Just open your inventory and select wield, also maybe double-click, and you are ready to use the tool. Less swapping items between inventory and hotslots. For example I want to craft and place a campfire. But with a full toolbelt I'd have to switch one item out, put campfire in, place campfire, open inventory again and put the original item back in the belt. Feels kinda annoying.
