Question about the kill command

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask about this but the kill command that is supposed to kill all the zombies, does that also kill all the other players as well?  We have increased the zombie spawn rates on our server so sometimes when we do the Tier 5 big skyscrapers so many zombies start building up down below that performance really takes a hit.  I was wondering if I could just use the kill command every so often to clear the zombies out but I didn't want to kill my friends as well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Edit: We've also noticed that if there are enough zombies down below that the sleeper zombies will no longer spawn in these big buildings which makes Clear quests impossible to complete.  So that makes wiping all the zombies out more important.

It does not kill players.

it does do damage to traders, but since traders are immortal they don't die.
