Iirc the trader specialties are supposed to be (per the a19 and a20 dev threads, I am not going diving to pull up a damn link so don't ask):

    Jen; Meds

    Rekt; farming/seeds

    Bob; vehicles

    Hugh; weapons

    Joel; armor

    To remember better:

The J's:  Jen and Joel are protective.

    Hugh is offensive, so weapons.

    Changes needed:

Rekt should be vehicles (wrecked vehicle's),

    Bob should be Farming.

You're welcome TFP always here to help at Al's Marina...  (don't visit Pal's Marina, they spike their meat burritos with... meat!)

  2. My Granddad owned a two-story shop on a small airport in Washinton state.  He made his own airplane and let me fly in it (as a passenger).  As I was just a kid he flew perfectly and talked about the land below.  Great memory of a great man.

But the strip was pretty long (I never walked its full length) as during an air show I saw a P-47 take off and land and it was so big you could have easily converted the body into a small, cozy (very cozy) base!

If they are small POI's or large (city region sized) airports, they should be a prize beyond measure for loot!

  3. A21 has been ready for months!

The only hangup has been TFP had promised themselves to release it on the very first day that there is world peace...

Their only mistake they made, was forgetting that the people of Earth are "Bat Sh*t crazy"!

Among all of the other streamers, that I can`t put in different place as he is, JW is such a soul, a one that really shows up how much possibilities and fun/hell we can have, and the ones that the Pimps gave us, by making 7dtd opened for mods. And this is before Steam Workshop !

Anyway, *double tap on 7dtd icon*

I agree completely.  It's a learning experience for me almost every time I watch his show!

He will be the guy I will watch for A21 streamer weekend.  He might not have all the angles figured out by the end of the weekend, but I will not feel lost with all the new stuff I'm sure.

Maybe his greatest achievement was to play "Fist weapons only" and fight Blood Moon hordes on the street!  I never knew just how much you could leverage your abilities until then.

  5. Ignoring Youtubes shortfalls, JaWoole is also playing an intense mod of 7D2D called Infection!

THAT might be too hard for me early game, with its current settings: You can never be cured of infection and the rate goes up (I believe) about 10-15% a day, so 7 days untreated you die.

Amazing concept as even late game. a high-level player is not 100% safe.  WOW!

  6. For me, I like more realistic layouts of workstations, so I don't stack them.

I can understand how it might be fun playing from a "Rat Hole" base.  Seeing how optimal you space usage can be.

Doesn't it rob a bit of immersion/believability though?

    I know... Zombies.

It is a terrain collision mesh generation issue. Could be timing and/or a combination of density values or simply a code error. I've never seen someone fall through the world digging down.

Nether have I.  I didn't know what to call that system function that does that, so I described it.

Although I did have a cop spit up through two concrete blocks and damage my base.  My theory was the cops head was temporarily stuck inside the lower block and then it was a clear shot to try and spit at me.

  8. I was not very good at BASIC IMO.  Nothing of value I made there.

I help save the government a few million a year by making the framework for the Joint Pay System (hypothetically anyway, it is the government after all) using COBOL.

Then my big deal for my coding career, was making the (Billion dollar) FBI fraud detection system work, by adding the "impossible" piece of coding.  I heard about that later after the people that worked (and failed) on the FBI one was "helping" the major health insurance company I worked at (think Blue) at their fraud detection system.  They actually came to my desk and asked me how I did the "impossible" (three times!) with my code in their hands even!

I'm smart in a limited way, everything else I'm kinda stupid.  :)

To be clear, this is more zombies on the server, spread across multiple players, while improvements like disabling jiggle is client side.

If you as a client had 100 zombies around you, the overhead of animating, colliding and rendering them is still expensive and you would probably have a low FPS.

Must Fixes was started a few months ago, but that is just a guide. Multiple systems are still being worked on, polished and tested, which are not often in MFs. There is some overlap, like my vehicle damage task is marked MF, yet it is a system improvement task, not a bug. That one is basically done, but I'm not closing it yet as the values are still open to tweaking and I would like to work on vehicles smoking when highly damaged, if I spend the time. That could also be done during experimental, so not a high priority to me.

With the hole appearing when a POI is reset MF bug:  (This is just spit-balling but might help somehow) Can you do an area wide function that is similar to when a person is digging a hole and the system will keep the player from falling through the world by making ground under their feet?

