JaxTeller718
As a way of thanking everyone for helping me with modding, I am sharing my custom icons files with you guys. These are all created by me. Everyone feel free to use these, credit is always nice and welcome too A lot of these are new items I added to the game myself. Lots of food stuff. Feel inspired to use these to make new recipes for yourself. There are a few new icons I used to update older icons for my own amusement. If people like these I will make more or possibly even take requests. I love making these icons as I feel they add a lot of variety to the game. Enjoy. ******UPDATED******* Updated with new icons and all file sizes now 116*80. Thanks to Valmar for his help. https://www.mediafire.com/?q3axh5ajqxg3bpu
Valmar
I'm gone for two days and almost missed this little gem. Thank you sharing. Should I ever go the custom-icon route I will likely be using some of these. The groundbeef is too big, btw.

StompyNZ
I you open the images folder in windows explorer and right click the bar where it has name etc, click more, and add dimensions you can quickly see which icons need a size adjustment
Razzoriel
How are you guys adding icons? I never saw those errors myself.
Valmar
The built-in mod interface. No SD2DX or asset modding required - anyone can do it just by adding images in a folder. Thanks to Alloc http://7daystodie.gamepedia.com/Mod_Interface#Item_Icons After the files are in that file, can you just name them as they are in the .xmls? Valmar
Yes, thats how it works. Any image in that folder that has the same name as an item or block in your xml will be used as that item/block's icon. All without breaking EAC. It doesn't push to clients on servers, however. Of course your images do have to follow a certain sizing guideline as detailed in the wiki (or... gamepedia) but other than its pretty simple and straight forward. Razzoriel
Yeah, they all follow that standard, though. Thanks for the heads-up.

Razzoriel
I apologize, then, if I misunderstood your question. No need to apologize, you were very respectful and helpful, wtf. Also no need to apologize for apologizing. Canadian, right? Thanks again!
Valmar
The way you worded it made me think I missed the question and stated something already obvious to you. Sorry.
Razzoriel
The way you worded it made me think I missed the question and stated something already obvious to you. Maybe it's my brazillian-ness showing. Language barriers, and ♥♥♥♥. Didn't meant to be disrespectful.
JaxTeller718
Oh wow, this is totally my misunderstanding of things. I guess by using SD2DX, which cancels the EAC i did not realize that the correct size was 116 and not 118. I will adjust all of them tonight for use with normal servers and games. Sorry about that. Another lesson earned
JaxTeller718
Updated file now up, with proper sizes and new icons. Sorry about that.
Valmar
@Razz Oh, no worries, you weren't disrespectful at all. I just got confused. It happens - a lot in my case. @Jax Thanks for the update! I really like the ladders, btw. I hate the in-game icon of them because its practically invisible. Lol.
Crock
Hi, Can you tell me where to install these icons?? I am not sure where to put them.. I have a few icontest folders and not sure how to combine them and where. All help is appreciated. Rock
Valmar
You place them in the Mod folder in your game's directory. The path should look like this: SteamApps - Common - 7 Days to Die - Mods - ItemIconTest - ItemIcons - PICTURE ICONS ARE HERE If you don't have a Mods folder in your 7DTD directory you'll have to make one. Just put all the images you want to use into the ItemIcons folder as shown above. Does that help?

Just put all the images you want to use into the ItemIcons folder as shown above. Does that help? Since i got a dedicated, i put them like: ../steamapp/common/7 Days to Die Dedicated Server/Mods/ItemIcons/Fajita.png and added <item id="808" name="adminTool"> <property name="Meshfile" value="Items/Tools/augerPrefab" /> <property name="Material" value="metal" /> <property name="HoldType" value="20" /> <property name="CustomIcon" value="Fajita"/> Not working, i'm able to select the tool, but it's showing up with an empty icon. Does that only work, when i copy the files on my CLIENT? -> Then no one else besides me connecting to dedicated will see it :-(
StompyNZ
../steamapp/common/7 Days to Die Dedicated Server/Mods/ItemIcons/Fajita.png try ../steamapp/common/7 Days to Die Dedicated Server/Mods/ItemIconTest/ItemIcons/Fajita.png ItemIconsTest is the mod name, ItemIcons is a subfolder of the mod
Matite
Any custom icons you add are not passed to the client from the dedicated server (maybe in the future). The top folder name for the custom icons doesn't really matter e.g. I did: \Mods\MattsIcons\ItemIcons (ModInfo.XML was in "MattsIcons" and the icons in "ItemIcons") ...and they worked fine (in single player).
