Nope, it doesn't break the game.  If some idiot wants to constantly swap glasses on and off for a chance at more loot, let him!  I never waste time doing this and I sure don't waste time with the stupid loot goggle switching CONSTANTLY!  How stupidly unfun is that!

It is un-fun, but when you're trying to get a particular book/schematic... it's practical.

I just have 1 more book that I *need*, then I won't have to.  (then I can bulk craft 7.62 ammo. rest of the stuff, I can wait on)

Solar panels, yeah, only the secret stash, and the price has doubled (ouch)

I would like to see some other way to get them, as right now, ONLY the stash, and ONLY higher levels.

(yes, I know, I could just open creative, toss in the equiv dukes and snag'em that way)

Those vultures. If I venture into the wasteland and/or desert I try to park under a bushy tree to try and avoid them. i am then in stealth mode.

I just screech to a stop, hop off, and punch them into orbit.

(full brawler perks & books, q6 steel knuckles)

    :D

  3. By the time you're geared to handle the snow temps, said wildlife is nothing more than meat delivery systems.

driving to the trader, it's easy to come out with almost a thousand meat for the cost of some bullets.

(or if a cheapskate, drink a beer and punchypunch)  :D

(I've got over 3k meat stashed from the various runs into that zone.  heh)

Haven't gotten to the wasteland yet.   Did Dishong in the desert though.

Note: if someone spawns the 100 rabbits from mischiefmaker, it shuts off the zeds spawning in there. (maxalive limit)

Peaceful bunnies are one thing, when they morph into jackalopes though... um....  chaos!

    😛

  4. At least we don't have those stupid scrub bushes to worry about like in A16.

(and driving through the garbage bags no longer poofs them)

Of course, the upside now is, we can run down chickens and bunnies.   :D

  5. Those are very annoying, but a good source of mechanical parts.

I tend to do road clearing runs to get them and the busted cars out of the middle of the roads.

(cars of course, are gas stations)

    :)

  6. on Pregen10k,  there is a car just around the corner from many of the traders.

    fortunately, it is wrenchable.

Used to be there was one right in front that was not wrenchable (RNG may still put one there)

    (along with shopping carts etc)

could be what they're talking about.

  7. I do craft the machine guns, particularly Q5 M60.

Still haven't found any past Q3, so ..

I try not to craft the lower stuff unless I have to.  (iron tools/armor sure, no parts needed, so upgrade as fast as poss. steel stuff w parts...)

Steel knuckles the same, shotguns (pump/auto) same.

Never had to make high quality clubs though. (don't perk into it usually)

Thanks for the info.  I wasn't aware of the changes to the wasteland spawning mechanics.

My settings are default.  So if I wanted to tackle the wasteland quest, I'd almost have to stealth it, and use bows/melee weapons, and probably be much higher level?

What do you think the game designers have in mind as a strategy to complete that sort of mission?

I suspect it's "kill all the zeds first, quietly, THEN fire up the jennies and git outta dodge".

That or sitting back giggling while people do these.

    :D

  9. fyi, I never use the plots for mushrooms. Those go on the wall somewhere.

(If I take over a POI for a bit, or, when using the old bunker, it's the bathroom. seems appropriate given the state of cleanliness)

    😛

10x10 plots, using a checkerboard pattern.

currently have 2 of'em, more to follow after digging out the goodies below.

    (base is 10x10, walls 30x30)

  10. I've been doing 20 of ea of the main crops (corn, tater, shrooms)

50% would be 10 seeds.  that is about what I'm averaging, but last night got 13 tater seeds, so RNG liked me there.

Sometimes more , sometimes less, BUT even after upping to 20 seeds, I still show a net profit.

For SP this is fine.  For MP, it would still work, but just have to reinvest into seeds for a bit to grow the size.

Tossing 3 pts into that tree isn't much since I go heavy in that area anyway (heavy armor, MG/brawler)

For those who don't go down that one, well, that's your choice.  I don't go deep into INT/Agi until later in the game.

So I use more resources/time for smelting crafting.  (but full mining means I have more resources. trade off)

I DO prefer the having to replant btw, since the old way, I'd punch out a few crops by accident. (wonky hit boxes for a few crops)

Would I like the full perk to be a bit better on seed return?  Of course!

    It is workable though.

(go try getting a farm going in Valheim for oh, say turnips or onions, when you only find 3 miserable seeds.  How long until it's viable for crops?

(flax too, but that one ends.  BARLEY though....  heh.  You basically have to keep recreating the Great Plains)  😛
