  1. oh, I thought that was about the size of the snow biome... and now that I type this I realize that that's linked to the snow elevation. thanks again. Edit: wait... will this also work in a custom heightmap??? Edit 2: nvm. I just tested it. it works. Btw, not sure if you are aware that snow and desert do touch. at least for custom heightmaps. (Yes, I know that I can edit the biomes file. just letting you know just in case)

  3. Hello again. Is there any config file I could Modify to change at what elevation water and snow spawns? and if not... I think it would be a good idea to have it somewhere integrated in the program. cheers
  4. yeah, I didn't mean to add a a custom made 16b greyscale heightmap, but to imput something simple as "see attached img" and based on that, have KingGen generate a random map.
  5. Hello. So, I was testing it yesterday and first off, the tool is awesome. Seriously, great job. I was disappointed when I came back to generate a map since a long time ago and saw NitroGen was untouched ever since, but KingGen so far does everything and more. Now, a feature request: I have no idea how noise generated maps work and even if it's even possible but... Same as you allow us to paint our desired cities, biomes, etc. Can't you make something similar for the heighmap? Say I paint roughly where I want flat*ish* terrain (little lakes included), where I want water, where I want mountains, where I want hills, (I guess the type of noise could be linked to the biomes), and then based on that, the tool generates a heightmap. Or at least something as simple as "give me tall snowy mountains at this particular location and generate everything else as you wish". It would save a lot of heightmap photoshopping time and I know many people would be happy x) Thanks.
  6. Oh, so it's not just me.. good. I just downloaded the program for the first time, clicked con generate right as it was and thought I had still managed to mess something up. Edit: After that I also got an error that didn't allow me to close the program. had to task kill it.
  7. I'd like to know this too. quoting to keep it fresh in case someone knows. I hope it's as simple as copying some files from the game files and pasting in nitro#s folder.
  8. @Damocles are we to expect an update soon? as we have to wipe, we are not sure if re rolling the old generation of wait a bit for you.
  9. Those having blocks over blocks glitches. Did you wipe all your old data? That's usually the problem. Also, relogging is a quick fix to it every time it happens.
  10. AFAIK, invisible Zs were related to client and server not being in the same game version.

  12. we tried generating a map with no roads and indeed the little islands didn't generate same as most of the moses pathways. but there are still some water issues here and ther. what depth do you recomend for the water then? what HTML color if possible. I've been using shades between 101010 for the shores and 060606 for ''deep water'' I tried using the water border tone from the resources folder 1d1d1d but for some reason it generated land when I generated´the map. Edit: I was misinformed... the water problems are 100% the roads fault.
  13. Hi @Damocles I ran into 2 issues while generating our map for the new server. 1. It seems the map is not generating a radiation Zone. We can simply walk out and fall of the map with no problems. apprarently the radiation file is not generated. that's tolerable to some point... if you are dumb enough to jump out, that's your problem x) and I suppose I could just copy and paste the radiation file generataed from and older version of Nitro? I'm gonna try that. The second issue is... when generating a map with islands. and a mask separating them enterely... it generate this small dots of land between them. I think it's where the road was supposed to be. as seen in this picture. that part is ok... it'd be even nice to try and build a bridge coneecting thos tiny island... the problem is what happens in each island. @%$*#! seen below. Apparently Moses has been earth bending too. so.. there's that. cheers. Edit- - yeah, manually adding the radiation.png worked just fine. - ok, moses is not in every island and the line of land and tree does not always generate from every island either... just found a line of trees surrounded by like 10 blocks of water high. - I double checked the HM and there are no random white pixels or something of the like where the land is spawning.

Any chance to make the highways respect the mask or even better have a special highway mask? don't get me wrong, I love the asset and I knew this was a stupid idea since the beginning, but I wanted to do a sort of stress test to see what was the outcome and I couldn't help it but laugh at it x) . For example, I could make a mask like this one and then the highways would generate only where I want them to.

So I was generating a 16K map (just for fun to see how Long it would take, no actual Intention of playing on it) and then came across this in the very end (see Picture) As you can see, the cmd window shows an error, but the Nitrogen window doesn't. to this Point I don't know if it already failed, or if nitro is still working on something in the Background. cheers.
  16. you can edit the Biomes file in any decent Image editing software (I use gimp) the Radiation file will be automatically generated. I believe you can edit that file too if you want.
  17. I generated a 2K map with Nitrogen and when I went to the game it was a 4k map. currently playing that world.

  19. you can just replace the Biomes file for your own and then when loading the world it will use your Biomes.

I spent a large part of the morning playing with it, but still can't manage to get something as good as you posted… not even close… btw. how did you manage to have the water almost at the same Level of the main land? I Always end up with the continent ending in a cliff. no natural shores. I increased the spawn water number in the config file, but I guess I was doing somethjing else wrong, because that didn't help
  21. I did try the brightness and curves, with better but still not satisfying results… I'm gonna give it a second shot tho.. We have to stay home anyways x)

  23. Hey, this map looks great! I created this account just to ask you if you could share the heightmap you used. I tried using real heightmaps but they were too… precise I guess and then created massive Spikes around the map. then tried manually repainting from a flat map, but didn't have the Patience... so, how did you do it? Also, an idea for Damocles based on this experience… Couldn't you create something similar to the mask, but then, the masked area would be converted into water, and the unmasked will generate a random heigthmap? that would make exremely easy just to grab any map Silhouette and generate a nice map based on it. cheers
