DoctorB0NG
Any support is appreciated for this strange issue I've been having since Alpha 18 and has sadly continued into Alpha 19 b173. My original post for this issue can be found here: https://community.7daystodie.com/topic/17850-distant-terrain-incorrect-renders-differently-up-close/ I'm running into an issue where terrain renders incorrectly on clients at a distance but then renders correctly as I approach it. See the following screenshots for what I'm seeing: https://i.imgur.com/si5CKvx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7SZLIS2.jpg My server and client set up is as follows: Server: Ubuntu 20.04 LXC container running on Proxmox 6.2 Fresh install of 7 Days to Die on server using Allocs install scripts Completely new seed value for random generation that I've never used Client: Existing install of 7 Days to Die that was used in Alpha 17, 18, and 19 Windows 10 Pro build 2004 I've blown away the Saves and SavesLocal folders in C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie. I've blown away the entire 7 Days to Die directory in steamapps\common\. The server is a completely fresh OS and game install on a completely different physical host. My only guess is that somewhere my client has cached a previous map file but I can't find where. It's driving me crazy and makes the game very frustrating once I unlock vehicles as it's impossible to see how the maps looks at a distance. Please help! SylenThunder
When you set the config, did you use a value of 1024 for the map size or something different? i.e. 8k map should be 8192, and not 8000
DoctorB0NG
I had indeed selected a value that is not a multiple of 1024. The value I had selected was 9000. I'm now regenerating a new map with a completely fresh server instance using a value of 10240. I'll post my results. Thanks for responding!
