  1. I would like to see "basketballs"" collected around the map to be usable to pelt zombies for damage and knockdown, and a 30'% chance to pop or deflate each time used, with a nice pout-inducing sqeeee-hissss of the air escaping when a basketball pops. "awwwwwww, shucks"
  2. We have "nicknames" for almost all of the Zombies in the Game. "Everyday Joe" is the mechanic in the blueish gray coveralls, The One in yellow shirt is either called 'Twitchy" or Howard Wolowitz, the Big Momma we call "Howards Mother", and the black dressed stripper is "Bad Penny", the slim black shirt that used to be the old spider zombie, We now call "Sheldon", tan frock with short hair zombie is "Amy Farafowler"; and the orange haired zombie in green top is 'Bernadette"; the lumberjack is now "Al Borland (Tool Time tv show reference)", the new dogs are called "Rot-weilers", the Blond hair zombie in tan with some red accent clothing, is called "Ronald" (cause one of our female players says he reminds her of Ronald Mcdonald), the disgusting tourist We call "Wo-Fat" (cause One of our players says thats a reference to a large asian bad guy from an old Hawaii Five-O tv show); the new blue smock Nurse We call 'Ana" because several of us really liked the Sarah Polley character from 'Dawn of the Dead movie'. The Vultures we just call, @%$#s. (spelling edited in case naming a body part would be offensive), and one of our players simply calls the snakes, "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee" *grin*
  3. That particular Player ( who I also count as among one of My best friends) has an issue with...dogs, so the bark of the 'rot-weilers' in the game sends him whirling around and calling out..'DOGS, We GOT DOGS"... then what usually follows is a few words of Expletives and often a Scream (or two...sometimes three) as He tends to scramble in a panic to gun them down, or run away to a better vantage point. I shouldn't laugh at a friend dealing with some personal issues within the game, but He really reaches a high pitch of genuine panic for a few seconds. Often described as shrill, and "other sexist terms" that I don't encourage. But yes, I snicker a bit too when he "loses his cool"
  4. *eyes darting to the left and right, checking if anyone is directly watching*...errm...I still get together with a group of D&D players once a month, and 1 of them is actually a player from My Dads younger days., so playing a bit of a homebrew version of D&D 5th, with some adjustments made to harken back to 3.5 (since the Ranger class in 5th edition is total orc feces, among other things), with every gameplay break filled with talk of 3-4 games that We play online, of course I often bring up 7D2D. ahem, on the issue of the "forcefield', I don't really go in for a lot of the special gimmicks, although I enjoy seeing them designed and tested. I will say that I have kept a "garage" location, usually within 3-4 "squares/Poi locations" in distance from My Main Base location and that is used for storing all of the vehicles that My group of players have for the days between hordenights. So that garage is empty for six days but We button up our vehicles there on hordenight and dash the short distance to our Base and prep for the battle. So I have used some tricks to keep that garage secure. I am considering using a forcefield around My next garage, since My group is finally getting to the point of being able to have a motorcycle, and a form of SUV (using Bdubs great vehicle mod). Coming up on Day 84 so possibly after this coming Hordenight I may very well try setting up a garage with a forcefield. But from personal choice between Myself and My usual group of survivors, we prefer sticking to using spike traps , barbed wire, and LOT of gunfire to get through a horde night --- with the aid of some explosives, some dart traps, and several blade trap arches.
  5. WOW, I have seen some great suggestions, and SEVERAL from singers/bands/groups that I wasn't familiar with. I sampled some tracks yesterday and thinking how to best add them into My now growling playlist (pun intended). I have a game play scheduled with at least 2 of My usual group, we last stopped play the night before a Hordenight. I think I will get some good feedback on the extra music I gleaned from the suggestions I've seen so far. Also, I am VERY familiar with the Fallout music, I became a Betty Hutton fan because of it, and Sinatra was something I could remember hearing My Dad listen to and I ended up purchasing a few CD's from odd locations maybe 5-6 years ago because of the Fallout exposure (pun intended again). I will also very strongly agree that I MUST be able to hear the game sounds too though, I'm noticing in Alpha 20 that the zombies will 'sometimes' wait to growl or snarl only once they reach out and claw their prey (Me); so for Me at least hearing the game sound is also vital. So I balance the playlist sound with an eye toward keeping the game sounds still recognisable. I already have to stay on edge because one of My usual gamers tends to scream in a high pitch whenever He is surprised during gameplay (which is freaking hilarious too).
