  1. I agree. I think the whole weather system is overdone. I guess the devs are trying to instill a "mood" to the game with all of the rain and fog but IMO the only thing it accomplishes is annoyance. Couple this lack of visibility with the added damage to vehicles when you run into an ore node because it just appeared right in front of you giving you no time to avoid it and voila! More fun! More difficulty! Nope...more annoyance and frustration. Pack your repair kits!!!
  2. Hmmm...I'm still on A21B324 (?) so I haven't updated to A21.1 yet. Maybe there is a difference there? I'll have to go back and double-check those speeds but I'm 99% sure I'm correct on those two vehicles.
  3. You don't have to kill and harvest every deer you see. Once I get enough meat for the play through, which isn't all that much really, I let those animals live! I don't see a problem with the amount of deer in A21.
  4. I didn't check the minibike but the motorcycle and 4x4 had their normal speeds reduced from 14m/s to 13m/s. With the super charger, the speed was increased from 17m/s to 18m/s. I think the gyro was changed in the same fashion as well. I looked at it because the motorcycle and 4x4 seemed slower than they were in A20 without the super charger, and they are.
  5. LOL. Right after I make my post I find it. There is a switch in the backyard near the tent back there that needs to be turned on. Some Zs come down from the roof, including two vultures. I won't forget this one!
  6. So I've done this POI twice now on clear missions and both times I can't find the last Zs I need to clear. I run through the property 3 or 4 times and nothing. There is no gold (or red) circle on the map or in my compass to point me towards the last zombies. Has anyone else experienced this same thing? Is there some hidden room or something I'm not finding? It's frustrating to not be able to finish the POI and lose out on the rewards.
  7. I had this happen to me recently where it was day 84 and I was doing the Two Bit Tower T5 quest. I was about half way up the building when the 2200 sound effect kicked in. I had one of those "oh ****" moments as I totally forgot it was a horde night. I guess maybe because that building isn't that tall the horde spawned. I fought valiantly but didn't make it, LOL.
  8. With the 4x4 I had a bug happen where I'm driving on open land in the desert. All of a sudden the screen stutters, then freezes, then goes dark. A second later it comes back and I find myself, still in the 4x4, inside a house with the 4x4 stuck between a wall and a couch. Of course Zs were all over it so I had to jump out, kill the Zs and then empty the truck, pick it up, drop it outside and reload my stuff into it.
  9. Yep, you are right and they reduced the normal speed by 1m/s. In A20 the normal speed was 14m/s and with turbo it was 17m/s. In A21 the numbers are 13m/s and 18m/s. These numbers are for the motorcycle and 4x4.
  10. I have to craft way more in A21 than I ever did in previous alphas. That included food, drink, and building materials along with weapons, tools and armor. My play style is questing, questing, and more questing. That's how I progress and for me, if I get a tool or weapon that is a better quality than I can craft, I am happy about it and I'm not going to complain. It doesn't happen often at all. In previous alphas I bought most of my stuff because looting, with only fairly rare exceptions, never provided the gear I was looking for, and the traders had better stuff, especially when you put points into Better Barter, which is useless now.
  11. Wow. So I guess screamers are a regular thing when it comes to Tier 5 quests now. I was doing Navegane Corrections and I could hear a screamer but she was outside the walls. Lo and behold, she starts screaming. How in the heck could she see me? She was on the other side of the wall! Before I knew it, her and all of her friends, including more screamers, had busted through the wall and it was a freaking crazy time. I had dozens of Zs coming in from outside and dozens more coming out from the building. Thankfully I was able to survive it but I just about ran out of ammo. Then, I'm doing the Two Bit Tower and I could hear a screamer outside. I am inside the building, there was no way she could see me yet she starts screaming and again, before I know it I'm getting inundated with Zs coming into the building from outside. I thought the screamer had to see you before they would scream. What gives? I call BS on that.
  12. I was hoping TFP would address the pathing issues with the drone in A21 but no they haven't. The effing thing always gets right in your line of sight when you've got a gaggle of Zs coming at you. It's extremely distracting and aggravating. It may not actually be but it seems worse in this alpha than the last. It goes without saying that it still gets in the way when you're mining, building, and everything else. If it wasn't for the extra inventory space I wouldn't use it. Maybe I should look into a mod that gives your backpack more slots, but somehow that feels like cheating. TFP - PLEASE fix this!
  13. I agree. I think the damage done when you hit something is very excessive. If you're driving the 4x4, it's hard to NOT hit ore or rocks that suddenly appear right in front of you because the turning responsiveness in the truck is very slow. Hit something full speed...there goes about 17% to 18%. Also, slightly bump into something...there goes 7%. I hate having to carry around repair kits now, and it has completely taken the fun out of running over zombies simply because you can't do it anymore. I don't mind the idea of your vehicle taking damage when you hit something, but it should be no more than half of what it is now.
  14. There are a lot more deer in A21 than previous versions, but I sure don't see that as a problem!
  15. Last night I exited my game as usual and opened my saved game this morning. I step out of my base and all of my vehicles are gone. I had a bicycle, a minibike, and a motorcycle. What's weird is the icons are still on the map and compass. I went into debug so I could go beneath the surface to see if they were somehow underground but they were not. They are just gone.
  16. Thanks all - I didn't realize this change for A21. I think it makes sense though.
  17. You might try upping the difficulty level to Warrior or even Survivalist. That won't make much of a difference in the long run but it certainly does in the early going. I usually get to the point of nothing left to do and nothing more to loot at around day 70-ish, unless I want to finish all of the T5 quests. It's at that point that I'll start a new playthrough and then the fun and excitement is back.
  18. Ahhh, that's it. When I looked at it I was in the snow biome. Now I'm in the forest and it is 166. I guess I didn't realize the biome has an effect on game stage. Thanks!
  19. Hey Survivors, I am still in my first A21 playthrough. It is now Day 67 and I am Level 74. I've got 5440 kills with one death, playing on Warrior level. My game stage is 274. Is this normal? I don't think I ever reached that game stage in hundreds of hours in A20, playing to a much higher level on Survivor level with no deaths. It seems out of whack. Has anybody else noticed this?
  20. I agree, I think the debuffs are over the top now. I'm still in my first playthrough in A21 and I've had more concussions, broken arms and legs, major lacerations, infections, sprains, abrasions, and bleeding in the first week of the playthrough than I've had in hundreds of hours of playing in A20. To boot, in A20 I played on Survivor level. In A21 I'm playing on Warrior level. I think I would have died a thousand deaths by now if I was playing Survivor level.
  21. OK, thanks guys. It sounds like TFP are aware of it. How do I report it?
  22. So I'm in my first A21 playthrough and I've now had this happen twice where a T4 quest won't complete. Both were clear quests. One was Butcher Pete's, which I know very well and the other one is a new POI, Jeffelon Zuckergates Estate. I've spent 24 game hours scouring this POI over and over again trying to find the last zombie(s) to finish. This never happened in A20 (to me anyway), so I'm wondering if this is a bug? Has anyone else experienced this? It's very frustrating having to leave the POI and not get the trader rewards for it.
  23. I'm in my first playthrough in A21 and I have to say I have had a very different experience. I've had to craft everything as I haven't found jack squat worth anything in loot and the traders haven't had much to talk about either. In A20 I wouldn't have to craft much of anything as I either found good stuff or bought it. At least in this first playthrough I'd say crafting is more viable than it is in A20. We'll see how it goes in subsequent playthroughs.
