly, Xyth had a super low poly horde night only zombie; I wish I had tried it, because I think during a BM would be the best time to have a genetic model.  Sort of a "they only come out at night" model.  But turns out, AI is the real killer, so... <shrug>

  8. You'd be wrong.  Seeing the same zombies with different skins definitely adds variation. And you stop seeing the glaring similarities.

Madmole's logic is also wrong.  Minecraft works because it's ONE zombie skin, which our brain begins to discard.  Seeing 15 zeds and 9 are alike is more distracting than seeing 15 of the same.

He is right that they have better things to do tho.

Having code change the tint of a shirt material on spawn also wouldn't add any real overhead btw.

Been there, done it, just saying.

    Fight me. 😉

That is nice that modders can do that, but we need to make sure that vanilla is going to work on many years worth of PCs, Mac, Linux, consoles and lot of different GPUs. Currently, the game barely fits in Xbox Series S memory and quickly runs out as you try to play it, so memory is a great concern and we are doing a lot of work to reduce usage of. Streaming/unloading will help, but that is not a Unity strength, so some programming time is going to trying to improve that, without lag spikes loading data.

I'm one of the most prolific modders and I 100% agree with faatal on this.  Modding is easy, developing a game with industry standards is a different animal.  And most of the modders *I* know would agree.

  10. Boats are definitely doable (we have boat mods) and it really does add an element, but I honestly wouldn't consider it game changing unless there was a good *reason* to boat.

Like fishing or diving.  And fishing mods require the block item swap property to work with the method we use, and I'm super curious if the new water will support that.

All in all, as much as I like boats, they'd be wasted imo, without a reason for them.

I hate arguing against new features. :)

There is no point to making a higher tier stone weapon need more stone. Getting stone is trivial. Please devs, do not waste a moment on figuring out whether yellow tier should require 12 stones and 15 wood rather than 9 stones and 12 wood. It just isn't worth it...

Agreed. The quality level is just that, quality. It should not necessarily require more materials.

So I'm still not crazy !!!) Because I remember that I had a moment that I had 3 sleeping bags. Models then were angular ... and after death I mistakenly revived very far, because 2 sleeping bags were nameless ... it was 2014, it seems .. And maybe I'm definitely wrong now, but at that time the food spoiled in the game and attracted the smell of undead .. here I'm not sure.

It didn't spoil but there was a smell mechanic.

... The system was unfortunately replaced when they decided to minimize the amount of zombies in the game by sticking them inside cupboards instead of outside in the cities.

No, there was never the possibility of multiple bedroll respawn choice after death.

The only option has always been to choose between spawning on the bedroll or near the bedroll.

In A21, for the first time, we will have the option to spawn at the location where we dropped the backpack after dying.

Yes there was.   Iirc you'd choose your bedroll on the map.

Friday, I started on the forge mesh showing/hiding each tool and it seems to be working. This will probably make it into A21. Code supports all workstation types, so will be simple enough to do the rest as new models/features are added.

What's the xml look like on that, i.e. will we be able to target some lines and use our own meshes?

I had a question about how things like trash and bird nests disappear after they are looted. Do those things refresh and reappear, or are they gone forever?

I get that a cupboard block will change from closed (when it has an inventory) to open when it is empty. Do those also still refresh after so many days, or are they looted forever?

Are you talking about with the chunk reset? If so then that stuff should reappear.

well.... he first called the helipad a "teleport" and thats when prime made that face that to me realy translated to "damn he @%$#ed up" then he corrected himself and called an helipad but again he said that it had some feature involving alpha 22 and they werent going to talk about that quite yet.

Also i noticed the helipad has a nice little "station" near it which would make sense if that is some sort of teleport thing.

I could be wrong tho, but i guess that helipad is a teleport station somehow. maybe even thats why i saw some trader POIs having a T flag on them and some others dont and just had a white flag.

again.... just my thoughts from what i saw.... i could be wrong. lol

As a person with a portal mod I'm very excited to see an official TFP implementation, but as a player, fast travel is just another way to appease casuals and lessen the game difficulty, and I'm hopeful they're easy to mod out. :)

Also, since many questions are gonna be asked in the next streams.. I remember the waterfall of text in Twitch chat, that made The Pimps unable to read some questions properly, so would there be some sort of separate thread here in the forum, where we can ask and they answer properly ?

Roland used to have a Q/A thread that a question list was derived from for the stream, but I dunno what CC will do.
