Wesjuh
I am renovating and building a wall around Perishton in "creative" but i can't for the life of me figure out the fill selected area. I figured out how to select an area using Z but neither K or L work. I just can't delete or place blocks. Also the menu showed in any of the videos doesnt show only the esc-menu one but i cant select any submenus. None of my searches were succesfull. Any help i much appreciated. zztong
By "creative" do you mean being in-game with the commands "debug mode" (dm) and "creative menu" (cm) on? I'm only aware of the various commands for a selected area working in the Prefab Editor and perhaps the World Editor. L would be to fill. J would be to clear. X would be to rotate. G to move. Shift-G to adjust size. CNTRL-C to copy. CNTRL-V to paste.
Riamus
AFAIK, the only tool in an actual game to adjust terrain is a dev tool that lets you raise or lower terrain a little. There isn't a fill tool. Also, the world editor does not allow saving changes to terrain.
theFlu
JaWoodle is using some kind a dev tool to replace blocks, I think it's a feature of that tool (sadly I don't know its name or anything ). It can also delete (or "replace with air") I don't think you can "fill" in a "real" world, I think that's prefab editor only.

He's just using copy/paste like you would in the POI Editor from what it looks like. Maybe in dev mod (dm), you can do this.

I tried rebinding them to others or rebinding them to the same ones. 8 hours ago, RipClaw said: @Veduihas some tutorial videos how to use the dev tools to fill in or clear out areas I have edited the XML-file and that works. Kinda. Only that 10% random block filler works, thats good enough for now. Thank you all for the help.
Vedui
I would add on, that the creative commands (such as the one I show how to enable) seems to have been further restricted over the last few alphas compared to before. Not entirely sure why, or why they're locked requiring xml edit to begin with, when they are very useful to admins. If devs feel they have some danger to the save or causing bugs alright, although me and others have been using these commands for years now and I've never run across anything breaking. So I'd definitely support these (including fill options which have been removed/restricted) being made available without XML edits to give us further ADMIN/creative control over our game. I recall asking about this during a previous dev stream and the response seemed to be more along the lines of "it might be confusing for players to enable it" ... which I think should not be a factor in the decision, as if you admin your game, run it creative, there's a lot worse things you can do than this. Your game, your choice
