Installing A21 Stable - Server install via Steamcmd (game version issue)

I've tried twice now to install a fresh copy of A21 server using steamcmd. I am not using any flags to get experimental. I simply use app_update 294420

 

However, both times it installed A21.1. From everything I've read, this is not the current stable version. Anyone know why it is installing this version?

If you're getting the experimental, you aren't simply using app_update 294420. You would only get that if you had the -beta tag for the experimental build.

Interesting. Maybe I had the same happening to me a few days ago, but I am not entirely sure. I thought I had downloaded the stable server (for a test where version didn't matter) only to then find out that it was identical to the experimental in a file to file compare.

I can confirm this is an issue.  I have just installed a fresh version to test mods separately to my MP game and running the 'version' command shows 21.1 in the console.  My install script contains the following:

steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +app_update 294420 -validate +quit

 

Modifying the script to include "-beta alpha21.0" seems to appear to have resolved it