The bug might be when a POI is on two or more chunks and not all the chunks get updated.

Or the player digs around the POI (for whatever reason) and that throws off the POI reset?

No date yet. Streams would be x amount of time before we anticipate release as we don't want streams too early. Multiple people, including myself have tasks to finish with unknown durations. A good example is a hole in terrain bug I have when quest resetting some POIs. I've looked at it before and why it happens is unknown, which means it could take a day or a week or more. There is no way to know, only guess.

Are the POI's large in some way that cause a hole?  I know there is something odd with finding the last zombie sometimes in large POI's.

If it's not related, forget everything I just said.   Not a MF.  :D

Where do you suppose most of the promotion of this game comes from?

There's good reasons why Twitch integration is now included in the game and streamer weekend is also a thing. If the devs can recognize the value in that then perhaps you might consider it yourself? You wouldn't really encourage those same people to not promote the game for free would you? 😊

If a person is doing the streamer thing, then that is their choice.  It's not my choice or TFP's choice.  TFP consider it a "quid pro quo" to anyone that can help them.

For me, there is no value in it.  I would rather play the game myself.

  12. Can people make a living on just playing games on YouTube?

Not people living with their parents' ether.

I know Kage848 works several jobs.

It just feels like some people need to reassess who is really responsible for their life.

If someone thinks its other people making a game that is responsible for their life... they need a wakeup call someday soon.

  13. As most people didn't have a gun held to their head and forced to buy 7D2D AND keep it on its current release (except for me of course).

I find it a human thing to resort to... what do we call it?  "Cage shaking"?  To vent out some of what we had hoped for not come to pass and have people know we are not happy.

I'm ok with that, free psychotherapy is a double bonus you might say.

  14. I think if a player is maxed out on stealth skills, has nothing that makes any noise and is willing to take extra time avoiding noise making areas, move slowing and stopping even, while things "cool down".

Then a perfectly done job should give the player around a 90% chance of success, if not more.

Note: This would include not killing anything or opening wood crates (safes and things that require lock picks could be picked safely)

BECAUSE: The time it would take to only partially clear one POI by stealth.  Another run-and-gun player could clear two POI's.  Maybe three if they cleared three low tier POI's.

So, if this were the case, then that would mean a stealth player is going for as much immersion as the game allowed at the cost of less loot and lower exp gain.

  15. Late game, my M-60 works 99% of the time and when it fails, I have less amazing automatic weapons as backups.

If it was a real situation, stealth is what I would probably be doing (if not running away!) in a nightmare situation like 7D2D.  But for gameplay, stealth currently feels unrealistic (unless I'm in a coma and will wake up in a Part 2) and as it's a solid enough FPS as well... I shoot.

I shoot on horde nights too, almost every zombie is killed by shooting.  I use ammo I don't use in the daytime which are shotgun and 44.

Friends, who is well versed in how damage works on an electric fence? just as far as I know, in the chain, the last element of the link receives damage. or so it should be. and out of 5 points receive 3 damage. I would be grateful for your help) After work, I'll take off the screen with the problem area)

I don't use them but if you keep that last electric pole near enough to repair then you will be fine for that night.  So I've heard.

That sounds like a fun DLC / addon map.  Like you arrived on an island via airport and now need to survive.  There are alot of cool ideas that can be implemented easier in a hand crafted map versus a randomly generated one.

DLC's are the lifeblood of some small game companies and THAT is how Paradox gaming keeps its head above water, financially speaking.

Most players that enjoy 7D2D would jump at an opportunity for more fun and help out TFP while they make a part 2 or something else.

A Tile is 150x150 in size.  A believable run way imo would need to be at least 300m in length.

From an art perspective, I would imagine we would need destroyed airplane models, baggage carts, carousels, etc. just to name a few.

Basically a new category of art to support one brand new type of POI.

Could we hodge podge some shapes together to create some of that? Perhaps, but not at the current standards our other categories are currently at.

Could still happen, just unlikely for 1.0 is all.  Game has been in dev for a long time already as is.

Maybe a map similar to Navezgane, but is on a separate island like the one the player is on.  Not to be loaded by the game until day 100+ and several pieces of the final map's location are found.  Something like that.
