  1. 5.1 for 17.2 Now Available

     

     

    5.1 is finally now available on the Launcher for 17.2. 5.0 is still available at the same links for 17.1 and you can choose not to upgrade, but 5.1 does contain a number of fixes and QoL balances to make it worth starting a new.

     

     

     

    Here is a list of what was changed in 5.1

     

     

     

    -Removed HD Texture Pack for Now. It may return in a future release as a modlet

     

    -Increased chances of Mayic Guns

     

    -Added Twine to more loot spots

     

    -Night Walkers will now Despawn at Daybreak

     

    -Wandering Hordes may now spawn a bit closer

     

    -Plains has been removed due to limitations on RWG by TFP

     

    -Fixed Auto Workbench Upgrading to Wood Block

     

    -Omelets are now unlocked

     

    -Boiled Cabbage now made in Survival Campfire and locked to Chef 2

     

    -Boiled Fish now made in Survival Campfire

     

    -Chemicals Category added to blender

     

    -Fixed Uncraftable DB Shotgun

     

    -Hinges added to custom storage box

     

    -Possible Fix for Herd Glasses

     

    -Possible Fix for Shades

     

    -Possible Fix for Shift Click Grill into Survival Campfire

     

    -Katana is less insane to craft

     

    -Saplings now have Descriptions

     

    -Some blocks that had no repair options before can now be repaired (Elevators,Well)

     

    -Fixed Scavenging Time Sometimes not Sticking for Perk

     

    -Makabriel Tweaked RWG to make 17.2 feel a lot smoother and more full

     

     

     

     

     

    Work is well underway on 5.2 which will be out TRUE conversion of 17 into the Ravenhearst you all know and love. Many mechanics, items, monsters and pois will be back then and it will be a totally different and unique experience. We are still weeks or months away from that though. So enjoy 5.1 in the meantime and head to our Discord to participate in discussions.

  2. These insane requeriments are ruining the fun for me. The grind to get new class books is obnoxious. Day 26 and still didn't craft one.

     

    To the modder: change this, the unlock of new classes is one of the major features of the mod and is behind an annoying grind.

     

    Demanding ANY modder to change something because you do not like it is a practice that needs to go away. Its fine to discuss alternate solutions and make suggestions bt its a free world. Khaines intentions are his intentions. Just like with my mod, if you go into this with vanilla expectations prepare to be disappointed in an awesome way.

     

    Khaine has put a LOT of work into making sure balance and progression play out a certain way. RNG can be tough sometimes, and mods, especially Khaines and mine, are intended to extend gameplay.

     

    Why do people bother to download mods that literally say "Im challenging love me" and then demand easier?

  3. Oh God please give strenght and will for these awesome people here to finish the 17.2 update for the game,also please banish those blurry items/objects which makes game much less nice :D

     

    I'm currently taking a small forced break from the mod. Only a few days. This amazing community has provided me a FANTASTIC upgrade to my work machine and very soon my potato will be no more!

     

    What this means for you guys is FASTER updates, WAY more HD textures and better assets, a TON of content and I'm currently designing and planning over 50 plus NEW zombie models all with multiple animations, just so i can personally BLOW MM's theory out of the water that you can NOT have more zombies in this game.l

     

    I guarantee you guys that the future is smoking for this mod and you will NOT be disappointed once the previews come rolling in, which should be in a bout a week. Or possibly less.

  4. Update your launchers and refresh your installs. 5.02 is here and brings some nice requested fixes and QoL enhancements. No wipes needed.

    -Hunting Knife now made with Basic Handle

     

    -Added Craftable Dyes to Tailor Station

     

    -The Makasin are moving large amounts of contraband. Their supply crates just got bigger!

  5. We have released a quick hotfix to 5.01

     

    -Increased Probability of Crowbars

     

    -Added Missing Gyrocopter Recipe

     

    No wipe needed just refresh launcher. For servers the only files changed are loot.xml and recipes.xml

  6. Patch 5.01 has been released and uploaded to the Launcher and all Direct Links Updated.

     

    This patch addresses a few common issues. Work on 5.1 and 17.2 Upgrade has begun but we have NO timeframe for this. Its a MAJOR rework and balance of ALL systems. We will post previews and updates as we move forward.

