Question about armor and stamina

In the journal it says under stamina "This armor costs you extra stamina while walking or running"

 

What about standing still and mining? Do you burn more stamina swinging a pickaxe while wearing armor or is it literally just using more stamina while moving?

I dunno, but you could test it by taking your armor off while mining and see if your stamina

goes down more slowly.

I think I tested that in early A18, and found essentially the same amount of steel pickaxe swings from a full bar of stamina with or without armor.

 

Don't take it as gospel, though, I didn't record the findings and didn't do a proper comprehensive test, just swung at a piece of concrete until out of stamina and compared the block health.
