  1. Any plans for 21.2 updates? I mean it looks like it is running though, can´t speak for old saves, started it in A21.2 already, It´s just that the lock slots UI is there twice. And i´d like to use the quick stack mod if it works, but that would overlap with the modded in locking slots.

To be honest - it could be added like Total War Blood DLc Dlc ( many studios use DLC to exploit  countries law and PEGI) and everyone would be happy

From what i know it´s not about laws and PEGI, i think they said they simply don´t want any controversy around it and also personal preference from them. It´s been a while since i read about that though.

  3. @RStarphoenix Well we don´t play MP Coop to go loot on our own. And we have a base mom and a miner. So we end up with 2 looters, ofc we do quests all together aswell, but it´s only 2 that go looting most of their time. This is what i mean with forcing a certain playstyle. If you don´t wanna struggle everyone has to go looting on their own early game. That´s not the point of playing MP Coop. This along with the magazines givers every other playstlye than heavy looting a big disadvantage. Wich will hurt the longevity of the game if every playtrough is the same...

  4. The throwing mechanic was generally not seen as a good thing by the player base. Not because of the throwing part, but the hassle of  getting it back is what made it unpopular. The change was made due to popular demand.

Throwing it really only was a good idea with a single zombie, with a group of them you either needed to clog up your hotbar with 2 or 3 spears or another backup melee weapon. Basically you missed out on a lot of power attacks when using a spear.

The point of having a spear vs a fire axe is the reach ofc. And hte fact that the spear can penetrate 3 zombies at once with the right book. You should read trough the books and spear perks. The axe might seem better at first glance, but it really isn´t, for close up melee there is better options like the club or sledgehammer.

The water mechanic simply is badly done. I wouldn´t mind it too much if it would make water acutally more scarce. But it doesn´t, it still is an all you can drink buffet. The only thing it really does is forcing a certain playstyle.

@RStarphoenix the new system also hurts MP only. I have no water shortage in SP even without using a dew collector. That´s very different in MP. In SP you only need dew collectors if you want to use explosive arrows/bolts and the rocket launcher a lot. In MP you already need a football field full of dew collectors without using those....

  5. It´s definitly possible to not have one for a whole playtrough. But it kinda takes away a lot of pressure and challenge. On higher difficulties with higer blockdamage and 64 zombies, it´s a challenge to keep up with building a proper horde base and you need more ammo.

    2.  To TFP, have you considered a separate solo player settings setup to allow solo players the time to gather stuff while still doing jobs etc.???

Well MP has it downsides for blood moon aswell. A 4 player party can have demolishers on day 21. It´s hard to get to the crucible at your 3rd horde night and not having steel can go very wrong with demos around.

Why is that unfair, and why shouldn't they duck?

You seem to have a self-serving definition of fair.

You are in a POI and there is a plate or some other hard to spot block above the zombie. (No one checks every single spot in a POI if there is something small that will make a zombie duck). Zombies will duck and you will be surprised by that and instead off hitting them you will hit only air and they will hit you. That can be the end of a permadeath run due to a zombie ducking even if there was enough space for him to stand there.

And ast @8_Hussars said, they are instantly on the ground with no time to react due to the missing animation.

Where at G-portal ?? Cause I can't find that option?

Right now i have no server running. But i think it was at the general settings somewhere at the top, near the setting for map and such. They do have a great customer service, in the worst case just contact them and ask.

Because the transition animations between standing and crawling aren't in game yet, zombies can flick between standing and crawling instantaneously. This can look like they're ducking, and cause attacks to miss. They also get an instant attack when changing stance, which can catch you off guard.

I tend to avoid fighting anywhere there's a low ceiling. Doorways and the edges of attics with peaked roofs can be particularly bad.

Problem with this is that they sometimes duck even when there is enough room to stand for them, like when there is just a small block like a plate or sheet above them. Wich wasn´t too big of a deal until they introduced the permadeath setting. Now it´s actually unfair to die due to a zombie ducking when they actually shouldn´t and there is no way to tell the block causing them to do it is there.

Earlier today the DF mod was running fine.

I now get these error messages on the "Loading Game Data" screen after selecting my server.  The game then freezes and force quits.

