In real life ... Steel become from iron and coal... So i Think that game become little bit harder to smelt forged Steel with coal in recipe ... What do you Think about that people

That is true, but at the moment the challenge is in getting access to the recipes to use steel in. Players are concerned at the moment about recipes being 'gated' behind too many requirements already (having materials, having the workbench, finding the recipe, putting points into the right stats/perks).

 

I'm not strongly bothered either way, maybe nitrate could be required for fertilizer again so that coal/nitrate balance remains.

Good idea, endgame stuff should be harder so plus ingredient is a good idea. Also with the new mining system it's really not a big deal to find coal almost inifinite quantities.

While I don't really disagree, I don't see it that useful either. It wouldn't make a difference really.

 

For anyone crafting the two mods they haven't looted yet, the cost would be trivial and you can get the <100 steel easily from a trader etc.

 

For anyone reinforcing their base with steel, they're capable of mass producing ammo at that stage, so it'll just mean a few more minutes in the coal mine, maybe an extra forge to catch up on the smelting speed.

I dunno about that, according to shadiversity steel was the leftover bit after they forged iron and they have had it since the iron age, but in small quantities.
