  2. I've been playing for a week or so on WOTW 5.1.3b B59, and it seemed to be running well. Last night I started getting a console full of errors, rendering the mod unplayable. I thought it may be related to something you had already addressed in the new update, so today I applied the update 5.1.6 B52, but still am having trouble. It seems to be related to an NPC?

    This error keeps repeating. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

    Error can still be from the old version. If it's a npc. There was a few bugs with them at that time.

  3. I am unable to build Tungsten Frames. I have the builder class unlocked and the recipe for tungsten block.

     

    Tungsten frames and iron blocks and such don't exist in the current version. That info is just from A15. Tungsten blocks may make a return in the future.

  4. would it work if we just had an ECO/HD battery bank/Generator that only allowed their type of items like the tools do?

     

    That is what I'm planning but that will be in a content update. Most likely v5.2

    In blocks.Xml search for

     

    <block id="2005" name="batterybank">

    and in there, you will find a line that says:

    <property name="SlotItem" value="carBattery"/>

    Then just change it to say:

    <property name="SlotItem" value="carBattery,HDBattery,ECOBattery"/>

     

    That should do it.

     

    Tried it and it works but several things happen that should not. 1. You can not long shift click the batteries into the slot. You can place other items in like a gascan and it actually increases the power. So for now I will have to not allow the ECO HD Versions. Same thing happens with Generator.

  7. Is there any reasons why my game simply stop rendering when I search anything in the crafting menu or the skill page? It stops for like a second or 2 then return to normal. Was not having this issue on vanilla

     

    It's just craft lag when there is a lot of recipes. Using favorites really will help with this.

  9. right but look at the second statement : <property name="ActionExpBonusMultiplier" value="2" /> that multiplier may have everything to do with it, the stone axe doesnt have it

    I am just spitballing here but its worth checking out

     

    So is gained from the amount of resources gained in a16. So the better tool that gets more resources per block will award more player xp. Those action xp if I'm not mistaken is mainly for leveling the skill. But sense those skills no longer level by player action I believe they may not do much anymore. But that is just from my understanding and i may be wrong. Need to look into this more.

    Hey Dwall, just saw that 5.2 will overhaul the class system, any info about that? xD

     

    Im asking because im making some changes in the classes myself, for my plays with my brother. Im not big fan of classes that give you itens via quest or give things that you could easily just pick with points.

     

    At the moment im doing doing the following:

     

    Draft:

    Builder - Works around construction

    Fighter - Works around melee

    Marksman - Works around ranged guns

    Protection - Works around armor

    Scholar - Works around science

    Survivalist - Works around farming and ranged bows

    Craftsman (Tradesman) - Works around tools

     

    General: (The only way to get Secret Stash is to level class, Base cost to 999 points and requeriment for all barter 1)

    Any Class 1 - Secret Stash 1

    Any Class 2 - Secret Stash 2

    Any Class 3 - Secret Stash 3

    PS: Removed Bartering XP, it will serve only for progressive discounts

    Some good ideas. I haven't started anything with the overhaul so I'm not going to say anything yet. Maybe some new classes will be added. We will see

  10. So I keep noticing this rest system in the list of features but Is it even in the mod.? As it has never worked for me or my friend.

     

    It was in during A15 but hasn't been updated yet as I have put it on the shelf atm until I have time to revisit it. It may come back in v5.2

    Where do I find blackberries?

     

    Only way right now is either finding the berries in loot or the seeds in loot. V5.2 will add them to certain biomes

    I can't upgrade flagstone to cobblestone using the wrench in v5.1.4 or cobblestone to the first cement block. I have enough of cobblestone and cement buckets to be able to do this. The wrench might not work on upgrading other items as well as I haven't tried it yet. I didn't see a fix for the wrench in the patch notes but I will be downloading the new version and checking that as well.

     

    Wrench can only repair now. I did this for several reasons. The big one is the most common thing I see in videos is people accidently upgrading a block when they are just trying to repair the block. So this is a way to do so to prevent wasted resources

    Great mod, enjoying it so far! Awesome job!

    Few bugs that I've found so far:

    • Can't upgrade an empty fire trap block. It saying I have no gas while I have plenty of gas cans in my backpack. And even gas barrels.
    • Confirm what Hicks said - selecting damaged baited fishing rod spams log with nullreference errors. The only thing I managed to do is to equip the thing and drop it.
    • "Tungsten Smithing" requires "Steel Smithing", which is a waste of points if I already unlocked SteelSmithingClass.
    • All crafting areas' GUI is very laggy when trying to drag something. And nearly unusable if I have something crafting in my backpack.

     

    1. Are you using a wrench? If so use a hammer or nailgun.

    2. Interesting. I will look into this. I plan on redoing fishing anyway.

    3. Steel smithing class? Was mainly done for progression sake. But I can revisit it.

    4. Unfortunate effect with lots of recipes. Use favorites to fix this.

  11. Dwalle i *DO* have some questions concerning wording in the class quests rewards. For instance, the Scholar class says it rewards you with 20 science when you complete but it doesnt, it gives you 1 pt. 20 science might be a bit much but you are then supposed to be able to make an object that requires 10 science and if you are like me, you only have 2, kinda impossible. there are other classes where it says it will reward you with 10-20pts but only rewards you with 1pt is this a glitch?

     

    Misleading info from A15. Back then those skills were 100 max level. Now they are max 10. It only rewards 1 via a item reward. V5.2 is going to over haul the class system.

  12. Hi dwallorde. If the fishing is broken because of the water in A16 I suggest removing it. Also the augers are OP. you can level up extremely quickly in a few minutes. I suggest lowering the exp gained. Iv had a few players hit level cap in a few days of playing. Also the zombie reach seems very far, not sure if you aware of that.

  13. thank you for the update Dwalle will keep reporting bugs when i find them, LOVE the mod though... some of the bigger youtube streamers out there are heralding this mod as the best mod they have seen yet. Certainly the best one i have seen

  15. Hi dwallorde. You liking the frequency of birdnests appearing in the game now? I know you reduced them. Man I spent an hour looking for feathers and found only 22 in the forest :( Just my bad luck or maybe you turned them down a bit too far?

  16. dwallorde i ran into one small problem while playing last night, certainly nothing to complain about just a curiousity:

     

    screwing around i managed to die before I made my bedroll (silly i know) and i died somewhere, wehre i couldnt go back to get my backpack, so I went ahead and made the bedroll, it dropped a crate but it didnt give me the tools nor the quest completion for starter crate.

     

    do i need to go and find the original backpack? as i said it really isnt that important, i just kinda want to get the quest completed so it isnt sitting in the things to do list

     

    Ya I would get your backpack. Or just temporarily activate creative mode and take a starter crate from there.

  18. I just tried uploading all the necessary files to my BlueFang dedicated server and it appears as though everything loads, but the UI and the MOD's custom icons will not load. They either show nothing (crafting toolbars and item icons) or a what background with a red x stretched to the space (in the case of all the SMX UI icons).

     

    Any idea why this would be occurring? Did I screw something up in the upload process? The icons appear to be on the server in the appropriate Mods folders.

     

    Custom UI and icons load from client side. Sorry custom UI images.
