  1. I've had some large caverns dug out of rock with no supports and it just would not fall down.

Dirt, that I try to get rid of until I get to rock. Sand of course, collapses if you just look at it.

Roads I've dug under and put supports up (pillars then the blocks between them)

Yes, I've driven into the open pits more than once.

    Channeling E.K no doubt.  :D

  2. cardio, healing, motherload/mining,

    cardio to run.

    healing well... duh.

the 2 mining ones help with doing dig quests,  Q2 axe/shovel.

I tend to go tanky/punchy/machinegunny  so... that's my start for that.

  3. I find them hilarious to use for hordenight.

The junkyard POIs  have the sunken bay (from auto repair type shops)..

With the right setup, the zeds tend to flock to that since they can't get to you and you just toss a bunch into that bay,, then 1 to set them all off.

I've bounced zeds off the ceiling doing that.

    Hilarious.

Trick is getting them into a nice cluster to make it worthwhile.

As for throw distance, block dmg etc:   not realistic with explosives yes.  10 zombies all stacked into hitting ONE block isn't realistic either.

(which is why I cut their block dmg to 25%)

Dynamite:  huge block damage.  used for clearing a road/shortcut through a mountain. WILL gen screamers fast though. (what a surprise)

Grenades: don't use much, so dunno.

Pipe Bombs:  a fun thing. use a lot.  (just like in Duke Nukem 3D.)  :D  Used on horde nights only, no screamers during that.

So no, they are not too strong.

oh, I play MY way, you play YOURS.  As long as we're having fun, both ways are fine.  :D

(you in the the generic sense)

  4. while it's random, it does tend to cluster.  Auger because it hits more often, procs more often. no duh.

With a steel pickaxe, it will proc, just keep smashing away.

Annoyingly, with the auger, the double procs always seem to be when I'm right near the end of the block, and the second one takes out the block below.

Messing up my nice tidy mining ops.  tsk.

(for fun, would be nice if that 1 hit would apply to zeds when using an auger.  instagib.  hee-hee)

    I still need more coffee.

  5. I just found the recipies for psgettie and tunafish gravytoast while looting a building.

already had 3 pts in master chef, but not the 4th pt yet, and now, I can delay that.

So yup, put at least 1 pt in cooking, unless you do a buncha dig quests (which you should), and get the recipies.

Save the canned stuff that can be used in recipies unless starving.

There's still a bunch you can eat otherwise.  (cat/dog food, chicken rations/soup (why is there no recipe for those!!), pears)

Sham should save some for sham chowder, but it is plentiful, so can eat that.

No way should anyone be starving, unless you go with lower loot %.  If you do that, then yer not gonna whine. Better not.

alternatively, put points into living off the land quickly and get a farm going. duh.  doesn't have to be a big farm.

(and don't make farm plots without 2 pts in LOTL. half price for plots. a no brainer)

    I need more coffee.

    :D

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Compo Pack as it has a number of really big POIs such as Airports, Stadia and skyscrapers.

Magolis Compo Pack (Current Thread) by Wolfbain5 and Stallionsden - Prefabs - 7 Days to Die

Have a look mate you may like what you see and as always here the community is always there to help and guide you through any questions you have.

It's very fun, but be caaarreeefuuullll.... some of them have Sooprizez!  heh-heh.

You want more zombies?  Try the compopak. heh-heh-heh.

    :D

(I was going to mention the pak when I saw the thread today, but ya beat me to it)

There are a couple really, really huge POI in it.

Not the original commenter but the knuckles are insanely OP. Especially when you get a book that "melee power attacks greatly increase your knockdown chance" and the "every melee fist punch (leather, iron, steel knuckles) heal you one health per punch" stuff gets insanely op. Just charge into a horde and focus one enemy at a time. Pair it with sexual rex, heavy armor, and the perk book "your armor does not weigh you down while In combat" you essentially become a tank. Infinite stamina, infinite knockdown, infinite attacks. It's deadly, which it has to be for melee.

As for HF, it's insanely OP. I always grab it the moment i can, I do believe what you engineered is a bug because I've never had that issue before. So i do wish you luck, i play on survivalist and the above build has never let me down!

May the hordes be small and the loot be large!

I wouldn't call it OP, but yes,  with the books, heavy armor, HF, IS, you do become a tank and very very hard to kill.

HOWEVER, charging into a mob and punchy punching away, while fun, t'ain't so fun when "your exhausted" (need a vitamin) or,  sprained arm. etc.

