  1. Refresh Mods automatically triggers redownloading, or re-syncing of the mod. Unchecking that will still cause the Launcher to copy the files from TempMods into the game folder. I'd recommend using Github for hosting your mods. Many modders keep their mod files on it. It allows you to see previous changes, is backed up, etc.
  2. Sorry for the delay! I got the email notification, but the post wasn't here. Seems like you have something working now, which is great. Advanced Mode, by default, makes multple copies of the game under C:\7D2D\, allow you to play mods without them conflicting. This path can be changed, however. For instance, if you click on the Advanced button, then click on Spider, you should see a screen where it shows the Destination Folder. You can change this to whatever you like. When you switch to Advanced, you will want to delete your entire 7 Days To Die folder in your Steam folder, then re-validate. This will make sure there's no old mods sitting around. You want your Steam copy to be purely vanilla. For each Mod you install, it'll create a copy of the game. That's around 3 to 4G, depending on which mod you want to install. If you want to make a copy for your own mods, then you can click on "Add New My Mods". This will create an empty folder, where you can add different download links if you have them. A download link is optional though, so you can just make your changes as you would normally do them.
  3. Hey man. Sorry you are having such a rough go of the Launcher. Let's see if we can get things sorted out for you. In Advanced mode, the Launcher makes a copy of the game, and applies the selected mod you want. For Valmod Expansion, for example, it would make a copy and add the Expansion mod. However, if you wanted to play Valmod Overhaul, it would make another copy, and apply the mod there. This keeps the mod separate from each other, and avoid conflicts. Which Valmod were you trying to use? Are you using Advanced Mode or Simple Mode? Advanced makes a copy, as I mentioned above, while Simple just over-writes the mods in your steam folder. Simple mod isn't really recommended unless you don't have a lot of disk space. How did you apply the SMX mod? And to which Mod? Most Mods, like Valmod, already have a UI applied. It can be difficult to apply a custom UI to a mod that wasn't designed for. The extra workstations that some mods create need custom settings in the UI to work. If you applied an SMX UI mod to another mod, then workstations may not work. I'm sorry your changes were lost. The Launcher is designed to apply patches to the vanilla version of the game. If you have custom mods you want to do, you could create a My Mod. There won't be a download link, so the Launcher will just make a copy of the game, and won't add anything automatically to it. You can then make your changes in that, and they won't get over-written. Good luck. Let me know if you need more clarification or support.
  4. I have a hard time playing a single mod at a time; My mind isn't really that great! Which anti-virus software do you use? I can step you through on how to exclude it.
  5. First fire was a kitten who chewed through a hair curler. No one was home for 10 hours; was a smoldering fire that willed both floors with smoth. Fire department stamped it out with their foot. One cat passed away (he wasn't the kitten) Took about 4 months to do the restore. In retaliation, I removed the cat's balls on our return, then he ran away Second fire was due to a laptop charging cable laying on the bed. Power brick on the floor, plugged into the wall, but not the laptop. Smoke + flames this time. This fire went on for about 2 hours before it was caught. Again, smoldering smoke and water damage this time. Rough estimates 4 to 6 months. Both fires resulted in a tear-down-to-the-studs work in about 75% of the house. It sucks, but we are in a rental. We can start replacing hardware, but... meh, kids are kind of playing with each other... rather than in their rooms on their computers, so we aren't rushing to purchase stuff.
  6. I need liquid cooling I think.... might be safer. This is our second house fire. We had just moved in with everything new in January 2016. My insurance company must loves me. Launcher code was stored responsibly and safely offsite
  7. It's kind of a cool feature though. The Launcher already accepts a file as a parameter. Give me some time, and I'll see what I can do. I'll try to remember to send you a PM too, in case you aren't monitoring the thread much
  8. I have streamed before, but never thought of trying to get the launcher to stream. I may have to think about away to do testing on this. All my servers and workstations were lost in a fire a few weeks ago, so I haven't a chance yet to start rebuilding them. I'll look at it, and see if its something I can implement.
  9. I've been trying to think of a way to do this. Can you Stream the Launcher itself? And it just fails to properly stream the game?
  10. Hey tbonepat11. User since 2014, and your first post is on my thread. I feel honoured I don't really understand what allows the Stream option. I'm assuming it needs some kind of Steam integration, which I don't have. Since the streaming option means that game needs to be installed on the desktop, then the Launcher would have to also be running on the desktop. Have you added the 7D2D Mod Launcher to the desktop machine? That's the only thing I can think of right off.
