  1. Glad you are getting an enhanced experience with mods. We see a future bright with even more mods and ultra-realistic settings available to make the game perfect for almost anyone. Just a couple of things from me: 1) The game launched on kickstarter in summer of 2013 and then on Steam in December of that same year. That means we just reached the 8 year anniversary this past summer and are currently witnessing the 8 year anniversary on Steam. In another year that will be nine and in two more years we will finally reach ten years. I know it sounds more epic to just round things off at 10 and believe me I have no doubt that we will probably be able to advertise the game as "a decade in the making!!!" when the time finally comes but-- unless you were a kickstarter, we are still a year away from 9 years. 2) That is important for my second note in that the length of development doesn't really matter. Some will argue and scoff that the game isn't truly in development any longer but I can assure you that it really is and although they are at the tail end, there is still more that needs to be added to the game before they can call it done. As a game that is still very much in development, they are going to pick their own priorities. That means that menu options that create different play settings are only going to come when they feel the timing is right. I know for a fact that they are keeping the entity population low intentionally until they add bandits and NPCs. Once their cast of entities is complete they will have the full picture of how many zombies they want in the world and what sliders they will add to the main menu to allow users to fine tune those things. The timing is not quite right for that and so the appropriate thing for us to do while we wait is to edit those zombie amounts ourselves for ourselves according to how our own rigs can handle those things. Your settings certainly do sound like a lot of fun and challenge!
  2. Laughing is positive. I forgot that one.
  3. Its the fact that it requires 10 grass. Sleeping bags are thinner than full blocks. Should be reduced to 5 grass!
  4. so just to be clear you were able to convert your Kickstarter key? If not send me a private message.
  5. For whatever reason, I can only accumulate knowledge about farming incrementally from you. Thank you and sheesh!
  6. There are zero negative consequences to a downvote. Reputation can only be gained or stay where it's at. None of the reactions carry a negative reputation penalty. A like, thanks, and Prime Bless You all give positive reputation and the rest are neutral. Those who abuse the system lose credibility with it. Does a Kuosimodo dislike really carry any weight with anyone? joshwa0816 is headed the same way.
  7. lol.. wrong and stupid — Farming debate slimy politician — Blocks debate Well, I WAS wrong about being able to achieve a large scale farm with LOTL 1 given that you wait to start with roughly 10 seeds.
  8. My response to you was not a censure about your temperament but just a literal answer to your musing about how things were happy and excited for a week and now gloomy and angry. There are plenty of people who dislike the change but are taking it in stride and giving measured responses and they are appreciated. Im not asking anyone to remain silent. I’m letting people know that if what they really want is for TFP to change this, there is an effective way to give feedback that some are ignoring.
  9. Thats not what I read about you on the Steam forum every second or third day…haha
  10. I think the other compelling feedback that I’ve read is the testing that was done by some to see if zombies still did 6x damage vs poles. This was good information to bring up just in case TFP hadn’t considered it. Hopefully, it wasn’t just buried in all of the less helpful emotional posts…
  11. Thats because all of the angry ranting users treat the experimental branch as a stable finished product instead of what it actually is. Occasionally we’ve had folks say that TFP should just regularly update the latest_experimental as they develop so that people can witness all the designs steps and changes as they occur. That would be madness. Too many people just don’t have the patience and temperament for changes. There were so many changes like this one implemented and then reverted or fine tuned over the past year and a half that the QA team tested and dealt with that if some of you had experienced would have resulted in weekly forum blood moons. when a change happens the QA team does not rant based on the change log and what they suspect will be the result. They test and give evidence in data, screenshots, and video. They don’t immediately revert those changes and play it how they want. They experiment with it and report their results. I see a lot of hypotheticals based on worry and fear and not a lot of evidence to back up whether your base designs are actually no longer viable. I watched one video that was provided of Kage and it seemed like he coped just fine. Despite the assumption that TFP changes things due to complaints, I can assure you that they change things due to compelling evidential feedback. Interestingly, the evidential feedback being given presently is a very compelling argument to nerf bars to match the plates and pole HP. Red’s screenshots show a very clear picture and the several posts stating that bars can be placed back to back for 2x HP just like plates is a powerful point that I’m sure the devs will consider if bars actually were an oversight.
  12. Could also be that a newly crafted or purchased sledge will be fine and it is only existing sledges that are borked.
  13. Oh hey! Update! Open TFP server! In the first release. Then, just when people love it.... balsa
  14. Wood and Plastic should be switched. Otherwise you are lying about realism.
  15. Right so start a new game and cheat in a sledge and run a quick test on that fresh game. If it targets just fine then you know and can decide whether or not to restart. If it doesn't then put in a bug report for it. Should be another update coming probably next week and maybe it will fix them.