  6. Some of those locations have such fond memories for Me, but now I would have an extremely hard time in giving up the new terrain and towns and cityscapes of alpha 20.
  7. Well, I have to give him credit, some people do consider NPR to the close to the waking dead. *drum riff*
  8. So, this came up as a convo this past weekend, when 3 of Our Fab 4 were playing. One of the women that plays with Our group had her "7d2d" music on, and one of My other players starts singing along, hearing it in the background of our Voicechat. I slowly start thinking there is a theme involved in the song selections playing. My female Teammate then admitted, "yes I have a mix made just for playing 7D2D" Now the convo went full bloom, asking if She had a variety of songs that suddenly leapt to mind as part of her 'mix' I got such a grin at the list, I decided to share some of the more inspired choices, wondering if others have some fave songs to slay by. Bodies - Drowning Pool A Country Boy can Survive - Hank Williams Jr. We will Become Silhouettes - The Postal Service ( I never heard of this group until this past weekend) Survivor -- Destinys Child Zombies - Lacuna Coil ( I had to agree, this song pumps up a POI raid ) Still haven't found what I'm looking for - U2 (My fave on the list) Its the End of the World as We know It (and I feel fine) -- R.E.M. Stronger - Kanye West Tubthumper -- Chumbawamba Fighter - Christina Aguilera Living Dead Girl - Rob Zombie ( All three of Us were singing along to this tune, great mood music for prowling in the Wasteland) Survivor --I will Survive - Glee Cast My Baby Looks good in Camouflage - Rhett Atkins (again, a song I had never heard before, but the fave song of My female teammate ) Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum (Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol 1 & 2 ) I hope this brings some smiles to the rest of you out there, and if you have any fave "7D2D tunes, I'd love to hear about them, after this last weekend I am making a playlist of My own.
  9. Some impressive usage of space. I'm currently going for the old "My Home is My Castle" setup , using the Dead Rooster bar. ( now renamed 'The Roost ), but I love the fortifications you are using around the foundation of your 'Survivor in a Drum" base
  10. Hmmm, I am very new to adding any MODS strictly on My own ( without use of a Mod Manager) but I love the look and idea behind this Mod; but I am wondering, if I wanted to start off 'light' with My little group of survivors and add in just 6-8 new zombie types from this Mod, would that be a do=able thing? I think it might keep the A20 experience fresh, to let the group realise there are some new faces around zombietown, then after 3-4 weeks, add in another 10 or so? Tips and advice always very welcome. Thank you sincerely for the effort that I can clearly see went into this MOD, both in talent and time to look after the little details.
  11. Some really creative ideas flowing here. I've used the food truck as a overnight base a few times, but only in woodland or desert. the garage under bunker house pic brings back thoughts of My second RGW in Alpha 20. Thought it would be a one night sleepover base but turned into a 25 day stayover.
  12. Aye, running a total of 3 Mods. The fine Bdubs vehicles Mod is the source of the work truck schema., but for whatever reason, when I re-visited the Trader on the next day, the bridge schematic price was back down to 2400 dukes. Times they are a crazy for sure.
  13. Interesting post, and I will slightly agree with one point, there does seem to be a feeling that Players are being a bit nudged to adapt a playstyle that takes certain directions. Supplies in loot for some items have become so limited that it does "feel" as if players are being shoved toward taking many more 'Traders Missions" to make any headway. I certainly feel pushed to go into the Wastelands at a much earlier stage than I used to start visiting it in previous Alphas. As for the wolves issue, I notice certain patterns in most of My playthroughs, right now I notice that as soon as the timer hits 22:00 hours I can practically see the wild animal population spawning in as I putt-putt along a road on minibike heading back to My base. I also have it almost timed about which day I will go outside at 4:00 am and see Buddy Bear sauntering up and down the street very near to My Base. The 'rot'-weilers that show up in packs of 4 or 5 are usually My ..."look out for trouble" item, as they do show up in My game around every 4th day or so. So, its not necessarily a bad thing, as one that I find more of a pattern, and I just suppose that I don't expect everything within the game to be totally random. Some elements are added just to give some extra action I suppose. I do hope that you find your happy medium in zomb activity though.
