STEAM

I recently got back to playing but haven't been able to as I'm just stuck in the loading screen when you start the game. I've searched for the past 2 weeks with no solutions.

Image of where I get stuck: https://prnt.sc/K2XLfhPDAtdK (wasn't able to use the attachment)

I've tried the following things:

  • Restarted PC
  • Verified integrity of game files
  • Reinstalled game
  • Reinstalled windows
  • Updated graphics drivers
  • Reinstalled graphics drivers
  • Turned off any overclocking
  • Uninstalling all mods that was previously installed
  • Reinstalling the game onto an older version of the game (A19.6) from the current version (A20.6)
  • Only having 1 stick of RAM inserted
  • Downloaded the game onto a different drive
  • Deleted all 7d2d files in %appdata%
  • Deleted all files in %temp%
  • Disabled vsync
  • Disabled EAC
  • Reinstalling steam
  • Disabled any anti-virus installed
  • Disabled windows firewall
  • And probably more

My specs:

  • OS: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (version 22H2)
  • Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x 3.7@GHz
  • GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC 10GB
  • RAM: 2x 16GB G.Skill Aegis 3000MHz CL16
  • Storage: WD Blue SN550 NVME 2TB
  • Other Storage: Seagate BarraCuda ST1000DM003-1ER162 1TB

Your output log would be helpful. You can try cleaning your game from the Launcher/Tools menu.

I've tried to find them but haven't been able to do so
It's not in the folder it should be in (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\7DaysToDie_Data)

Logs are in %appdata%\7DaystoDie\Logs

so.. after finally finding it (thank you) I've been messing around with it as it's 9MB and pastebin's max limit is 528KB or something

edit:

I found out that 50k+ lines was the exact same output which was the following:
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
  at XUi_FallThrough.Update () [0x00121] in <ffc99a688d2b435db53bb46aed82ca49>:0

I deleted I believe 58k+ lines with just that output and got it to work on pastebin https://pastebin.com/sGH1M8yu

You have mod conflicts. I don't know which ones, but this is the bad variable: ArgumentException: An item with the

same key has already been added. Key: Custom Perks - Prestige Skills

And you are using two different mod folders. You should just use one.

Use this folder for mods: C:\Users\Mathias\AppData\Roaming/7DaysToDie/Mods

And delete this folder: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/7 Days To Die/7DaysToDie_Data/../Mods

and any other mods folders you may have lying about.

Thank you!
It finally works now, the funny part was that all I did was delete the "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/7 Days To Die/7DaysToDie_Data/../Mods" and moved those files to "C:\Users\Mathias\AppData\Roaming/7DaysToDie/Mods"

So apparently the mod ("Custom Perks - Prestige Skills") wasn't actually downloaded which I already knew from the start
