Hello, currently try translate Darkness falls and your vehicles mod to russian and has some questions. Can you answer pls?


Big thanks for this modpack, high quality models and they worked on osx (a lot of other mods models rendered as pink on metal renderer).

 

1. Can i use more accuracy names of car brands like "Charger" -> "Dodge Charger", "Nova" -> "Chevrolet Nova", "Stallion" -> "Mustang" or "Ford Mustang" (not all russian peoples knowing USA classic cars) or it add problems with car brands?

2. What it "Junker"?) It is Germany bike from WW or something related to junk?

3. Why "Marouder" name? Some easter egg? Looks like monster truck

1: Doesn't really matter to me. I just kept the names simple.

 

2: Just means it's a piece of junk bike.

 

3: Marauder is what the creator called it, and I liked it, so I kept it. More unique than just monster truck. It isn't quite big enough to be a monster truck anyway, it's just more of a lifted car.

FYI those are trademarks so be aware that using them could open you up to legal actions from the owners.  Even if you don't make any money from a mod, the trademark owners can go after you if they feel what you are doing is diluting their brand.  That is why a lot of people don't use the proper names or use parodies.

 

Note I am not saying you will get in legal trouble, just that it opens up the potential for legal issues.

@bdubyahSorry I'm so long getting back to you. Real life...anyway, you were right about reloading after the console command. Worked a charm. I have another question though...sometimes when I find a statue and open it, nothing happens, no tone or further expansion of the SPIFSAL categories. (What does that stand for anyway?) Is this by design and if so, why?

 

One last thing, I've heard the voice the mutants use, (the "huh?") in some other game and can't remember where, (probably 'cause I'm old. )I figure it's some asset you bought or that is available for free, but do you know what other game uses this sound? It's driving me apesh1t.

They are only a one time use as far as that goes. So the first time you use one for each attribute you hear the sound and gain the point. 

 

I think that sound came from a pack I got on the Unity store. No idea what other games it may have been used in.

So that means only one boost per category? Other than glasses,  is there any was to push it further?

There are SPIFSAL books you can get as rare loot/rewards that work similar to the statues. There are also drugs you can take to boost it temporarily.

You can release it as its own mod if you want. I have no interest in maintaining other languages in my mods.

Afternoon

Bicycle crafting/Vehicle repair parts lists?


Im just on my first playthrough of the wasteland mod and my bicycle was destroyed via a large group of raiders when i was ambushed is there anyway to craft a new one as not getting any option to although i have the parts?

Also is there a list anywhere of the specific parts need to repair the vehicles laying around...like a parts list per vehicle anywhere as it comes up with a picture but does not tell you exactly what the part is and im struggling to find out what they are?

Arramus made this document and I tweaked it a bit. It lists the order and parts needed for each vehicle. It will be in the mod folder itself with the next update. I may eventually see about adding it into the game somehow, but not sure how easy that would be. There is no crafting vehicles period atm, but I might consider allowing at least bicycle crafting. We'll see.

Find your log file, and upload it to somewhere like pastebin. Link that here so I can look at it. You can find them here:

That's some bad luck. I don't remember not having a Big Rocket in quite a while, especially since I added the bias stuff.

 

Also, figure I would just let people know I have no plans on updating any of my mods during experimental. NONE.

 

My current plan is to get the vehicles updated first, since I now get to add visual mod stuff to all of them. Wasteland will come after since I have to wait on the other mods to get going anyway. Vehicles will come out hopefully as soon as 1.0 goes stable, assuming I get all of them done. I expect to since we have a month.

 

For Wasteland, I am currently planning to move back to something closer to A20 with perks unlocking things, schematics being a thing still, etc. The crafting mags is just something I don't like after looking at it for an entire alpha. Plus tons of other things I have to figure out. So don't expect Wasteland 1.0 to be coming when stable hits, it will likely be a decent bit after. Have some patience. :)

Sorry if this was covered and I just didnt see it.  I did search for farmbot but only saw bug fixes.  I created a farmbot and have the protocol disk to program it, but how do I actually tell it to do the farming?  It just stands there like a regular npc and wants to patrol.

 

We are having a ton of fun with this mod, except when the raiders are secretly destroying my motorcycle while 4 km away from base.. thats some BS right there.. I now am hiring a brotherhood member to just stand next to my rides as I am in POI to keep them safe.

I'm pretty sure it's still broken. I mentioned it to sphereii a while back but think it got lost in other things he's been doing. I'll mention it again once we get going for 1.0 and see if it's something he wants to fix.

Think on first load I had some trader/loot errors. So it definitely doesn't work out of the box. I have those fixed I believe, and am currently working on adding some of the visual mod stuff like armor and whatnot to all of them, where it makes sense. Not going crazy with it, but trying to add some custom stuff in where I can. I also wanna revisit the tinting stuff as I have the shader TFP uses on their vehicles. I'd like to get all of mine using it if possible so it isn't so bad looking when you dye most of my vehicles. I also have to tinker with the seat/hand/foot IK stuff since they messed with all of that. Hoping to have the AIO pack ready for 1.0 stable, maybe all the individual ones too. Not releasing till stable though.

 I know normally you'd prefer to have the full set of logfiles instead of a screenshot, but I'm having difficulty finding them on my computer (seems the Appdata folder is either missing or hidden) but scrolling through the logs at the time of error I'm only seeing a single line of code pop up with an error message, this is for the Wasteland Mod and happens anytime I try to load a Single Player Game or Join a Server, after this error appears the game locks up and has to be crashed.

I literally cannot even read that. Find your logs. Google will tell you how to find Appdata. Should also be able to hit the button on the top right of your screen when the console is open.