  14. Hmm, I don't know what to say to this. Part of Me wants to find offense at the general naming of the screamers as witches, since I know a few in Real Life. Not sure if I should be upset for them here, but, discretionary naming aside; I agree, I have had a Player in My RNW worlds that has a tendency to slap up torches on every wall, I came back into the base one day after a two day adventure out of town for looting, and I walk in to see the place lit up with ( I counted later as I was taking them DOWN), a total of 47 torches, and He wondered why he had no peace while we were gone, saying that the Screamers kept showing up every 90 game time minutes, almost like clockwork. Forges, Torches, anything using fuel, adds to the HEAT, not in temperature but in how "attractive" the activity in your base is to zombs, and raising the chance of screamers coming in to snoop. Personally I have never run more than 3 Forges in a base, but since I often play multiplayer, the friends I play with will often set a landclaim in a nearby POI a few building spaces away from Main base, then run additional 1-2 forges there. Maybe such an idea will work for yourself and your friends as well.
  15. So this morning, Day 4 on a freshly started RNG World We tried out last night. I go into the Trader, and notice this schematic for sale. I think the traders have lost their bloody minds *smile* Never have I seen a schema cost more than say 2400 dukes.
  16. So true, I have every Drone MOD schematic purchased. Just waiting for a drone, or the drone schematic itself so I could build My own. Pardon Me for that error in the previous post. its a bit of an emotional issue. Anyone have a tissue? *chuckles*
  17. I personally have a lot of love for the second building, the Barts Salvage location. Made a really great base out of it in one playthrough that ran to Day 170 or so. I used the shipping container in back, after clearing the debris, as My first garden plot location, ran a row along each side with walk space in between. Getting rid of the large construction vehicle turned out to be a ton of work, even with the auger. Lots of 10K parts to that crane. Still it was really great once the place was all upgraded.
  18. The first two RWG worlds I started in Alpha 20, beakers were like a Spider-Man saying; "Everybody gets ONE", and finding a second beaker was nigh impossible. In My current RWG World, started after 20.1 went stable, I now have (collected by both Myself and two other players in My Game world) a total of 4 beakers( using one in Main base campfire, and another to make a chemistry station), and currently 14 acid. Wheels are still rare but we have been able to make enough using the acid to construct 2 mini-bikes, a motorcycle, and a 4x4. So the beaker and acid items have moved from "hens teeth" to just rare for us.
  19. I have 29 robotic parts currently stored in My "tech stuff' box in My base. I hoard those things like.... umm...like.... a squirrel hoards his nuts *eyebrow and grin* I also have stored a level 1 robo turret, and two sledge turrets. I keep "quentin turretino" My level 4 Robo turret with Me at all times, so I always have that source of cover fire if I need to make a run to the bathroom during a MP game session. *grin*
  20. That will be much needed, but still won't affect My gameplay as We don't "swap" worlds, unless the new build is stable AND we haven't reached a point where My friends and I don't want to start over. Still, its great news that TFP is working on solving that issue. Its a royal pain. Thanks for sharing that.
  21. sighs.... Must be nice having a drone. its still a unicorn in My game, just a Myth *red-faced* YOU"RE ALL LIEING, THERE IS NO DRONE !!! *breaks down into muffled sobs* LOL Seriously though, been trying all sorts of things, forays into Wasteland for a Day or Two of "Loot and Sneak" through some POI's. chomping eye kandy before opening any sizeable stash, and always wearing loot goggles. My loot stage has been boosted at times to 260-ish range, and still no drone yet. I have EVERY SINGLE drone schematic purchased; but feels mostly like coins thrown into a fountain, cause ....THERE IS NO DRONE!!!!!!! *chuckles* One day....one day !!! OH!...I forgot to add. Motorcycle for Me as transport. I have Mine now equipped in Passion Purple, with Fog Lights, Vehicle speed mod, and the vehicle Fuel saver mod. --- dah dah dat dah da...Lovin It. But it would be cool if they made a "saddlebags" mod for it, to add a small bit of extra storage. *slides goggles on, and slips in the soundtrack for "Born to be Wild" -- kicks the peg up and roars off*
  22. As recently as 4 days ago, I still had this glitch happen with one of My robo turrets. I used a workaround of digging out two blocks, and crafting topsoil to drop into them, then placed the robo turret on top of those.
  23. Do I even have to say it For me the answer is MACHETE !!!! *cue dramatic background music*
  24. When I have played Solo, I really did enjoy turning, unusual locations into a base, but since I play with at least 2-3 each time I go into My game world Now, I've really shifted to locales that several people can feel...not cramped. But your idea sounds very cool.
