Dedicated Server won't start anymore

Hi,

 

since 04:23 (??) my Server won't start anymore.

It's a KVM VM with 32G RAM / 8 Cores / Ubuntu 18.04

 

I tried the following:

 

- Restore savegame from a few hours ago -> won't work

- Fresh install with the same user -> won't work

- Fresh install with new user -> won't work

- New/Fresh VM with Ubuntu 19.10 and fresh install -> won't work

 

I got only this not very helpful log from the Server:

I would reboot the server and try again. Looks like something got left open.

 

After installing a new VM with a new OS (Step 4 on my "Agenda") it was unavoidable to do a restart.

But also it was the first i did, but i didn't wrote it, because this should be ever the first step.

I'm sure SylenThunder is talking about the VM-Host server, not the VM-client that is a server for 7D2D

I meant everything really. It's always best not to assume that someone has restarted the machine. Especially when it comes to VM's. You can't just turn a VM off and back on, and count that as a restart. You have to actually restart the OS inside the VM.

 

What else are you running on this machine? How did you set up the server?

He did unavoidable restarts of the client because 1) the initial start of the empty VM counts as a cold boot and 2) Ubuntu (like most other OS's) restarts as part of the install routine.

Can we see the 18.04 output log to compare?

this was the log from the 18.04 Server. I cannot send a log from 19.04 because I've instantly deletet his VM and installed Windows which will work now. But it is not my favorite way because Windows needs 50G only for the system with updated :-)

 

I didn't do anything between working and not working.

 

There where some updates, but more than one day ago and no restart after this and before the server stops working.

Can't run the server on Ubuntu 19. It will only play on Ubuntu 18 LTS. Once Ubuntu 19 goes LTS next year, then it will likely get supported.

as i described, i've tried it with 18.04 LTS also. It works for 2-3 Month and stopped working suddenly.
