    Speaking of Rekt's attitude, I JUST found out that each trader has an XML configuration concerning their "niceness".   While I have not yet, I plan to monkey with that via a mod and see if I can get dialog lines from Rekt being "nice" and Jen being the @%$#.   Hopefully, there is speech already packaged up for each voice that will just work, you know for science.

    And it very well may be less prevalent, but I see it this way because of what I watch.  People tend to watch and want to watch things that reinforce their own experiences, beliefs, and morality vs expanding their horizons.  I can say I am guilty of this and frankly every one is.   However, this might be getting way to "meta" a conversation so after this, I'm out of this conversation.

    Then you are watching the wrong(or, perhaps more RIGHT for YOU) female streamers.    I know at least a half dozen female streamers who I would not consider overly sexualized themselves(by this meaning they don't wear suggest and/or low cut outfits while streaming).   If you were to take a picture of these people while streaming and show to a few hundred people, few to none would really say  "yes, these people are using their bodily assets to get views on their channels".  And yet these females are frequently discussing sexualized topics, including Jen's boobs as part of their stream content.   

    The fact is there are people who are DIFFERENT from each other.  Some people talk about sexual topics because they are comfortable with their and other peoples bodies.   Other people don't because they are not comfortable doing so.  Still others simply don't do it because they want to appear family friendly in their content(and YOU might consider calling them hypocrites)

     

    This is the same as people who curse,  Some just don't curse pretty much EVER, some curse frequently, a few can't NOT curse, and some refrain when around certain people(such as their boss, parents, etc).    


    Bottom line, if someone's content bothers you enough, stop watching them.  If not, then its really not THAT important to you is it?  If you have constructive criticisms, address them respectfully and if they say @%$# off you have a choice of continuing to support them or not.   However, don't get into a freaking debate with anyone who does not want to change unless YOU are willing to be open to YOUR position changing.  Otherwise, you are the SJW

    To the best of my knowledge, you can't.   As far as I have "heard", no one at the fun pimps has made a definitive statement on this.    As you said, generate it on your machine and upload to the server.

    If you wanna, go for it.  Im sure some people will read it, but honestly I find people tend to just not read stuff.   I would wish that the fun pimps would edit the "start new world" screen to make it easier and EITHER a) put a play button on the advanced generation screen, OR b) automatically select(but not load and start!) the generated world when you click "Back" from the advanced g4eneration screen

    at various times on my hotbar, depending on level and what I am working on I will have a axe of some sort, a knife or some sort, typically a sledge hammer but sometimes a club, a shovel all of which I have used for melee if I don't feel like swapping to kill that one or two zombies I am facing at that point in time when I was using said item for something else.     Though it's slow as crap, the shovel makes an excellent decapitator weapon once you get a decent steel one unless you are facing high HP rads.   

     

    I then also typically carry some machine gun variant(AK or TAC, very RARELY an M60), some type of shotty(upgrading as I go) and I tend to also want to have a magnum or Desert Vulture(because I am typically also the trader in our group and the book for barter bonus!)  

    I also tend to have some type of bow or cross bow on me UNTIL I can get a silencer AND the book set to remove the silencer damage debuff completed.   I don't spend an inordinate amount of time sneaking, but I will sneak some through a POI to get one shot arrow/bolt kills unless I get fairly deep into the game(generally 50+ levels)

     

    I guess I should also point out I tend to play MP on slightly higher than default difficultly settings(ie, NOT insane/nightmare some people prefer).  I also tend to use melee to solve MOST of my problems outside of animals and overwhelming situations as a feel guns draw too much attention for little to no gain and I am super stingy with my ammo usage.    I don't mind it taking me an extra 60 seconds to kill 5 zombies using a sledge hammer vs doing it 15 seconds with loads of noise 30 bullets/6-10 shells.

     

    Along with that, I think for people one default settings or close, it's completely useless to drop points into any weapon skill(especially guns of any type) just to get a slightly faster reload.

    Not offended( I just sound that way all the time, sorry), just wondering why you think someone else might have anywhere near as strict requirements as you do and those are strict.    While I could be wrong, I just don't think anyone is going to spend any time making perfect flat worlds for themselves, much less to share so you are likely going to be waiting for a very long time or you have to end up doing it yourself.  Since you pointed out you tried a few(not sure if that means 5 or 50 to you) and did not like the ones you got before you gave up that is especially more evidence that fewer people would do in bulk to meet your requirements.

    We prefer to use the 7D2D modlauncher as it does everything you dont have to know how to do stuff like change spawns as you mentionned, it is straight forward and that is just what we need, not to spend hours on tutorials on how to do this and that, just play the game :) 

     

     

     

    I have over 80 seeds that were generated with the same settings and filtered to high quality maps.   Take a look and find one you like the look of.   As I said, the spawn points are easy to edit if you want to spawn near a specific place OR ensure you spawn at one of the specific pre-made spawn points.   If you can determine an x/y coordinate from 7th grade geomotry then editing the spawn points is exceedingly simple.   If you nd your friends can't determine cannot determine x/y coordinates(and thats ok, some people are really @%$#ty with spatial geometry) and you cant edit a picture and draw a big red X, I can tell you how to do so in 5 lines of instructions, it's nothing complicated.

    They are not lame.    What is "Crack a Book Headquarters" in Portuguese?  Japanese?  German?  Well(meaning correctly) written software internally uses "codes" such as skyscraper_01 and then LATER localizes that value for each different language, something that is far more likely to be done once ALL of the various POI's are added(which I believe there more that will likely be added in the next release or two of A20, and possibly some in A21, though I hope they are all done).   

