Just was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this. Here is what's been happening since Alpha 20.
Launch 7 Days to die through Steam>Play the game> exit the game> 7 days to die freezes> Steam Freezes>wait....>open task manager to kill the game> nothing happens> Kill Steam> Try to put the computer to sleep> The screen goes black the the computer stays on>Hard reset the PC by holding the power button down>Boot the PC> Start all over again.
This is specific to 7 Days to die, I can play other games from steam, close them and put my computer to sleep without a problem. 7 Days to die crashes itself and steam when trying to exit.
Thanks

In Alpha 20, will the bug where vehicles vanish into the ground be fixed?

@faatal Is there a plan in the future to turn the woodstove into a functional stove that we can load wood and/or coal into and cook on that maybe has more benefits than a campfire? Thanks

Dearest Faatal,
Please spend between 70, and 450+ developer hours, valued by the company at 60 to 80+ dollars an hour, working on an obscure and very complicated feature for me. This feature has no resale value or marketing value, and will not entice a potential buyer into actually making the final purchase. In fact, my feature will appeal to no one besides customers who already paid $7 for your product 5 years ago and have put 2,000 hours into it.
I think this investment of the most highly contested resource at your company (developer time) will be very well spent on my obscure and barely marketable feature.
Best wishes,Every gamer who has never worked at a big company before and has never had to answer the "And who will pay for this? What else could that developer time be spent on?" line of questioning
Dear The Fun Pimps,
I appreciate that you have spent over 7 years working on implementing, balancing, and programming the zombies, but I regret to inform you that I do not, in fact, like zombies. Please add an option to remove this unwanted feature from my interactions with the game. Furthermore, I also regret to inform you that I do not appreciate your addition of crafting, eating, or looting, or most of all, shooting. Please add an option for those of us who wish to run in an empty field and complete jump puzzles
Sincerely,
Random obscure internet forum poster #2342394
Actually there is an option to remove zombies from the game and make it just a survival game. 😁

Not sure I'm a fan of bandits...If they do release, please make a variety of personalities. Aggressive, Neutral, Friendly. Most of all, an option to disable them. Thanks

Helicopter controls are rather more complex. There's a vehicle mod with a helicopter with true helicopter controls (within the limits of vehicle controls in 7d2d), and it is a challenge.
Unless you mean go up and down like a helicopter and forward like a plane?
Exactly, which would also allow us to hover.

@faatal First person view sounds great for vehicles. But I've got to say, the physics and controls of driving the vehicles is a priority IMO. Right now they feel robotic and stiff, especially the Gyro. Would be nice for the gyro to operate like a helicopter, or similar to the gyro of the Road Warrior movie. Lift off right from where you are, no need to drive forward to lift off. Either way, keep up the great work!! Best game ever!

Justin is adjusting all non tree plants, which would include all biomes. Don't know what he is doing with winter ground textures.
Would be great if in the winter biome there was no grass. Not until you dig down anyways...

I believe weather survival was part of the outfit redesign, which was postponed to a21. As for food... do you lack food? Food is too abundant to me. Also, eating to fullness twice a day is more than enough (60 min days), which is very reasonable.
Then there's all the gaming aspects of both weather and food. For weather, for example, are you using hazmat as armor? Do you have the Well Insulated perk? Drinking coffee or yucca smoothie on the cold? For food, do you drink Red Tea before stamina-intensive tasks? Do you have the Slow Metabolism perk? Do you have ergonomic grips on the weapons and tools you use? Do you use low-stamina weapons and tools?
I don't think the game communicates all these choices very well, and I think they are not well balanced either. The perks are too expensive in my opinion. All other things you can do to offset food and weather issues will only be acquired by the time you don't need to concern yourself with food and weather anyway. In a way, it makes sense since survival should be a struggle early on. On the other hand, the problems caused by food and weather are nowhere near the hassle that is addressing them. It's just easier to drink more water and eat more food.
But I digress. I'm in a mood today. 😕
I agree, with the highlighted above, especially the perk system. An easy solution that would work very well (YES I am going to beat this dead horse again) is Leveling up by doing. Or at least a hybrid system with what we have now. Level up by doing but get some point(s) to customize your character manually towards perks. Core skills like Tool use, fighting, eating, Type of weapon use, under water breathing etc.. should all be level up by doing. Then when we level up we get points towards stuff like 10% more ore when mining, 50% more damage with headshots etc... This would balance the game out very well IMO. Current perk system is too expensive, I always play with 300% XP enabled. I don't have as much time anymore, got kids...

The Walking Dead!!! Yes, the city's from there would fit epicly in the 7 Days to Die world
I was mostly talking about the large highway full of cars, but yeah the city looks great too. 👍
Also, I was wondering if the game will be getting rudimentary weapons that can be seen and found in the world? For example: I see a lead pipe, crowbar, 2x4 wood, etc.. laying on the ground, I pick it up and use it, no crafting required. Similar to how we see stones, pick them up and use them. Would be nice to see more basic weapons.

Would be amazing if every map had a highway from the city to the map boundary that looked like this. Is that in the works? Would be great for car looting and also look really amazing!

Hi
What will the default setting for the below be? Day, or?
Thanks
7) Feral Sense Game Option
- When turned on Zombies can sense the player from much farther away and stay focused on the optimal path to where the player is
- Stealth still works but zombie senses are heightened so stealth play is much more challenging
- Settings are: Off, Day, Night, All

Take a poll, I can guarantee you most will vote in favour. Make it work, buy the rights if you have to. Please.

In A20, surprise, there are some switches that open doors where they drop and were then staying asleep.
You could also remove a block they were standing on.
Any ideas floating around where doors when the are visually damaged to the point of having a small hole, auto unlock? Make sense since you could just stick your hand in and unlock it. Also, having doors that are locked from one side and not from the other.

Would be amazing if we would have a chance to run into a room like this, especially at night. Image taken from I am legend. Put 10-20 zombies in a tight room. All sleepers standing.

Thanks for the reply Roland. Kinda burst my bubble, oh well. Still a great game though.

I noticed that the description just changed and has more info now. So wait, does this mean aside from the current game mode, there is only an option to make them more smarter and aggressive? I was really looking forward to making the zombies more dumb, kinda like The walking dead TV show style zombies. Please confirm.

I am really looking forward to this. I also hope the permadeath mode will be added as a menu/game option.
7) Feral Sense Game Option
- Set zombies to different states of awareness from dumb to feral (seeing and hearing)

Please bring back Levelling up by doing.
