  1. So I returned to 7 days to die when I saw the alpha 17 popping up. Got excited at first but after playing it I found it simple and shallow. True Survival mod is essential to make 7 days to die alpha 17 great! I really hope the work on it goes
  2. Regarding perks and skills I would very much like to see a progression system similar to the one in "Undead Legacy" mod: leveing up tool quality requires skill points and levels instead of hours of grind, so you could grind less and actually play the game more. (who likes crafting tens and tens of plant fiber hats for hours anyway?)
  3. Hello there guys! I've got an off-topic question: How to disable followers spawning? I understand I have to remove a few lines in a certain xml file. Could anyone please spend a minute and tell me which file to edit and which lines to remove? Edit: their random shots always jumpscare me
  4. Found the xml you mentioned. Have no clue what I should edit. Too many variables for an untrained eye. Some more info maybe, please?
  5. Continuing to enjoy this mod! Want to point out the excellent skills system, well thought crafting, and extremely diverse loot! I applaud the great work. And I've got a question to ask: Is there a way to change the amount of zombie spawns? Not only on horde nights but the overall amounts, like more zombies in wandering hordes, more zombies everywhere (except sleepers)! I understand it requires some changes made to xml files, but I'm worried I can accidentally corrupt something. Can anyone help me? I would greatly appreciate it!
  6. Downloaded this mod a few days ago and I am excited with the skills system or how you don't have to grind for better quality tools. I've got a question: Is it possible to mod weapons? Like add a scope to the hunting rifle and so on.
  7. Thanks for the clarification. It seems that "wasteland" I was in is a wrong one. I told it was a wasteland with a wild mix of snow and irradiated minibiomes. Have to find another one it seems. Also, what does it require to unlock oil, gun oil and biofuel recipes in the oil refinery? I'm lvl 148 and have everything in the skills menu unlocked, and have also just looted a HUGE "crack a book" building filled with about 100 book crates, so these recipes are not found anywhere, I'm sure. Edit: Ok, oil and biofuel and a couple of other recipes are unlocked by the "chemist" profession. But what about the gun oil? Edit2: Found it! The cop profession.
  8. Thanks for the info, will try digging in the wasteland) But still, where can I find surface nitrate?
  9. So, I spent about 4 hours wandering the wasteland biome. Got a weird mix of snow, irradiated and wasteland all in one biome. Couldn't find any surface nitrate. Any tips on finding nitrate? This one seems harder to obtain than steel. Edit: haven't found any underground biome-specific ores, besides gravel veins, however I was mining in the forest. Is it worth to try in wasteland?
  10. Yeah, my first base quickly started to look like Stalingrad, after it was bombed. Had to abandon it - the zombies started to dig under my base. What I did in my next base, I made the cobblestone floor - they still destroy it, but it helps a lot. Edit: By the way, has anyone found a legit way to get 50 at gunsmithing skill to unlock casings and tips? I don't really want to waste thousands of gunpowder on blunderbuss ammo. Is there anything else you can craft to raise that skill?
  11. So you're stuck on the loading screen when it says "loading players"? I've got this problem too, but I found a way to fix it, go to options, find your profile, select "edit" and change the beard for example. Helps me every time. Hope this'll help you too!
  12. Thanks, I'll try them out. Didn't notice them dropping "regular" bats, however. Only good night and TPX. And with such drop rates lvling up the shockstick is going to take ages.
  13. Where can I get some bats? Yeah, regular bats. To craft shockstick specifically. The only one I got was when I unlocked fitness instructor profession. Bats seem to be used in several recipes, but are impossible to craft, which means they should be pretty common, yet I have not found even one. - - - Updated - - - Boots, honeycombs and trash piles seem to be like a rare drop from trees. I get these items regularly
  14. Haven't unlocked the iron building yet, but from just looking at the frames I couldn't find iron catwalks... In vanilla, you could get iron catwalks by upgrading wood ones with iron. With True Survival upgrading the catwalk makes it a full iron reinforced plank block, which is weird af. Meh, got to rebuild my base it seems... Also, any ideas where I can find sledgehammer/wrench/welder(the tool for steel, not sure if I spelled it correctly)? Looted 3 towns clean and didn't find any(
  15. I have found it impossible to get iron catwalks. When you upgrade wood catwalk with iron it becomes a plank block reinforced with iron. Is there a way to get iron catwalks without cheating? Or maybe edit something in the game files to make wood catwalks upgrade to iron?