     

    5.01 is for play in 17.1 ONLY. It does not wipe saves or break games and is safe to upgrade to. Thank you everyone for your support and just plain all around awesomeness. Enjoy!

  7. I just hope when A17.2 or 3 comes that you'll not have to redo most of this again. Then again with modlets, it is sort of easier, though having to recode the dll would get annoying.

     

    Unfortunately modlets dont help guys like Khaine or me as we are total overhauls so Khain has to redo the entire mod again for 17.2 and future updates including the dlls.

     

    A small price to pay though because we love what we do AND it gives him a chance to add all new kinds of terrifying stuff :)

  8. Then how do i actually make the game run the mod? Overwriting the mod files over a clean instal of the game still gives that dumb prompt.

How the F-ing F's Do i make a non-steam working copy that wont tell me [ Retry, Play offline(which i can't do) and Quit game] .Alpha 16 didn't have this stupid problem, you could copy paste a base game folder quick and simple for any mod. I tried both modLauncher and Steam fresh separate download of 17.1 and still locks me in that 3(2) option window. Please help if anyone would be so kind.

     

    This was something they added in A17. Every game is a MP game now. You have the option to not share it but a true SP offline game is not a thing anymore.

  10. so my server is on vanilla texture but was wondering why area are plain fields are big and empty .. question does it take others a few to get in game loading server and charter takes a while

     

    That is the new Plains biome. Its just empty grass and will be home to some new animals and stuff going forward.

     

    Mod loading can indeed take quite some time. The first load is rather long but it should decrease in time after that.

     

    The overlapping boxes may be a resolution issues. What resolution are you playing your game at?

  11. First off...great mod Jax. So far having fun but I was curious about Dust's HD packs.

     

    I read on page 1 that you included the HDHQ Texture Pack in Vanilla, 2k and 4k, Now...I'm just wondering if this is simply the HDHQ MAIN Texture pack ONLY? The reason I ask is because I'd like to know if I have to add the OPTIONAL MODLETS that go with this and those are:

     

    BIOME OVERHAULS (the Vanilla REDUX files I mean)

    BIOME PARTICLE EFFECTS

    BIOME PLANTS (with the Wind Enabled)

     

    If those are already added...great! If not...can you please let us know just how much is in so maybe we can add those up above if we wish. Again...not asking that you add anything in...just asking what is already there and I (and others) can add what I'd/we'd like.

     

    We have most of the HD mods already enabled and installed. (wind enabled is not in though) but there seems to be a conflict in our mod. For some odd reason the vanilla textures all low resolution in all versions 2k and 4k. I redownloaded the entire HD pack and ensured ive added all the files properly but the issue is still there.

     

    Im looking into it now to see what exactly i may have done to cause this issue but so far all of Dusts files are the same in his file as they are in mine.

    I dont have this problem at all with the HDHQ packs. The mod doesnt touch those textures *at all* (yet)

    Yes this is extremely odd. I have the correct files installed from the main pack in the client install, and im using the redux trees and assets as well as particles. All of your trees are in game as are your particles and items but all vanilla textures are now low res in both 2k and 4k packs. Im trying to see what I could have done to cause this

    So anyone else notice that zombies spawn a lot in this pack? I'm in the wilderness surrounded by birds and trees yet I have probably 20 zombies shuffling around. All I'm doing at the moment is crafting stone arrows to try and kill them and then more spawn anyway.... is this intended functionality? Its getting to the point where I am considering cheating in a blunderbuss or two :(

     

    Actually, once I killed about 40 zombies they stopped spawning, so far so good.

     

    This is indeed intended. Zombie spawns have been increased.

