It has become pretty common to call the easiest difficulty "Story Mode" but unfortunately we can't really do that due to the absence of a story. =P

SMG + machete are probably the least viable, at least sniper and spear get explosives to off set how bad those two weapons are
Pistols and knives are one of the most OP builds if you play to their advantages.
A lot of players rate attributes by how well they support their preferred play style. =P

So basically, despite the fact this is where balance was not focused, the four other attributes could hold their own solo, to varying degrees (depending on the type of weapon), but the Intellect built would have the most trouble in this regard. M60 vs horde? Easy. Shotgun vs horde? No problem. Sniper + explosives vs horde? Doable. Pistols + SMG against horde? A cakewalk. Turrets vs horde? Obscenely difficult.
What are you even talking about?
Do you expect "just turrets" to do all the for for you while you watch? At no point was such a thing even suggested.

The junk turret in general is kind of bad on that front in A19 TBH. It's resource cost vs other weapons is really high for something that's supposed to be the cheapest weapon type that only uses iron.
I don't think it says anywhere that it's supposed to be the cheapest. It's certainly the weapon with the most easily attained ammo type.
The damage of 2 turrets is in no way supposed to be equal to a maxed out T3 gun. That would be silly because it works in addition to the weapon you are holding - which can be anything.

your sarcasm is toxic , or you have a bad sense of humor. there is no place for that here . thank you
Oh, it was funny the first time - not when people repeat the exact same joke over and over.

Not really.
The whole smelting materials into the forge (smelter) is a silly mechanic that is unnecessarily hard to understand because no smelter works that way IRL.
They do not store a huge quantity of 5 different materials internally.
You smelt something and then you have an output of material so the chem station setup would be a lot more realistic for it.
That changes nothing with the gameplay. You need fuel to turn raw ores and other smeltables into ingots. Simple.
Scrapping things into base material for 100% return can be done at the workbench.

That depends on how well the person likes you.

Have you been on Steam lately?? They're already ranting about how long it takes between alphas... can't imagine how worse it'll get in a few months.
But they do this with every alpha so that's nothing new.

Don't worry too much about words.
Even the word word can change.

I tried but by now that ship has sailed.
It was a lot worse before. =P

Predators are extremely dangerous though. They have more attack damage than many Zds, so I understand why you are ranting. Remember to rant at Gazz when these things happen. He is always there for you.
Well, I appreciate hearing about those because then I can put another mark on the chalk board. 😃
Bears or mountain lions are no joke - neither IRL nor in the game.

Yes, they do work like bedrolls. Have you not tried that?

But the fact that Z's can hear you thru walls (or underground for that matter) at 100 ft. range has always been one of my pet peeves. I was just feeling a little snarky that day
"Awake" zombies are more attentive and can hear you at much longer ranges than sleepers.
An unsuppressed rifle can get you a lot of attention.

You can buy stainless steel bras and we don't know what she is wearing.
(Do we want to?)

I hope you don't hate me, but the amount of what you carry could be solved with larger manufacturable or affordable backpacks, I would like the weight to be influential, having work tables, cars, motorcycles, and 10k of mineral in my backpack is not immersive. .
All you have to do is change the stack sizes of the things you want to carry less of.

The vehicles in 7D do count as water transport.

You mean a piece bonus, right? Each piece would still give their own bonuses If they were mixed but the set bonus would not be awarded unless all pieces from that set were being worn.
Different games do set boni differently.
Sometimes there is only one bonus for completion, sometimes every piece you add increments the set bonus amount/type.

There are min/maxers that will do ANYTHING to be more efficient, but on the opposite end of the spectrum there are gameplay mechanics that encourage tedius micromanagement because they are too good to pass up. Im NOT saying this is how it will play out, its just a thought on a possible downside.
Yes, obviously.
The proposed bonuses seem... really good... but that's just the first pitch. AFAIK no balancing has yet been done in the greater context of all the perks and assorted buffs.
We certainly don't want to get back to the Barbie Dressing Game of earlier alphas.
Could also have something like a set bonus cooldown.
Sure, you can switch gear anytime but any gear switch disables all these bonuses for 10-15 minutes. Constant switching would not be beneficial.

Oh, I know. =P
It's just neither broken nor a gameplay problem so kinda low priority.

@madmoleSo the downside I am seeing of this new clothing/armor thing is that my brain will want to always switch sets depending on my activity. I'm gonna go chop trees.. gotta find my lumberjack clothes and put those on. I'm going to mine for a while.. Gotta go find my mining outfit and put that one. etc etc etc. Im going to want to constantly switch outfits depending on what I am doing.. its micromanagement that is not fun, but would help your play.. a lot.
That's a minmaxer creating problems for himself.
Most players don't need to reach 100% in every conceivable stat in order to play the game.
5 hours ago, hiemfire said:@madmole is a radiation resistant lining mod something you guys are considering?
Of course... once radiation is part of the gameplay.
1 hour ago, Blake_ said:No, the game isn't interpreted by you guys as kickstarter nor steam described . Fully destroyable can only be interpreted as "Fully destroyable". And you guys are still cheaping out on the feature. I have faith in you though. Respawning is always easy to implement.
We're not going to remove bedrock which is the vast majority of indestructible blocks in the game.
Traders make up less than 0.5% of the map.

Everything is sexualised if that happens to be your fetish... so that statement is always true.

So many more better places than google for that, including the local strip joint.
And you'll probably more anonymous when using your local strip joint. =P

Well, that's the idea. We want you to find better loot in a major POI but that makes no sense whatsoever while it's defended by lvl 1 scrubs. =P

I like the slower progression early game, but I think exceptions to it need to be made -- if I take a huge risk and take two days to clear out a large, high level POI early on, then spend another half day smashing the chest open with my stone axe, the loot shouldn't be a level two blunderbuss.
We can not do this in A19.
Later we may have this "large, high level POI" work at an elevated gamestage so that _both_ the loot and the zombies are higher level.

Players assigning fictional release dates for the game has never been a concern.
It is also very much off topic here.