ERR CRC Mismatch. Provided 55b099cf, calculated 48bfea92 from data. Will not load AssetBundle 'vehicles. bundle'

ERR XML loader: Loading and parsing 'blocks.xml' failed

EXC Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.

Has anyone else had this issue within the past few hours?

I guess you updated your game to A21.2? DF isn´t updated to it yet. You need to stay on A21.1

  10. If they can´t copy a folder into the game directory,  they should ask themselves if they aren´t better off playing on console tbh. It´s literally just copy/paste for many overhauls, for some you need to create the Mods folder first. I mean are there seriously people who own a PC and can´t do that? That´s PC knowledge 101 basically.

  11. If you play every overhaul mod there is, you are busy for a really long time, pretty sure once the game is finished there will be a bunch of new overhaul mods aswell. There are for sure modders that don´t wanna have to adapt twice every year to the new alpha wich means a ton of work for them. (Kudos to all the mod makers who do that) And that it isn´t a live service game like WoW was clear from the beginning. That would mean DLC´s you have buy or skins and other cosmetical items, because TFP would have to maintain a stable income.

Everyone who is interested in this game pretty much already bought it. Sure there will be new customers, but there won´t be a huge mass of new players buying anymore.

"I mean, that is basically what Alpha game development is."   For ten+ years?

" So if you liked a16 the best, you can keep on playing it. " - Alpha 17.4 has been crashing continually for me, so without bug fixes to back releases, that really isn't feasible long term.

Anyway, I'll check back on the status of the game if it moves to Beta.  Which I don't think will ever happen, but we will see.  Take care everyone

You people are funny. There is 2 games TFP is working on besides 7 days to die. One is 7 days Bloodmoons, and yes i do realize they outsourced it but it is still their game and there is a small team of TFP actually working on it, and one fully made by TFP where we have no idea what it is yet, other than it´s made with UE5. And you think they will never finish this one? Do you really think they are stupid?

I hope there will be cake.  Cake sounds lovely.

I know there will be a steaming pile of posts about the game never leaving early access and beeing a scam. Telling TFP to release and keep updating the game. To this day none of those people could ever explain why it is important that the game counts as released if it is still beeing worked on....

  14. @SylenThunder If that is the reason, they failed it. Big time. With the new price of fergetting elixir your can swap around your points really often and get the magazines you need superfast. It also promotes specialized characters. People who like to spread out their points will simply fall back in progression.

Everything you can´t cover with that method can be bought or achieved as a reward at the super OP traders.

Also it´s simply not fun having to search every mailbox and every bookshelf. You can be sure that even people that never double dipped quests will now do that regulary with crack a book and POI´s with a decent amount of book shelfs.

The magazines should spawn in every loot container with the same chance imo or get replaced by a system that is not as easily abused as this one. And don´t even start with "but people aren´t forced to abuse" that´s like telling a kid that sugar is bad and then proceed to show them the drawer with all the sweets.

Is that what TFP wants? A min/max simulation? With the skill point system instead of a well made LBD and the magazine system they sure did achieve that. Game has never been so easy to min/max.

  15. @Roland It´s crazy talk? Maybe. If TFP is doing everything right then yes, it might be. Just saying it´s not 100% set in stone. I mean there is a conformation process for a reason after all. Amd how far would TFP go to dumb down the PC Version to get cross play? Are they actually willing to sacrifice for example bandits if that is something that can´t happen on console?

Also wasn´t there a time when Sony didn´t allow crossplay with X-Box? Not too long ago? Not sure though.

  16. 6 hours ago, Roland said:

I don't know the timeline exactly of when crossplay will be enabled. I only know that they are working on it and it is a planned feature. Whether it is ready on day one of PC Alpha 22/ Console Version 1 remains to be seen.

I do know that there won't be split-screen functionality at all. That question came up a lot at Twitchcon and TFP was adamant that it would not be happening despite the obvious disappointment that it generated.

Thing is that this doesn´t only depend on TFP. Sony and MS need to give their ok and have a ton of rules for it. It´s quite the process and can take a long time from what i know.

So just because TFP plans to have it, doesn´t mean it´s gonna happen.
