    I am having problems installing Undead Legacy.  I used the V3 mod installer and have 20.5 B2 installed via steam.  I selected 20.5 copy over when installing the mod.  The error I am getting occurs when at the startup screen, music starts then cuts out.  Then the console starts spamming several errors that say stuff like:

    From the error messages i would say, something is missing, didn't fully downloaded/installed.
    When i remember right, the mod launcher got an alternative download too, try that.

    Alternative, just download the mod (link at the 1.page) and instal it manualy. Basicly just a copy over your allready UL installation.

    Undead Legacy 2.5.82 NEED 7 days 20.5, since the current version is 20.6 you need to use the beta tab at steam to install it,

     

    Check the Download link from the first page to get 2.6.12. But i think it could be get from the modlauncher too, just be sure you don't use version 2.x from the modlauncher !

    Todays noob question is about power, since there's no journal entry - my game is at the stage where traders are selling me generator banks and engines, and solar panels and cells, and oh so many batteries, but I haven't seen any sign of a battery bank yet. Is power in UL the usual chain of power source --> battery bank --> relay --> device, and I need to research battery banks ?  I've got a solar setup feeding directly into my recycling station so I can work the power ok, just not sure if I need batteries.

    UL don't change anything about the electrical power.

    Battery bank works best together with Solar bank, so it can store surplus daytime power for night use.

    Generator bank wouldn't need a battery bank. The fuel use of the generator depend on how many power for the connected stuff.

    Relay you only need to extend you power grid by range or more devices. Generator/battery bank can only support 3 devices.

    When you got a constrant source of new loaded batteries from salvaging cars, you could use the battery bank as only power source too.

    You just need to craft Wood frames.

    Put the wood frame at the hotbar, select it and press r for the radial menu.

    Select shapes, and search for ladder. Some other block/shape allow you too to climb up.

    But that isn't anything new, that is since TFP added these Shape system.

     

  5. You just would need a new gameplay mechanic,

    Bandolier mod for the weapon.

    Allow you to use ammo from a special crate at 5/10m range.

    So long that craft got ammo you can shoot until your weapon break ! 🙂

     

    But honestly, wouldn't that be overpowered during hordenights!

    At DF you allready can load up more ammo at weapons then other overhauls (with the right mods).

    Don't forget this is an overhaul, and it isn't perfect nor bugfree.
    Many perks from books arn't working at Ul, the cigar is one of it. But you should be able to buy them from traders (i think).

     

  7. Did you use the advance option at the map generator ?

    If so, then yes that bring you to the Map generator from the Main menu, and you have to use the Back button, New world and select the world you just generated.

    Only when you use the standard settings, you stay at the menu and start that world automatical (i think).

    That is the solution to run it with full textures, maybe.

    But the PC shouldn't crash of that. An error msg. and move back to main menu would be the right solution.

    But now we can discus if that is a vanilla problem about missing failsafe or the mod problem because it use to much textures ! 🙂

    Since i think SQ got better connection the TFP, he maybe can forward it to them.

    But then you need an africa style overhaul.
    These few excotic animals from a zoo maybe, won't survive long enough.

     

  10. Ok manual.

    And you use the right 7d2d version, the UL experimantal need 20.6.
    Don't use any addional modlets.

    Check if you copied them correct, look at Mods folder if you see many folders like UndeadLegacy_Content01 and not only one.

    Be sure you disable EAC or start the exe without EAC.
    When anything don't help, you should consider to manual delete the gamefolder, the appdata location (can be found over the launcher) just to get ride of all old surprus files. Delete not uninstal. Then let steam repair / reinstall it.
    And i suggest to copy the gamefolder and use the copy for overhaul mods.

    Nothing changed to the old version.

    You can either generate world over world and check if there are all DF related POI present.

    Or you just you the World editor and replace existing ones with the ones that are missing.

    Check Youtube about a video how to do it.

     

  12. You can even use the paste shortcut (ctrl-v) and insert your clipboard image here.

     

    Most common problems for installion are:

    - old Modlaucher versin 2.x (white screen), download the 3.x or 4.x and use these. Update 2.x don't update to 3.x

    - use wrong UL version for the 7d2d version. When you use 7d2d 20.6 you need UL 2.6.x

    for 7d2d 20.5 you need to use UL 2.5.x

    - other modlets at gamefolder Mods or Appdata Mods.

    Btw. when 7d2d say "Writing Map Data Complete" , the map generation isn't complete, it just generated the biome. After that the generator start to place the POIs.

     

     

  14. You know there isn't any support for DF for old version, when you want to play the A19 version you are at your own.

    Since you just got 2GB video RAM, you should go for minimal textures and less particles. That is your bottleneck i would say.

     

    16GB RAM should be fine for SP and when as client.

    When it is start lagging, you should just open the taskmanager and check the RAM usage.

     

    Against cities lag you maybe should try out (when you switch to A20).

    And how did you update the mod ?

    Since you still have the Small-noCP, you prolly just copy over the the new version to the existing one.

    That is a bad idea, it can works mosttimes but when the dev changed the file structure you have some old files left which can cause problems.

    You allways should delete the old folders before you copy the new ones.

    I allways happend before.

    You should check what skill is needed to repair that stuff and what bonus you get for repairing these.

    You only get various +10 crafting bonus, but never some repairing bonus. That means all stuff above 50 (or was it 60) will degrade when you repair it.

  18. Do you use 7d2d 20.5 or 20.6 ?

    This overhaul currently only works with 20.5.

     

    When you use the modlaucher to instal it, be sure you don't use the old 2.x version (white windows), then download the new 3.x version since the update function don't update to the 3.x.
