@Hal You change how bbb ip works at all? Got some weird errors on my server, also the up-arrow (last command) no longer works. When I can duplicate I'll send you more details, but for now I just wanted to know if anything had changed. This is from the server, but I don't see anything weird. The client got an NRE and I had to alt-f4 out, and it didn't write a log. Hey Gup, The next version has changes to IP but the one that you're running on is the same as 15.0. Did Stompy say what the NRE was on his side? If it happens again just have a look in the log at the NRE, that should point to where the problem is coming from. Cheers, Hal

Hello All, i have some small Problems with the Editor. I have setup a clean Server Vanilla after that i uploaded all Files from the Editor to the Serverfiles in the Managed Folder. I figured otu how to copy a layer, how do i paste it into a new layer? I accidently overwrite a layer I needed, I need to make the room one block taller. or rather, its missing a floor. so How would i copy the 5th layer, add a new layer at 5, and paste the 5th layer back in so there is room for it?
The nre was on mine too, at the same time. Very odd. But I'll try to duplicate; the server was running high on memory too at the time. If you made no changes to that section then it's likely not bbb.
Hopefully just a random error then but if it happens again post the log and I'll have a look Gup
I figured otu how to copy a layer, how do i paste it into a new layer? So Prefab->Add Layer -> 5 then copy layer 6 (or whichever) then on layer 5 right click the top left block and it'll paste in. Cheers, Hal

Yeh, if you want to add a layer on top, add it at +1 to whatever the highest layer is, and if you want one at the very bottom, at layer 0. So if you have five layers and need say, 8 (3 on top), you would add multiple layers on layer 6, even though it doesn't exist yet.

I did figure out how to copy it, add layers, etc . . . but paste wasnt so clear.

Tornadofy and I are trying to install Hal's prefab on his computer so he can spawn the spiffy POI I edited for him. for some reason his 7dtd keeps getting at building environment. He says he followed the instructions, renamed his .dll file, moved hals .dll over, copied all of the prefab to a new folder. then he ran (installed)the editor. Now he cant get into 7dtd. I'm trying to troubleshoot it with him.

There's options through Steam or there's a button on the main form to start 7DTD without EAC

Thats the first thing I asked, not EAC is definitely turned off, he had to in order to help edit his prefab on my p2p map. It gets stuck at the screen that says "Building" during login. He has waited up to 15 minutes .I remember it got stuck the first time for me and I rebooted and it worked. he has already rebooted between 5 am and now. Note: still cant paste a copied layer.

The editor does cause that building screen to appear for longer than vanilla but 15 minutes should be plenty unless he's on a toaster. And he's definitely running 15.1 with the latest version of the editor DLL? Copy/Paste Example

We decided to let it continue to build the map while he takes a lunch break. ok thanks, I got it to work. I think i was holding down left shift key out of habit. LOL

Tornadofy95 can jump into my p2p worlds and my rgen server and Guppy's server, but he cannot build new worlds/ This has been since he installed hals editor. we even uninstalled the game and hals prefab and tried o build a world.. no dice. Yet we cleaned cookies, cache, and registry while we were at it. The forum has been inaccessible most of the day for both of us. he finally gave up and said we will look at it tonight.. I've been starign at this editor all day, almost done with my deadly castle. But i have to run errands with my hubby for a bit. i feel bad, all Tornadofy wants to do is go enjoy his new prefab base. thnak you for all of your help! @guppy yeah, I'm looking forward to it, I soo want to create a massively hard map, generate all my own prefabs, dungeons, mazes, and deck it out with as many cool mods as possible. basically an anything goes server. and if i could make a section for PVP, so much the better.

Have him connect to the game and try and start a world. Leave it a few minutes and then look in the log file (%7DTD%\7DaysToDie_Data\output_log.txt). Copy the log file here so we can see it. Also have a look at the HalGlobal.txt file in the main 7DTD directory (the same one that has the 7DaysToDie.exe file). If that file is missing then the editor isn't installed or it doesn't have permission to write to that folder.