     

    For the record: 

    skyscraper_01 = Dishong Tower

    Skyscraper_02 = Crack a Book

    Skyscraper_03= Higashi Tower

    Skyscraper_04= Joe Brothers Builders

     

    and for the record, you can open DM mod and use the POI teleporter, enter the code to filter, and LOOK at the POI if it's in the world you want.   You can also do the ummm Editing Tools->Level/Prefab Editor or World Editor to do similar things.

    No offense, but if YOU gave up on making maps with no features, why would you think anyone else would want to stick to that?      

    If you only goal is to test the loot system per biome stuff, there are plenty of maps that let you do that easily including mine and Dan's that have a primary base location in/near Snow or wasteland.   You do know you can easily change the spawn points as well to put you where ever you want to spawn, including having only a singular spawn right?


    Dan is using one of my spawns and moved to the Snow after, I want to say day 4 or so in his playthrough(BihariScientology) because it had the best rating.   BrachyurousDo-it-yourselfer has a high group of forest cities with a wasteland city nearby and the best base location in the wasteland and there are plenty of other examples.

    Completely different world and full of SUCK.  Don't do 10k seeds, they are generally horrible for ratings because things are spread out so far.    The point of the seeds I an Dan posted, which is a currated list of a less than 150 total seeds of 8k size is that they DO NOT suck when the definition of not suck is "lots of interesting things very close to a specific point in the world, which is the best point to place your base due to proximity to things that are interesting).  

     

     

    For comparison, Here is that world using the same settings at 10k and it comes in well under the rating(~8k rating vs original ~19k rating) of the original 8k map and looks completely different as well:

    it also took WELL over twice as long to generated JUST inside of 7d2d, and about 2.5 times for an 8k seed to complete the entire process of rating, drawing the preview maps, etc.    I won't be making any 10k maps because frankly, they are not worth it as you would have to spend a 2 or 3 times as long to generate EACH map and then because the ratings suck you would throw more away(I discard anything with a rating below 15000 which means it would take an inordinate amount of time to get any halfway decent seeds.)

    The code is out there if anyone wants to play with it and spend their time, but neither Dan nor I are going to do more than a few one offs.

    Completely different world.  May be complete garbage or may be amazing.   Things WILL be in different places and that would affect the rating

    Check out the ones Dan did as well.. he wrote most of the code for doing the initial generation and most importantly how the rating is determined(still up in the air if will remain the same long term).  I am still working on the code to compile the seed's important data into a spreadsheet, likely another week or so at least.

    The click "Generate World" and compare it to what I see on your google drive for that map.  About the only thing that is identical is the biome layout so I know I have the size and biome name correct.  I'm wondering if it's one of the other settings was different when it was generated?  Like I mentioned you don't have a value for Random specified so I'm not sure what that should be other than 0.

     

    No worries if you don't have time,  it's not the end of the world.  Just wanted to make sure it was something I was doing so if other people were using your seeds they wouldn't have similar issues.

     

    FYI I did also eventually start a game and got the map I expected, just not the one you show for that seed/size/settings.

    In your reply, you did hills = "2" but all mine were hills =3, so that absolutely can account for the difference.

    Yes.  I fact @dcsobral is doing a playthrough now using axes and is doing quite well in the snow biome.

    SexagenarianVichy has an abnormally high amount of snow POI's with 64.87%(second highest was like 48.46), and a total map landmass for snow biome of 51.70%(again the next highest was like 45.81%)

    Every map created makes a 'biomes.png' file that shows the biomes. Seed 3 gave me this one:

    This is ok - but not ideal.  So my question - this is a simply PNG... Can I edit this in any old image editor and just pick the colors and doodle it into what I wanted, and will the generated world adapt to the new biome map, or is this fixed in stone once the world is generated? Anyone know?

    I'm going to attempt to swap in this one mid-generation and see what pops up:

    DeiformCylinders, DiacausticCooms, DiptheroidAntecdence, DivorciveDecrepitude, BrachyuriousDo-it-yourselfer(quite high rating), AligningMichigan, etc.     Quite a few to choose from.   NOTE I typed thse names while looking at the image so, the names may have incorrect spellings, so double check if plan to try any!!!!

    I did clear the previous data from all the other versions.

    I am not sure what exactly you mean.    Dan and I have generated seeds the other person originally created, so it's not locked a seed + given computer for sure.   

     

    are you saying(either/or? )

    1. You generated world, and then in the map view window it does NOT look like what I posted in my images
    2.  You generated the world and in the map view windows it DOES look like the images but when you try to play you don't get that world

     

    If #1, then you are doing something wrong.   The seeds are a combination of a seed value AND a size AND the various settings, so check each of those. 

     

    If #2, well that's just kind of a bad UI design (IMHO) on the fun pimp part.   When you generated a world, you MUST take note of the world name, this is NOT the same as the seed.    

     

    eg(this is in the advanced generation section when I clicked that button in "New Game"):

    Click the BACK button.

     

    Now, here is what you DO NOT WANT TO DO(next picture).   If you type in the World Generation Seed here, you will get the default settings for towns, plains, etc and that wont create the same world!!!!!

    See how it's RED????? That means you ALREADY generated that world!    

     

    Click the arrows beside Game World until the one you just generated comes up with the correct "Generated World Name" you took note of on the previous screen.   Of course, yours will be completely different from Hibolo Valley since the seed is different.

    AnticipantEditor will be New Milodu County if you got the settings all correct(size would be the only thing that would change the world name with the same seed(though the seed MUST be in the EXACT same case as listed.   If you  "anticipantEditor"(note the lowercase 'a'), you would get a COMPLETELY different world!
