Bad performance in a proxmox VE Linux dedicated

Recommended Posts

I've installed 7d2d dedicated in a VM with 8 core that are as host cpu, 32 Gb RAM

The server is never going above 25% cpu usage i feel like it doesn't want to use all the thread available.

VM distro Ubuntu server 20.04 LTS

proxmox host :

CPU : XEON E5 2697v2 X2 2.7Ghz

Ram : 128 Gb (atm more on the way)

Raid: 1+0 of 8 SSD (sata)1Tb

server itself is a HPE ML 350p Gen8

to add my server as about 10 player in it and as 20 slot for now.

console show the server never dropping below 27fps. but many of my player complain about lag and client crashes.

also i'm pretty sure it's not network related since the VM as it's own dedicated NIC, also i do have 1/1 Gbps internet at home.

Try that again. Except this time use Pastebin like you're instructed to. And put the whole log up.

I don't know how big a factor this is but your 14k world exceeds the current supported limit. Even is the server hardware is capable of handling it, there's extra strain on every client as well. If any of your clients are connecting with lower spec machines, they will have issues.

Since it's a vm, as a test I would spin up another one with a 6K world and have players who have complained of problems test that. If that works ok, it may be the world size that is the issue.

Wrong hash on Data/Config/buffs.xml

Made some edits?

Aside from that, I'm not seeing any issues. Server FPS is about where it should be. Not seeing a bottleneck, and not seeing any issues.

since the roll back on the buffs.xml server seems to run just fine. there is some peack lack now and then but might be because of the sheer size of the world.

my player  don't seem to complain as much.
