Egon
I updated to A20.1 B6 and saw the same behavior from A20 launch on MacOS. Ok, so easy workaround: go to ~\Library\Application Support\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die, right click on the 7DaysToDie app and select Get Info, click Open using Rosetta, close Get Info, launch the game. Same result. Huh? Go back to Get Info, and Open using Rosetta isn't checked. No matter what I do, checking Open using Rosetta never sticks. Roll back to original A20 and I can set Open using Rosetta and it sticks. Thoughts?
Vampirenostra
is there enough permission to write to the folder?
Egon
Yes, but why would that change after an update?
Egon
Same issue with the new 20.1 stable: 1. I go to ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/7 Days To Die/7DaysToDie.app and right click, Get Info, and check Open using Rosetta. 2. Attempt to run the game and it crashes. 3. Go back to the Info for the app and Open using Rosetta is no longer checked. This workaround worked with no issues with the "unstable" build. Egon
OK, I had to completely uninstall to get the workaround working again.

Andrew Eddie
Same problem. File permissions were 755 but would not allow "Open using Rosetta" to stay enabled. Googling didn't find any information to support why that might happen. Uninstall and reinstalled game in Steam fixed the issue. Old local game save still worked.