  11. Hey venom I probably forgot to update the patches for 15.2; the patches are probably just compatible with 15.1. I'll see if I can get them updated tomorrow. The Patches has a safety system, so it won't apply a patch that won't be 100% successful.
  12. Hey GotInk666 The Starvation server you seen in the listing was for a private, white-listed DONA server. They re-hosted Starvation for a consistent game play, rather than requiring its existing users to use a different Launcher. All of DONA servers are configured through this Mod Launcher. Since then, they have switched to True Survival SDX, and have taken down their link to the Starvation download. Starvation from the Starvation Team is only currentl available through their Launcher, as it is using its own repo that I don't have access too.
  13. Hi Fren unfortunately, sometimes it does get flagged. Are you trying to run the 7D2DModLauncher.exe? You could try the other link, skipping that exe. Maybe it won't get flagged for you. You could always add an exception on your anti-virus, but I understand your concern.
  14. I think dying is part of the requirements of the mod A lot of people successfully play single player, so playing with 3 people should be fairly painless
  15. TrueSurvival A15 JZMOD master.zip That's the one you need. You'll have to re-set your server installation back to vanilla, since SDX changes some of the DLLs, which is what causing you problems atm JZMod is just XML changes. Spider's new version of True Survival SDX is completely different than this one, and thus different installation steps.
  16. Cool, thank you for the log. To be clear, because I am a bit confused now, this is True Survival JZMod, and not the SDX variant that you are having trouble with, right?
  17. Would you mind posting your server log file?
  18. Oh it's no worries. I don't want people to struggle with installing mods; it's meant to make things easier, and not add any extra frustration in your life If you still have patience, then I would suggest doing something like this: 1) Open up 7D2D Mod Launcher 2) Click on Spider 3) Click on the Blue Folder icon and pick a new Destination Folder, such as C:\Launcher\ 4) Click on True Survival SDX 5) Copy From Existing, and select your Steam Folder 6) Install Mod And see if that takes you somewhere better.
  19. Are you trying to run Starvation? Or is your goal for True Survival SDX? They would have separate install guides. I can help you with both, but I don't want to confuse you any more than you currently are
  20. Could be. There's two paths that really matter; your Steam path, and where you want to install the mods to (Destination path). The Mod Launcher will look for your Steam Path for you, and make it available in the drop down box. The Destination path defaults to C:\7D2D, because I do not have very good imagination for names. I think he may have made a copy of the game under C:\7D2D manually, and that might have confused the Launcher, since it would expect a certain folder structure.
  21. The Mod Launcher will make a copy of your game, then it will add True Survival SDX to it. So that's our end goal, so let's make that happen Usually your copy of 7 Days to Die is found under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die. Is that where your game is install at for Steam? Here is what you should be seeing: And after you click on Install Mod ( expect this to take 5 to 10 minutes ), then you should see this: - - - Updated - - - True Survival SDX should install under C:\7D2D\Spider\True_Survival_SDX. NOthing should over-write it. You can play other mods too, and the launcher will keep a separate copy of the game for each mod. Note that the Starvation Launcher requires that you make the copy of the game first, before installing the mod. The 7D2D Mod Launcher assumes you don't have a copy, and will make the copy for you. This could get confusing if you are switching back and forth, and aren't quite familiar with both launchers
  22. No worries. I'm not looking down at you, or anyone else who has trouble It's installing by default, to C:\7D2D\Spider\True_Survival_SDX\. I wonder if the Download worked. Can you check that folder and see if there's any files? If not, then something happened during the Steam sync. You could try to choose Copy From... and make a copy from your existing 7 Days to Die.
  23. Excellent. Do you have an Install Mod button? If you do, then select your Steam copy of 7 Days to Die from the drop down above the button, and click it. It'll make a copy of the game for you. If you have already done that, you should see a Test Mod Sync button. Click on that. Once that's done, go to the View menu at the top, then click on Log Files. In that screen, click on Upload Log File. After a few seconds, a https://pastebin.com link should appear to the right hand side. Copy and paste that URL to me, and I'll see what's going on.
  24. No worries. The 7D2D Mod Launcher.exe is good too. When you first start it, do you see a list of mods along the side? If you do, you can click on Spider, then click again on True Survival SDX.
