  1. According to the Redditor, Microsoft GamePass games don't allow people to access a game's main directory. And he said the Pimps will eventually make it so you can't put the Mods folder in the main directory at all. As of now you can have the folder in either location, or both at the same time.

He has the game now and I gave him a list of in-game zombies that I feel best match the movements of the movie zombies. Questions: Is there any flexibility in the animations? Would it be possible to more closely match Tarman's awkward, swaying walk? I noticed that the Lab zombie seems to have the same walking animation as the Business man, but both her arms are down where the Business man's left arm is held up a little. Is her animation completely unique or can existing animations be edited? Also, would it be possible to spawn Bub with a handgun that he would shoot you with, but only when he spawns in a specific location, closely matching the end of the movie when he shoots Rhodes?
  3. I made a YouTube video about my favorite mods. One of them is called the Yakov Performance Mod. All it does is add these two lines... gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1 gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1 ...to the game's boot.config file. I was under the impression that it allowed the game to push more work to the GPU, but someone on Reddit responded to my video saying that it makes the CPU work better, which in turn allows for more frames to be pushed to the GPU resulting in higher GPU usage. Can somebody explain this to me as if I don't know how any of this stuff works...because I don't? Also can someone explain how none of my CPU cores or threads get any more than 50% usage, yet the game is considered taxing on the CPU? Wouldn't that mean it should show a high percentage of use? As for mods in general...the Redditor also told me that the Mods folder should be put in the appdata folder and not the game's main directory. Is that true? I believe him, but I just want to double check with someone deep in the know...aka staff. Thank you. P.S. Let me just get a copy of A22. I will keep it a secret. And you know I'm gonna play it like a motherf@#ker so you'll get some QA outta me. Not that @Jugginator and crew aren't the best, because they are. But it will be real world, remote conditions...I don't know. Think about it.

Ok. I'll let him know. He's also asking which zombies in the game each model is going to be modded onto. I guess so he could match everything. Do these in-game polygon counts and points of articulation?

Ok cool. I'm about to pull the trigger on this. The modeler asked "He wants an strict t pose or an anatomic one?" And "Can you ask him if he needs the model's rags with some body weight paint or is he going to use the collision physics of the clothes?" And I hate to make this more complicated but he's asking for one of the game's models so he can use it as a reference. "But he can sent u some basemesh? Doesn't matter if the mesh doesn't have textures I only need the same basemesh to use the same polygonal count".
  6. I did remove the mod a second time later that night but I never spawned it in so it didn't affect anything. Also, putting the mod back didn't restore my player data, and what's odd is that it wiped the player data for an unrelated save. Though I did find out last night that not all of my saves were affected. I loaded into a different one and everything was there. Weird.

I want them to look as good as what's already in the game. Would 4k textures be necessary?
  8. I think I might have the same problem. I was testing out the OCB Leveling Tool, which allows you to make the surrounding terrain go flush with blocks that you put in the ground, and for some reason I wanted to see if the ground would still be flush if I was to remove the mod from my Mods folder. Well, when I logged back in I saw that the terrain remained flush but all my player data got wiped. No matter which save I open, I'm reset. Is there anything I can do about this?

I was thinking of finding someone on Fivver or something to make the model, or maybe 3 models. Tarman, the zombie from Creepshow (my avatar) and Bub from Day of the Dead. I was inspired to consider this when I saw your cloth physics. The Tarman has all sorts of ripped clothes hanging off him. What would cause a model to suck? Would there be anything I'd have to tell the modeler?

Oh my God this looks GREAT!

OH I thought you modeled these. Ok. Let's say I wanted to pay someone to make a model and rig it. Could I just give it to you and you could make a mod of it?

Awesome! Now, this might be a longshot but seeing as you got cloth physics going, do you think you could make the Tarman zombie from Return of the Living Dead? I see that you made the plaid shirt zombie from Dawn of the Dead. That's so great. Also are one of your zombies the zombie from the City of the Living Dead poster?

Your zombie packs are amazing! I can't believe I waited so long to install them. I just loaded all 3 in yesterday and I ran into a few glitches. I'm on 21.2 and the only other mods I have going are Doughphunghus's Dark Nights, the OCB Leveling Tool and Yakov's Performance Mod. As a note, the electricity from the stun baton does display on the big guy, just not the flames.
  14. Happy '24...and the upcoming 22 in a few months...hopefully.
  15. There's a mod called the Winchester which spawns a relentless amount of zombies when you attempt to open an airdrop, and on top of that it takes 14 seconds to open the crate. They're nearly impossible to deal with though unless you have a friend with you or you have the best weapons, and getting the best weapons is considerably more difficult in this mod.
  16. Awesome! Thank you both! Also, would it be possible for a modder to create a way to store game data and have it be played back or would that be too complex?
  17. So when he loads up the save the game is live then, meaning everything that happens from that point on is new action? Also, would you know how he's doing the freeze frame stuff, where he had the zombies frozen in midair and was able to move the camera around them?
  18. It would be the saved telemetry data being played back in the game engine. That's what theater mode is like in Call of Duty. It saves a match and you can play it back from any perspective. It certainly looks like that's what's happening in this video. He's freezing time, reversing it, changing the speed, the camera angles, the weather...and it looks like he's doing it within the game with console commands. Maybe @Jugginator could shed some light on what's going on in the video?
  19. I was watching a video where Guns Nerds & Steel said he uses game save backups to record additional 3rd person footage for his videos. In the video I pasted here, it looks like theater mode, where you can go back into a game, play the save back like a video and view anything from any angle. Is that the case here, or am I missing something?
  20. I got a site maintenance message when trying to get on yesterday
  21. Before i write up a bug report, I just want to double check. Since A21.2 there have been times where I can't jump. I hop like maybe an inch. The Known Issues list says, "inconsistent jump height". Is that the same thing? It consistently happens when I try to jump over the railing at Trader Bob's, in front of his north side door. The first attempt has no height, as if there is an invisible ceiling. But subsequent jumps work fine.
  22. When extracting the files, my thought was that it was the same as the performance "mod" because the only available files for said mods are default game files (boot.config for the performance mod and worldglobal for the dark nights mod). I didn't see the typical array of files and folders that I've been used to seeing, but I've only installed a small handful of mods so I'm not all that familiar. As for the performance mod, all you have to do is replace the game's config file with theirs, so I figured it would be the same for this. I'm learning that modding for this game can be done in multiple ways. But I dropped it in the mods folder and it's great. I can't see @%$#. It's all silhouettes like we're back on alpha 16. My first thought when encountering a wandering horde a 2:30am was "I gotta start a new game with this". This is how the game should be...or at the very least, have a built in option. Or I guess I can just keep running this mod, because it's doing what I was hoping it would do.