  16. You can accurately get smug out of text? Bach was saying that 10 complainers got a change they wanted. I was letting him know that at least in this case that wasn't so. I just gave the true account, man. I'm sorry if that disillusions you. The devs definitely listen to complaints. They know all about this initial reaction to the block change. They also have their plans. In the case of LOTL 2 they knew that it needed to be buffed and the steps needed to smoothed out. I'm sure there have been balancing changes completely due to user complaints even if this particular case wasn't one of them. Even if everyone would have been gleeful about the farming change, LOTL 2 was going to get changed. But you needn't suppose that just because I set the record straight about this case that I'm somehow making a sweeping statement that the devs never listen to community feedback. That is just crazy.
  17. I, myself, am not going to do anything of the sort ever. The programmers may do it after the designers get the feedback they are looking for-- which happens to be actual gameplay experience and usecases after a period of time. You saying that they will rip everything to shreds in seconds is not going to be compelling feedback for them to make any change. Them watching bases get assaulted will let them determine whether they went too far or not. They are fully aware of the logic of making building cost match HP. They will make a decision about that, I have no doubt. Please, be assured that your message has been delivered. Now there is nothing more to do but wait and see what happens next.
  18. TFP determined that sledges were too OP against zombies so they have been changed to only target chickens. We really hated the fact that players were enjoying sledges so much and using them so effectively. (test them in a fresh game. Could be they are glitched if you continued from the last build. if they still don't target anything post it as a bug.)
  19. I watched the Kage video. It wasn't ripped out in seconds. The actual evidence is against your wild claims. I really doubt you would be satisfied. You simply don't want poles and plates to be less HP end of story. If the next update comes with adjusted building costs and greater HP for the multishapes, I really don't think you will be celebrating. Again, you are playing an experimental build. There is no reason to believe the current state is final. What we need is more feedback like what we saw in the Kage video. Show the developers how impossible it is now to have a base the way you like it. Test the change. It is what experimental is for. What experimental is not for is assuming that every single changelog represents the game in its final intended form. The devs aren't going to rush to explain every tiny change they do. They kind of expect that if someone opts in to experimental then they understand that changes are part of the experience. Come on...that was a joke. If you can't take a joke about the change then you are too emotionally involved with it. Take a break. There is no evidence this is the end of it. We are still in experimental. It would be nice to hear people ask questions rather than make assumed accusations and rants.
  20. There have been some measured responses and good feedback given. But there has also been wailing. You are wailing. You probably need to take a break until experimental is over since you seem not to have the temperament for it. This voluntary beta is for those who are willing to test changes and give things a fair shake and not rant or make overly dramatic sweeping and untrue statements about TFP competing against players and how they build. I can promise you that there was not one single conversation about "we gotta stop these guys from building in the way that they love to build muwahahahahahahaaaa!" No mustaches were twirled or capes flourished or damsels tied to railroad tracks. What even makes you think that the current state is the final state? The reason we don't say that people should play a certain way is because we don't believe that. You are making wild accusations and assuming the worst possible motives which tells me you're a bit emotionally compromised about this change. How about you opt out of the beta and go back to A19 until we get to about A20.4 which will be the golden age of A20 that when some future player hates a change in A21 will say, remember when things were great back in A20.4?
  21. Well here’s the answer to all of you who are fine with the HP reduction but angry for the cost. Just earmark all the free blocks you get as poles and plates and your problem is solved.
  22. I guess. Blocks are so cheap now in general. I’m understanding of disappointment over the change. Just a bit disbelieving of the phrase “TFP has made my base impossible!”
  23. lol...That change to LOTL 2 was planned even before experimental dropped but there was not time to implement it. It was not added because of some complaining. It was added to the very first patch that was available after experimental released. Nice try though. So now there is a bigger chance that they will break through but has anyone tested it on a horde night? Did they die? Did they have to alternate between melee and repair? I just wonder exactly how bad it is now. If zombies never had even a chance of breaking through before but now there is a chance but it can still be managed by effective horde night management-- it might turn out to be a more thrilling affair. Or it may turn out to be a disaster. Are there any videos that can be linked? I'd like to see a horde night where the zombies possibly break through where before they never ever did. I get the upset over the poles for melee defense on horde night. How do the plates destroy your building plans exactly? What were you using them for where 10000 hp were a must and 5000 hp are game killing?
  24. I think we should experiment a bit before declaring bases impossible. We have heard that wail of despair after almost every alpha release and within a month people are building bases that are impervious to zombies. People were building bases that NEVER got breached before and now people are worried that with the lower HP on certain blocks their bases might get breached. But I bet creative people will figure things out. Maybe all horde bases will be blocky and gross at first but then some people will start innovating and before long the shapes will be used and bases will be sexy and they will withstand the onslaught and everyone who said TFP just made things impossible again will feel foolish.
