Is there any way to disable the version number that persists in the upper right corner of the screen?

Look up some articles online regarding image retention on OLEDs. TrustedReviews, Rtings and Consumer Reports have good articles and videos on the subject.

There are tools built into the TV menu that can help. Test the Screensaver setting to see what triggers it to come on when you take a break. Pixel Shift moves the screen up-down-left-right slightly to avoid hotspots. Adjust Low Brightness should dim static bright areas after a while. the Screen Clean feature should only be done occasionally, as it can actually wear out pixels if done too often

Perhaps just switch the TV to another input channel to simulate a screensaver when you get up for a break every so often to refresh the pixels. The act of changing inputs itself  will help. As long as you don't ONLY play a game (or watch a news channel) 24/7, and you turn off the TV every day, it really should not be much of an issue on newer OLEDs.
