  1. @SnowDog1942 , your doll is almost ready it seems they had a team on it.
  2. game dev idea, a cross between 7 days to die and no man's sky
  3. someone is acting like 20.7 or a21 hit exp. already wth? 20.6 has been out a while and I have seen no update so what's with this update talk
  4. yeah is SP, I will have to turn of chunk reset. I dont want my mining operations messed with. plus it would negate part of the reason to go explore. I can understand on MP servers tho, they need resources reset else they can run out on the larger longer lasting servers. but in SP, if I have resourced out the world, time for a new map
  5. not a bad idea as we get closer to gold. as for other voxel games such as MC, this is already done with a texture replacer set to the timestamp of the comp as the game loads in. just swaps the mods automatically as it goes. we used to do this for santa hats and candy cane shivs.. jack o lantern lanterns, witch wand daggers should be just as easy. turkey drumstick clubs
  6. snowdog, he isnt talking about, you, stop grinning and put your pants back on
  7. hmmm, chunks load in a radius around you, so arrow pointing in multiple directions... but who knows, as for the number. can now load more of them with same memory usage, speed, efficiency... so many options to guess from.
  8. ok, so the kid's nickname in "the goonies" was chunk, you put some type of reload symbol over him and a timer of 15 . so did you speed up chunk loading?
  9. short on time? as in getting close to getting it out for us to toy with?
  10. just dont make the mistake of having 1 massive volume with them wandering, odds are they would all group together as if looking at one of snowdogs nudy magazines. would be nice if we could say set behaviors, such as patrol so they wander the volume, like the parking lot or the yard. linked volumes and they wander around it as if patrolling, while others can nap, tinker around a work station, or pretend to be snowdog.
  11. well mostly the problems arise if you install in a windows default directory such as program files. several gaming companies suggested years back to create a game directory or install programs to its own directory outside of the windows default directories to bypass this lil problem. for the last 10 years I have been installing to c:/games or d:/games for this or similar reasons
  12. instead of putting mods in the appdata, which is a hidden file and most people will have to google how to get to it. why dont you put it in the My documents/games folder where they can easily get to it? I mean that is where bethesda and many other gaming companies put some of their stuf.
  13. so basically you want a screamer climbing out of a well while moaning your name :edit: in Japanese.
  14. @HatedDamn tease was hoping it was goin stable!
  15. I can attest to this part. random vending machines, if they worked, they still do on a reset, if they didnt, then they still dont. if a randomized container was lootable, it stayed lootable on reset even if it had the option to be changed to a non lootable one.
  16. helps prevent glitching and getting hung up on partials. also that half jump getting stuck bs.
  17. my concern is more with bandit range attack. 1. is its gun range gonna be as soon as they see us and able to snipe us at ranges greater than our own? such as they arent even rendered and we got sniped? 2. will they have infinite ammo? that gets unbalanced. 3. what will their accuracy be like? i mean are they always gonna hit? 4. wait, they were just shooting at us, I killed the little f* but he doesnt have a gun on him? wtf? played a few games like fallout where this happened. broke immersion. on weapons and armor in general. bandits are human too, they will try for every advantage, does this mean bandits weapon, armor, and tools may have mods already in them?
  18. egads! when did Roland start cross-dressing?
  19. dont be so sure, look how long it took for screenshots and logs to get their folders. most other games including minecraft had em years ago
  20. because at your age, <think under 18> to hurt you in a different fun way is still jailbait?
  21. any plans on opening up some new hotkeys? well the option for players to customize a few more. personally getting tired of the nvg and the flashlights being on the same button.
  22. A bandit "heat map" would be interesting, but tedious. I can see bandits being utilized more like this 1. Bandit camps 2. random bandit spawns in biome like wolves and such, with aggro towards bears/wolves, zeds, and players 3. bandits at dig/treasure map quests and parachute drops. 4. occasional factional raids at tradeposts 5. bandit gps raids on player when faction gets to the right level bandits attacking bed positions and land claim positions would be too easy to cheese. it would be the old place them away from your real camps and trap them routine all over again like they used to do for 24/7 forges and screamers back in a16 and a17.
  23. personally I am hoping for 2-3 more t5's. we have plenty of lower tier, but once the trade post quests get up there, just the same 7 high level prefabs gets a bit redundant. I understand we have some good talent out there and we have brought many into the CP, but I would like to see something from tfp in that regards. Perhaps the bandit bases and camps will range from 1-5 as well adding to the quest locations.
  24. not sure you read that properly. how does a nuke relocate broken stone debris and scatter it evenly through the wilderness but leave the trees up and such? lore said cities were nuked, and the wilderness was firebombed. at least what little snippets of lore Madmole came up with over the last 10 years or so. so cities should have the broken stone, but wilderness should have burned ground blocks as the surface since... you know, fire bombed. it's why we had a burned biome to begin with
