Mod suggestion/idea: Turbo Survival

I absolutely love how the game flows in its vanilla state, but my current life situation doesn't always allow for long gaming sessions, and it could go days and weeks between every 7th day.

 

My suggestion is the turbosurvival gameplay! (Numbers below are just examples)

1) You gather/harvest many times as fast as normal

2) You skill up increasingly fast

3) Crafting speed multiplied accordingly

 

4) Blood moon every night

5) You have a total of 5(?) lifes, shared between all the members of the team(?)

6) Every blood moon night is increasingly harder than the previous.

 

What does this lead to?

You build your base in one day. Survive a night, expand the base, survive the second night, and so on.

The blood moon nights are increasingly hard which makes surviving the night seriously difficult.

When the lives are used, its permadeath, and the game is over.

 

This would be a more arcade-ish style where the goal is to try to survive more bloodmoons than the last game, and you and your friends could play many such games during one evening.

 

Does any similar mod exist? If no, is it possible to make within the games limitations?

Another vote for GNAMod. It does almost exactly everything you want.

 

"Lives" can't really be coded, that'd have to be an honour system. GNAMod also just gives you cash so you can buy resources (and it also gives you a lot of resources to buy), so increased levelling isn't needed in that regard.

 

Aside from that, the rest of your ideas are do-able but it would take a lot of work. Crafting speed would have to be set in every single recipe (and the modder would need to look at the default values) and every item would need to have it's XP value altered.

 

Actual, proper bloodmoon is an easy DLL mod (there's a patch already for altered bloodmoon days) and the gamestage file takes care of the increased difficulty. :)

I was thinking that or just granting an item to give the perk for free and remove the requirements. :)
