The_Great_Sephiroth
Somebody please tell me this is a bug. Unless the 3090 added required shaders, this can't be right... The 3090's are not worth $4,000. Also, this just started. We have been on this save for over a week and now this happens every time we are near our base. SylenThunder
Those are all normal. I doubt they just started today.
The_Great_Sephiroth
The second ones did start today. The first one has been there. The ones about points being coplanar was not there between day 1 and day 3. They started showing up on day 4. I ASSUME it is due to the terrain being changed in some way, either by zombies, bullets hitting the terrain and changing it slightly, or something else. Jugginator
All cases of those seen have been with electric fence posts, rare cases with generators and turrets. Each one is tied to a hookup, you can delete power.dat which will remove all wiring + engines/gas/ammo, so take those out first. It's a known issue. And yeah those shader warnings mean nothing and aren't related. Edited July 4, 2021 by Jugginator (see edit history)
The_Great_Sephiroth
That explains why the coplanar stuff is new. We added electric fences. Thanks! I had assumed it was terrain-related.

I had assumed it was terrain-related. You're welcome. Sorry about that it can be quite nasty on a server, lag included. They tend to pop up when there are a ton of them and, at least in an investigation I did along with other user reports, when there are crisscrossing wiring and/or various elevations with wiring going through < full cube blocks (e.g. plate blocks). The errors pop up upon chunk load, so you can do manual debugging by removing one/some and seeing if one goes away. Usually the wires droop down or connect to the very bottom of a post for no reason, so those are good indicators. But, nuking the power.dat and rewiring has worked in 100% of cases. The_Great_Sephiroth
Due to how wiring is implemented we literally MUST go through blocks to get power from solar panels outside to battery banks inside, and then from battery banks inside to traps and fences outside again. We need internal wiring (look at Structures Plus for Ark) if this is what it causes. We have no electric fence wires running through anything but air, and none of my fence wires or normal wires cross each other in any way. There are 18 fence-posts on each side of my base, for a total of 72 fence-posts. Again, non cross in any way. The only thing we have is the wire from the solar panels going through the blocks to get to batteries, and then from those batteries through other blocks to get to the outside stuff. Jugginator
Ah yeah crossing and going through non cube blocks isnt a guarantee but it's just been a common sighting when it happens. Anything deeper is hidden deep in the code but that will all get addressed. My easiest reproduction of those netted from about... 120 give or take in a tiny 2-way funnel, so maybe try culling some. But normally it doesnt happen frequently, but it does happen upon how the wiring gets called from whatever array they're stored in upon chunk load. The_Great_Sephiroth
Yeah, the 72 enclose a 71x71 base. Nowhere near each other. I'll make a video and share this evening or tomorrow.
The_Great_Sephiroth
OK, here are the pictures of my base. I can do a video if needed. No criss-crossing anywhere.
