Can't connect with friend

My friend and I were playing for 2 weeks. Now and again I can't connect to her game.

We are both playing with Xbox Game Pass.

I see a lot of warnings for EoS, but not sure that is related. Be sure you have excluded the client and save from security software.  Details are in the Pinned support FAQ.

 

The actual error when you are trying to join relates to an invalid block type. This usually indicates either corrupted client files, or mods being involved.  Don't validate until after you have done the exclusions. That could be the reason for the corrupted data.

I was having the same issue. I have an adgaurd server I use for DNS and thought that might be the issue. Turned it off and it didn't fix. It seems to only be an issue with p2p servers. I can't figure out why though. I turned on my VPN to bypass any special stuff I have with my network and it worked for about 30 minutes then I lost connection and began receiving the same issue.

Slyen Thunder, what do you mean by don't validate? I have not seen any options on validating or not. As far as mods my friend has no mods loaded on the game.

Has anyone found a fix for the issue yet?

Validation is a Steam process where it checks for missing and or corrupted games and redownloads them. I’m not on my pc right now but you right click on 7 Days in Steam through one of the options listed, you should find Validate Integrity of Game Files. It is usually recommended to run this at least twice.

Ok. I didn't want to assume the steam validation and be wrong. I downloaded it on my pc through the Xbox app because it was free with a game pass. It was working prior to the previous update.

Me too... I tried to reinstall the game, but this didn't work.
