all Console versions need updates!

Dear funpimps, I am one of your players that play your game on console and I know you guys had some issues on getting some updates out a few years ago after The telltale thing happened. But we console players need updates ASAP and I would say the first round of updates is to stabilize the game so it doesn't crash when you play certain items or too many of those items. Then some much-needed new content update would be amazing at least be an update or two behind PC and then eventually catch up with PC. But as the game stands now it is an enjoyable game but it needs some serious fixing

Bad news: TFP seem not to have gotten the source code when they got the rights back after that auction ~3-4 years ago. Even if they had it would be doubtful they could do much as the game had massive problems running on that relatively weak hardware.

 

TFP will produce (or let someone produce) a new console version up to par with the PC, but it is almost guaranteed (IMHO) that it won't fit on the older console generation even though they kept the possibility open for now.

Not to mention that thanks to limitations imposed by Sony and Microsoft regarding save file integrity, The console version could never get to A16 because it would break existing saves. Literally the only thing that could be added to the console at this point is some a16 content and engine optimization. 

 

Even if TFP managed to get the source code for the consoles, they still would not be able to update the game there. They aren't the publisher for the existing client.

That's how you have to look at it. An enjoyable game that is going to remain in its current state much like many other video games on consoles that don't follow an ongoing update path and are forever locked into whatever they are.