  12. We are officially launched. I kinda surprised sphere with this so its going to be there just may take a few :D

     

     

    Also wanted to now officially say that we are proud to be the first mod with 100 percent working Quality with full stats on crafting and even loot and traders as well as gamestaged Wandering Hordes up to GS 10,000 if we wanted thanks to our resident genius WookieNookie. For some reason Vanilla WH are hardcoded at GS50 and then they repeat so no variation in your WH as you increase in levels. Thats all different now.

    He has been excited for months now when he cracked the code but I kept having to tell him to hold off and wait until I released :D

     

    Well now he can get his MUCH deserved credit. We watched as 17.2 introduced the colored days for blood moons, something Wookie had done for us more than a month ago

  13. Ravenhearst 5.0 has been RELEASED!!!!

  14. I seriously cannot wait for this mod so I can be excited to play 7D2D again. Vanilla progression gets boring outside of day 21 and I can't wait for the amazing-ness that is Ravenhearst!

     

    Thank you for the kind words. SO much work went into this by a lot of different people. We hope everyone enjoys it. Always remember RH is by no means a finished affair. We plan to add so much more as time goes along but like A17 this was a reset for us. We got as much as we could in without delaying too much longer. We wanted to get this into your hands as soon as possible.

     

    We think its a solid release. We can't wait to hear feedback from everyone.

    A lot of people are probably wondering what the hold up is. Performance. Our team is dedicated this go around to making sure there are no errors in SP or MP. We have multiple tests going on, we caught some big ones this week and I am confident in saying when we do release it will be one of our most thoroughly tested ones ever. The last thing we want is server wipes or nulls so we are dotting our i's and crossing our t's

     

    Our crew is amazing. And I am very proud of what we accomplished, and I am so excited for the future because even though this is just a baseline and it is missing some stuff, it is still VERY enjoyable. You guys know how critical I have been. If I am having a blast playing I know you guys will too. This is going to get bigger and better as each version releases. And I look forward to interacting with you all here again in a positive manner for once :D

  16. We won't be releasing on 17.2, but 17.1. There are a number of reasons for this chief amongst them is so much is broken right now in 17.2 and the RWG is a useless pile of junk.

     

    We are in late stage testing right now, trying to track down one nasty bug. Release is coming, if we had our way it would already be released but we want to ensure that the release you get is near perfect and up to standards as possible. Notes will be releasing soon and we think you will LOVE what we have in store for you. And that the wait will definitely be worth it. I feels like a mix of 16 and 17 and that's exactly what I was hoping for. :)

  17. I wonder if it would be better to just give you a multidim plane, that could be placed on anything you craft out of blocks? So no model, just a 2D screen of a specified size that could be placed against a wall you build?

     

    Made a 9 by 4.5 block flatscreen (HD dim) and it seems to work well. Im not sure what to do about the .5 as it leave a gap you cant fill in if you want a clean surround. i can make it 9 by 5 but there will be some video stretching on HD vids.

     

    The half block wont be any issue for me as i plan to make the background back with a red curtain on either side. That multi dim plane idea sounds VERY intriguing, not going to lie. That would make it very customizable to any area we build. I certainly would not turn you down on that one :)

  18. First I want to stress how amazing this is. We are holding a Night of the Living Dead viewing using this. The possibilities are endless.

     

    I have a question/request if at all possible. Is there a way to include a screen projector size asset for this? Say 5m or so in height? I was going to build a movie theater JUST for this and wanted something a bit bigger.

     

    If not understandable you have a lot on your plate. Thank you for such amazing work.

  19. i have a small lag when i spawn them from the menu by hand, on the first one only, and its just a cople of seconds. not if i ran into them in game, and so far has not crashed ever. i though it was my potato computer. idk if someone else had that issue also.

     

    You can count me in on that too. Finally got a chance to give these a look and they are fantastic but indeed on the first spawn my screen locked up for a few seconds, probably 5 or more.

     

    Never had any freezes with UMA once i did the texture trick so Im assuming its probably the initial load up of the asset file. Also I have a potato, like the king of potatoes lol. But considering I modded RH on it including the custom zeds I made with no freezes like that I just wanted to mention it just in case other do report it.

     

    Running my game with no reflections, half texture quality and lowest UMA.