  16. Thank you, didn't expect anyone to answer! Do you know what lines should I remove to prevent them from spawning without breaking anything? I've found <!-- JZMOD FOLLOWERS --> under line 2318 but couldn't find anything to prevent them from spawning...
  17. Is there a way to remove follower NPCs from the game? Disable them somehow, edit a file or something. They are extremely annoying
  18. Can't use cobblestone and brick frame ramps. Just selecting them on the toolbelt makes the console give an error. "no texture". Wood frame ramps work well though. Is this a common issue?
  19. Hello guys, I hope there's still someone around. I get a graphical issue after enabling glcore renderer in the game launcher. Several plants from the mod turn purple as if they do not have a texture. Palms and wheat, for example. Here are the images: https://imgur.com/a/Tgrn1 Edit: Is there any solution to this problem? GLcore renderer gives me incredible performance boost, while if it is not active the game hardly runs. Changing graphic options doesn't help at all.
  20. Why is everybody so concerned with the "right" mouse feature? Is there any reason to not like it (besides animation freking out, of course)? It is too OP for digging you say? Well, it let's you dig faster than with shovel only if you're using stone tools. Speaking of iron/steel tools, you'd want to use shovel over pickaxe for digging sand/snow/whatever anyway. Faster to dig with it if you have zero stamina? One full stamina hit is actually better than left&right mouse combo with zero stamina, and it conserves your tool's durability pool (which is important, I'd say). And why would you want to mine something with zero stamina? Well, that's the other story... "Right" mouse feature let's you actually defend yourself with mining tools - quite a useful thing if you ask me. Virtually infinite capabilities with combo strikes in close combat! Smashing zombies feels so much smoother with the "right" mouse feature, if you can manage your stamina right, of course:3 If you can't - you're grabbed, bitten and dead - see, Balance! edit: Though, it is easily exploitable if you have a batch of red bull/coffee))
  21. @Spider- Well, gold/silver/diamonds are mostly useless ores, aren't they? Just for sale. I, personally, consider lead ore useless as well, cause you can easily scavenge more lead, than you'll ever need. Also, what about oil shale? You did not mention it. Anyway, here's my suggestion: Desert: near surface iron + maybe oil shale with occasional diamonds? Plains: silver and lead? "Galena!" Pretty much useless to mine in the plains then, but I can't think of something more suitable and unique ) Forest: surface coal (after all, it is a biome for begginers), deep lead (to not make it overpowering) Pine forest: near surface iron, deep lead Burnt forest: near surface coal and deep iron? Snow/snow pine forest: near surface gold and nitrate powder lower. Wasteland: near surface nitrate and iron deeper. (cool biomes with cool ores!)
  22. That's actually a good suggestion. Maybe add sewer systems and mining shafts too? I know this is a lot of work to do, but these prefabs would be awesome to explore)
  23. @unlike them- Thanks for the answer! And now that I know where to look the looting festival shall begin! edit: @Estygo, lol, the best way to harvest those is just walking over them)
  24. @Spider- So, regarding the "stuffed' buff issue - everything works fine by now, I did not get it again. However, this data may be rather uncertain - I did not have a crap ton of time to playtest it, but I belive in the fix you've done, Spider) And now the question to everyone! I'm pretty far in the tech tree right now, but there's the one thing slowing me down - metal workbench. All the materials needed for it are not that hard to get, except "hubcaps" (you need them for the steam generator). From what I have seen you can not craft them (only hubcap mines) and I did not happen to find any throughout my scavenging sessions (tons of hubcap mines though). Disassembling cars doesn't yield hubcaps too. So, my question is: Anyone knows where to get them? @Loxodrome- Zombies are not that hard to kill at all. From my experience I can say they are extremely hard to kill if you hit the body, but headshots do the work easily. 600 quality bow, 2 regular arrows to the head - dead. Same with spiked club. For the begging of the game though, the best strategy is to avoid zombies (which may be hard with insane first day spawns). I survived the 7th day horde by just hiding in a reinforced concrete building. If you'll look hard enough you'll find tons of bunkers, reinforced rooms or entire buildings made of concrete - lots of OP prefabs exist to hide in.
  25. K, I'll let you know. It seems, overstuffed takes some time to accumulate before it appears. Yes, I do know you get a wondrous speed buff on roads. Hard to not notice it))
