phlargh
Whenever I try to connect to a server (either on LAN or not) after about a minute I get disconnected with. "Steam kicked you: Your authentication has become invalid. Maybe your Steam client lost connection to the network." I've searched online and tried all the suggested solutions I can find and none of them work. I've completely removed steam and the game. Reinstalled both. Reinstalled steamworks. Updated my video drivers. I've never had issues with playing the game before. Here are what the logs are saying. SylenThunder
7 hours ago, phlargh said: Intel Core i7 @ 2.60GHz This is what happens when you just copy-paste from the overview. There is no indication of which i7 model it is. Based on the coffee lake build, the closest is the 8700T, the 8750H, or the 8850H. Based on the UHD Graphics 630 it's going to be one of the latter two, which means you're on a laptop. The CPU speed doesn't match any of those chipsets though. This is why we ask for the whole log, and for the full published Speccy report. Just be aware, that you're running pretty close to low-end on the CPU, and that your power options will put it below the minimum required specs to play the game. At a guess, you're using Wifi. Which is unreliable. It's also possible that you didn't exclude the client from security software, or you have a DNS issue. I cover all of this in detail in the Sticky FAQ thread. phlargh
ASUS ROG Strix III Hero Gaming Notebook 17.3'' FHD Intel Core i7-9750H RTX 2060, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD Win 10 Home, G731GV-DB74. There's nothing 'low end' about the system. Running on wired LAN, only windows firewall running. I just changed from window 10 home to windows 10 pro and now it seems to be working. Kind of a stupid way to fix it but it seems to have worked. I would much rather have known WHY is wasn't working though. I play all my games on my 49' ultrawide display (3840x1080) using this hardware and nothing else has ever given me any problems. Thanks for the feedback though. Liesel Weppen
Where is your server running? On the same machine? Different machine in your LAN? Did you try other server from the internet? Looks for me like you are searching on the wrong end. According to your log: 020-06-28T10:35:07 342.757 INF [Steamworks.NET] Authentication callback. ID: 76561198105070805, owner: 76561198105070805, result: k_EAuthSessionResponseAuthTicketCanceled 2020-06-28T10:35:07 342.757 INF [Steamworks.NET] Kick player for invalid login: 76561198105070805 phlargh 2020-06-28T10:35:07 342.758 INF Kicking player (Steam auth failed: k_EAuthSessionResponseAuthTicketCanceled): EntityID=171, PlayerID='76561198105070805', OwnerID='76561198105070805', PlayerName='phlargh' The SERVER is that one who can't steam auth your player Id and therefore kicks your player actively. It is not your client that loses connection! Make sure your SERVER can connect to steam to auth players.
phlargh
Thanks, I "got" it working by upgrading my OS version to pro. Before that I couldn't connect to ANY server either on my LAN or on the web. Single player worked fine. It works on all servers now. I just wish I had a real solution to post here for anyone else that has the issue.
Liesel Weppen
Would be still interesting if the server is running on the same machine or a different one. Upgrading to Pro for sure didn't solve the problem itself. It might have fixed some other issue that was broken before.
