transfering old save

I already know where the save files are located, so that doesn't help. In fact I can launch the steam version game, load the save file I previously played, and find all the traces of my history in the worlds I played in. What I can't do is resume the players I played before, I always start as a new player with no access to my builds.

Enter your saved game. Once you spawn, hit F1 for console, type dm then hit enter. Use the command giveselfxp to get enough xp to get you to your previous level. Use creative menu get get all of your inventory items back.

Copy your player files from the previous world to the new world, and rename them to the filename of the working player profile.

Can't copy them over if they're in the same location. The save files are the same for both versions, but when I launch with the pirated version I get one character, and I launch with the purchased version, I get another character, but can still see all the stuff that was built by the previous, not to mention the gamestats are all the same. I tried connecting them by IP address, but failed due to different game versions.

In your player folder, are you saying that the EOS etc. filename for your old profile is exactly the same as the EOS filename for your new, lvl 1 character?

These are the files I'm talking about.image.thumb.png.f0266a68df4aa5f427582972c3945371.png

They weren't, and that was the fix I was looking for, thank you!
