[RELEASE]---Terrain and Texture "Reduction" Mods

---INFO--- Their are 2 different mods included in the download and a "merged" version of the 2. Descriptions are as follows. 1. "Terrain Only" -- This is the "Terrain Reduction Only Mod" -- The amount of Trees, Grass, Rocks, Bushes, and Shrubs that generate are reduced largely, this reduces a bit of lag on lower-end systems, particularly in forest and plains, but even in deserts. 2. "Textures Only" -- This is the "Terrain Texture Size Reductions Only Mod" -- This reduces all "Terrain Textures", those being "Stone, Dirt, Sand, Gravel, Ashpalt, Grass(Not Tall Grass But The Block), and quite a few other blocks from an average of 1024x1024 DXT5 to 256x256 DXT1, this reduces the size greatly from 1.3Mb per texture to 43Kb per texture for a total of 50Mb's removed from the resources.assets file, this may not seem like much at first, but when a texture is loaded a hundred to a thousand times per screen, then 1Mb is a pretty significant difference. As for the quality reduction, the ground up close is a bit less pretty, but for the most part you can't even tell the difference from a distance. 3. "Both" -- This is Both of the previous two "mods" combined. ---Installation Info--- -Tools Required- 1. For "Textures Only" or "Both" you will require PatchOnClick from http://www.2brightsparks.com/assets/software/PatchOnClick_Setup.exe 2. For "Terrain Only" you will need Grim's Unity Asset Editor, check his post in the Modding section. The "Textures Only" and "Both" folders in the .rar file contain ".poc" files which are PatchOnClick patch files, to be used with PatchOnClick, installation instructions are included in the appropriate folders in the download. --Errors-- I've tested the "patches" multiple times with success, but if any problem occurs please post you "resources.assets" information here as stated in the Install Instructions.txt Also if any "black textures" are found please report the block name, i'm pretty sure i fixed them all, but i may have missed one. --Possible Future Updates-- I haven't touched "Wasteland" biomes yet, so they are still a bit laggy for me, i will probably remove a lot of the stuff in their also to go along with the rest of the world now. Please post any suggestions of what you would like to see done. --Screenshots--- I took the screenshots in the same area with the FPS counter on so you can see the difference. As you can see in the screenshots without the mod, in the area im in i get an average of 5 Fps, with the texture reduction only it gets more towards 6-7, but with both it's up to 10-11 in that area. It's still not as high as i'd like but it's a nice boost, also i had some programs running on my comp at the time i took them, if i closed everything else on my comp i would have gotten a few more fps, closer to 12-13 average while playing which is much more playable than 5. Their are still plenty of trees and grass to obtain for resources, but their a lot rarer, so you may actually have to go looking for wood and grass now instead of just finding it anywhere. -Vanilla--No Mods- -Texture Reduction Mod Only- -Both Texture Reduction Mod and Terrain Reduction Mod- ***Download Links*** You can use either link but i'd definitely appreciate if you used the adfly one =p. Nicholas96 What problem are you having, in the .zip you download their are 3 "Versions" to choose from, two of them are "patches" and the other is just a single file that you replace the original with Unity Asset Editor, the patches on the other hand require the program listed in the Install Instructions.txt, "patching" the resources.assets is very simple with that program, as said in the instructions all you do is click, "Patch a file", choose the resources.assets as the file to patch, choose the patch in the download as the patch to use and it'll do the rest

I tried to install the "textures only" option, received this error: "Failed to create new file: The source may have been changed since the patch file was created, or the patch file is corrupted. (,18)" It still creates a new file but its' size is 1,242,112 KB instead of the 1,242,145 KB mentioned in the readme. Tried launching anyways but wouldn't allow me to load into a game. I also tried redownloading the patch file, but that didn't help.
Hello i have problem but inside the game. When i load or start new game i see this: Please help
If this error isn't related to this mod, create a thread here containing the output_log.txt inside your '7 Days To Die\7DaysToDie_Data' folder right after that error occurs.

Hi, Any news to update this mod for the last version 9.3 ? I have try to replace the rock texture in the ressources.assets 256x256 (diffuse & normal) in .dds, and repack, it's working, but rock in the game are black, I supose that I need to change the resolution of the texture in a file ? If you can provide the path or instruction to help, it s will help me :) Thanks,

The texture being black is the result of the file header not being changed by UAE, im not sure if the new "beta" versions fix this but regardless this mod won't really be possible now since the vast majority of the block textures are stored in a new "atlas" file that we currently don't know how to edit =/
