Hello

I've just got a new gaming laptop (Lenovo Legion 5) and im trying to play the game but every time i try to launch the game, it just crash after a few seconds.

My older computer is able to load the game just fine and one major difference is this new laptop came with windows 11. After trying multiple things im running out of ideas on what to do, so maybe someone can help?

The log of the last crash :

Now, i do see there is multiple missing files (steam scan is saying everything is fine)

After some online research, they belong to DirectX11 and Microsoft Visual C 2022. Obviously i went online to download them, just in case they had an issue. That did not solve it.
Deleted and redownloaded the game did not help.

Manually launching the game with either .exe in the folder is giving the same result.

Changing DirectX to Vulkan and to the other is giving the same result

Here's the fun detail : when i go and change the game to Alpha 19.6, the game works just fine. I change it back to Alpha 20 and nop, just crash.

Is there something obvious im missing?

thanks for the help!

Yeah i did see that line and i downloaded said version from microsoft website, twice, installed twice (you know, just to be sure :p ) and it did nothing.

But im now back a few hours later to say i fixed the problem in another way!

I got rid of windows 11 and did a clean install of windows 10. Works perfectly fine now!

(not very helpfull solution i know... Win11 is just so bad on aesthetic and utility, i couldnt do it)

Yes, it looks like clean installs of Windows 11 from OEMs come with something called virtualization based security on default and gaming systems were seeing as much as 30% drop in performance in some cases.  If you upgrade to Win11 from Win10, that feature is disabled by default.