    (it happens, annoying too)

I do the STR/FORT build a lot.  Punch the individual/small groups, M60 for the big groups or the green ones.

One punch popping the head of a bear is soooooo satisfying though.  :D

(same for one-shotting those stupid leaping lizard zeds. I really really hate them.)

I never noticed any extra food drain. But using food faster to heal faster, well, does make sense.

(and if you have a buncha points in Fort, then you should have a farm and be making better foods)

(sham should be going to sham chowder of course, as you do get an HP buff, which if melee fighting, you are going to want)

  8. The one I'm talking about is a small airport.  Longest runway is 3500', the other is 2600.

Put the thing in the blowed up lands, and you don't need the runways (they've be blowed up)

Just a bit to show where they were.

For the wartime version, add the H shaped barracks. Gotta have somewhere for the zombie pilots.

    :D

The hangar (put 4 barns together, and that's the size you'd need for a bunch of small cessnas),

slap the stripmall business bldgs on the side kinda things (but 1 floor), and the tower is not a big thing,

it's on the corner and well, that's already in game at the top of the shotgun messiah factory.

    T4 sounds about right,

Actually if you wanna go big, make an international airport, but it would be a town in it's own right.

(won't make base game, but as a DLC..... )

Jumbo jets yes, and while I'd like them to go BOOMY, they'd make handy POI in their own right.

  9. Even a small airport would have an Office, lounge, kitchen/snackbar, bathrooms, classroom (for teaching pilots), and a small tower. 3-4 floors.

1 Hangar with several offices.  Firestation (small one)

That's what our local had, plus a few other old bldgs left from WW2. (which is when it was built)

So even a small airport could have a buncha stuff in it. (and if left over from the war(s), you could add bunkers too.

Something like an international airport, .. um.. yeah, potato pcs are gonna barf on that. (would be nice to have though)

    :D

oh, if you DO put in an airport, then we would need some small aircraft. They must be able to go BOOM if the zeds bang on'em too much.

(or if someone accidentally hits it with a rocket...)  😛

Most people play SP or MP on private servers (better performance) so the swing animations are always in-sync.

MP has never been the main focus of the game since most of us play SP and (I think) this game was born as SP, so they'll get there but probably much much later.

Now that they can, I'm curious to see if they'll release statistics regarding how many players play SP vs MP BTW. 🤔

My server is 4' behind me. I still get the the hits with no swing animation.

I've also had the hit THEN the swing.

It's random, so very very hard to pin down.

  11. Ground roads should be ok, but the elevated highways are always busted up.

You can fix them in the game though. (they do make nice starting bases though. zeds don't seem to spawn up top, just below)

  12. About the set bonus, I think ppl are asking if it will work in the way of Diablo 3.

    2 pc bonus: blabla

    4 pc bonus: blabla

Alot goes on where you try for bonus from 2 sets that have a good synergy. (and the ring that means you get the bonus with 1 less piece, but min is 2pcs)

So is it that style, or just 1 extra bonus for the full set only?

oh, as for the swapping outfits for short times, yeah, some are, but for mining, I tend to spend the night mining, then other stuff in daytime

swapping out just for hitting the traders, well, even that I tend to just do every 3 days.

Of course, all this will depend on just what the set bonus actually are. (gotta wait for that)

    :)

now I need moar coffee. stayed up too late watching movies again.  I'll never learn.  😛

  13. Clothing sets for what you plan to do, well, you kinda have that IRL, so don't see a problem for it in game, nor switching to them for the activity.

    Mining: hard hat. boots. derp.

    Farming, chopping etc.

Zed killing? Guns. Lotsa guns.   (or  Big f'n guns..  too small.  oh yeah..)

If the set bonus are worth it, yep I'll be switching.  (no diff than having coffee for mining, or beer for punchypunch time)

    :D

(could use a pitchfork for the farmer.  just for the screenshots)   😛

I've asked about having them generate in pristine condition, but gotten no reply.

How do you keep the day at 1 while repairing the highways? Usually I just do it as I explore the map along the highways, placing wet concrete blocks to span the gaps as I go. Makes the trip "home" a lot easier.

Godmode, creative menu for the completed blocks (to cut down on xp gain), and keep turning the clock back.

Would be a boatload of work though, and probably not worth it.

  15. I do gen the preview as it is something I want to have.

One of these times, I'm going to spend the time and repair the highways, but keep it at day 1.

(unless I can figure out how to have them not be all busted up)
